Description of Work: We had a sunp pump that would not shut off; the motor kept running. Matt came over and indicated the switch was defective and because the sump pump was almost 8 years old he would recommend replacing the pump. Almost simultaneously, my wife found the original purchase order of the 8 year old sump; it stated "10 years parts and labor guarantee." Matt recommended we give them a call and see what happens. Unbelievably, the company, after much dialogue, agreed to replace the old pump at a substantially reduced price. Clearly we would have used Matt and Intelligent to do the work if it hadn't been for the circumstances. I strongly recommend Intelligent to anyone needing plumbing services; I know they are number one on our list for customer oriented services. Thank you Matt for being a trusted service provider.

Description of Work: Neal was very helpful and courteous. We have had a recurring water heater problem and he was able to help us negotiate a replacement with the manufacturer and got it covered under the warranty. He also helped unclog a couple of bath drains and everything is working much better now. They were responsive and professional in their work with us. I would use their services again and recommend to others.

Description of Work: I needed a cleanout for my sewar line installed. They were quick and efficient. The work they performed was excellent and those that performed the work inside and outside the home were very professional and courteous. I would highly recommend them in the future.

Not only did Intelligent Plumbing arrive at my home when they said they would, their inspection was thorough and several options for replacement were offered. I would call them again in a heartbeat. Intelligent Plumbing is my plumber of choice from now on.

Description of Work: After living in the same house for 11 years and contending with a flooded basement five times, my wife and I finally decided to contend with the problem by installing drain tile, and a flood control system. We knew it would be costly and invasive, so we simply procrastinated on it for too long. But we were also sick and tired of sewer back-up. No more buckets. No more mops. No more bleach. Enough! We finally made the decision to proceed forward with waterproofing. As we did this, we also decided to finish the basement to provide more space for our kids. After doing extensive research and getting several quotes from a range of different plumbers, I spotted Kerr Mechanical/Intelligent Plumbing here, on Anjie's List. A few days later Neal Deacon, the company's service manager, came to the house and walked me through a few different options at different price points. I was blown away by Neal's total professionalism, his patience to field all questions, and his complete ability to articulate the somewhat complex mechanical nature of flood control systems. I am a college professor and greatly appreciate when a service provider can concisely and clearly articulate what it is they do. Neal was, very simply, the best I have ever seen at this. And not once was he pushy with sales, speaking down to me, or in a hurry. He took the time to listen, to walk me through, step by step, what his company would provide and how long it would take to do it. While Kerr mechanical was a bit more expensive than the competitors, from the very get go I had a very good feeling about the company and at last, totally understood what needed to be done in order to keep my basement dry. We ended up going with a separate company to install the drain tile,as they specialized in this area and had come highly recommended. While they were good, their communication, attention to detail, and responsiveness was no where near that of the Kerr team. We hired Kerr to install the flood control system, with battery back-up, and also hired them to install all the plumbing in the basement in order for us to finish the space. They promised the flood control installation would take three days. They showed up on time and only took two. They were conscientious, and attentive to keeping things as clean as possible. The owner of the company, Bob Kerr, along with his son Jason, were on site through the entire process. Neal did the work too, and even gave me his personal phone number so I could reach if I had any questions. A week later, they returned to complete the plumbing work inside the house. Fast. Clean. Totally professional. As I write this, it is pouring rain outside. My children are at play in the basement and it is completely dry. At long last, We can enjoy a good summer rain without anxiety. In the future, the only plumber I will ever use is Kerr Mechanical. In my years as a home owner, very simply put, this company is the best service provider I have ever encountered.
