Intelligent Service: Plumbing, Heating, Cooling & Drain Cleaning

It was an emergency situation. We didn't have any hot water, and it was leaking. It took a couple of days to order the tankless, which is the system what we wanted. They were competent. They had price options. We could go with a better system or they gave us an option for a less expensive system. They gave us the pros and cons. They gave us other information on other issues that we could have in the future. We know about them, but they gave us the options.

Tom, the serviceman was on time and extremely polite. He thoroughly explained what needed to be done and the cost for the service. While we had booties ready for his arrival to protect our carpeting, he came prepared with his own. The site was clean after the work was completed. We had a few questions about future projects that we may consider for which he provided clear and concise professional answers. I would definitely hire this company for additional work.

They did a good job. My wife really enjoys the work that they did.

We have had two good experiences with them. They were reasonable, they came on time, they did all the work that we wanted with good professional people. They're a good company.

They responded quickly and were very friendly and professional. They initially planned to rod-out our sewer line, but the camera showed that the old cast iron line was broken in at least one place. This was consistent with the experience of other homes in our neighborhood, which are all starting to have the same problems. They did what they could, closed it back up, and provided a quote for digging up the line in the front yard. Despite the tight space between our front stoop and sidewalk, they were able to dig straight down by hand and then undermine the stoop without removing it since that side was supported on the foundation. They found multiple breaks in the line and also found that the cast iron unusually went out another 40-50 feet and had more cracks in it. They offered the option for replacing all of it or just replacing the section directly in front of the stoop. We decided just to replace all of it. Despite the change in plans, they did have us up and running on the first day of the dig. They replaced all of the copper and cast iron in the house with PVC and patched us into the remainder of the old line, since they could not come back until a few days later. They used the proper bronze solder-to-threaded fittings between the old copper and the new PVC (no rubber boots). The second phase took two days, since they discovered that the clay pipe was 8.5 feet down. They did get the new pipe laid down and patched in by the end of the first day, though, and had everything back together by the middle of the second. They replanted our bushes and put things back together. They used the proper permits and the village inspected their work before they buried it.

I've had a couple of experiences with Intelligent Plumbing. They charged me this price for a standard toilet that you could buy for about $150. From the time he first got here and realized he didn't bring a toilet with him and had to go back and get one and then come back, he was here probably about an hour and a half. I would not use this provider as a primary plumber like I did this time.

Work was done quickly and efficiently

This was my first time using this company except for a prior phone call resolution of a problem with a very nice man about one year ago. The people who answer the phones are very nice, courteous and helpful. The plumber (Earl) who came to my home to do the work was on time, was extremely professional, friendly and informative. He offered a company brochure and discussed how they work and the quality they strive for at the company, etc. He understood the work I needed done however once he quoted the price, I felt it was too high and, unfortunately, told him "I should have done more homework regarding pricing" before having them make a service call. He was very gracious, charged only $39 for the call (and he quoted a price for a possible future water pump replacement before leaving). I did go with another company that was half the price WITHOUT USE OF A CAMERA (which I felt unnecessary) and other quotes were slightly less with a camera. Thank you,

They are awesome. They helped me get the piece of concrete off over the top of it. They actually did take the dishwasher. We had initially paid for the other company to provide the installation. When the managers found out, even though they had went the extra mile and helped us with all the extra stuff, actually removing the dishwasher and getting rid of it and all that stuff, they refunded our service installation charge because they weren't able to install it because of the piece of concrete and the pipes were blocking. That was real nice on that company's part. Intelligent Plumbing came out and they moved the pipes and they actually installed the strip so the counter could be placed on top of it. Made it real easy when we had the counter top people come out and re-insert the seam and what-not. A lot of times, I find with some contractors, you may have some shady type characters, or some unfriendly type characters or some guys just going through the motions or stuff like that. Every single person that's came out from them to us has had the most positive, go-getter attitude. They don't cut corners. They are very upfront and honest. The job always gets done and it gets done right. If I'm not home, my wife feels real comfortable around the people from their company. They're just a really professional company. Really impressed by them and everything they've done for us. I recommend them to all my friends and family and everything.

Earl did a great job! He gave use a quote and recommended a new disposal but also gave me a quote to fix our current one but without a warrenty and I chose that. He did a great job. It's fixed now and we are grateful. Thank you!

Was not very happy the quote was supposed to cover the entire house, however the workers only wanted to do part of it. They did a great job with the actual work.

We had another plumber out twice in one week for this problem - charged over $100 each time. Then we call Intelligent Plumbing and he immediately saw the problem and quickly fixed it.

It went well. Neal (I highly recommended him ) came over and showed where the pull-out spout was leaking back into the faucet and the losses meant the intervals needed to be replaced. Il he gave me three options (low/med/high cost with a recommendation for the middle cost ($450 (faucet cost $380)). Zip, Boom, Bang new faucet. Old faucet was completely rusted/corroded. He had to cut it off. I will definitely use intelligent and Neal again.

Fantastic. This is such a reliable company, who treat you with such genuine respect. The technicians know their stuff, and they don't try to upsell you on anything you don't need because unlike other companies, they are not paid as salesmen via commission. I've trusted this company now with 2 homes that I've owned to take care of all our plumbing needs. They've always come through on short notice, and deliver quality professional work that I can trust is done correctly.

Fast and considerate: I needed water in the rest of the house ( my 91 year old mother lives with us and was having difficulty understanding our predicament) and due to the circumstances I was in quite a worried state.

I called to ask for an approximate estimate to install a power venting kit on a exiting direct vent power water heater. The receptionist said that they need to come out to give me estimate which will cost $39. I told her I don't want a service appointment, I just want to understand over the phone how much this service could run. I suggested sending photos of my boiler and basement to her email. She said no technicians are in the office to answer my questions on the phone. No effort of even showing interest to help me or getting my business at all. Ok then, good luck with other customers.

Very well. Two thumbs up. The technician explained what needed to be done and was very clear and concise. We've lived in our house for 43 years and have dealt with many services during the time. Intelligent Plumbing Services has to be # 1 on our list and will recommend to everyone. Even brought my newspaper in from the curb.

An outstanding job was done by Steve from Intelligent Plumbing! Can't recommend him highly enough. He promptly came out and assessed the situation, gave me a quote to do the job, scheduled a time to do the job, did the job in the timeframe described, and left me in a much better state of mind. It was a pleasure to do business with this company. I will definitely use them for future plumbing needs and will recommend them to others. In this day and age, it's a pleasure to find an honorable company to do business with!!

Not well. (A) Intelligent's guy showed up for the initial appointment without the snake and thus was unable to perform the diagnostic work I needed, and (B) After a mere few minutes checking with other vendors on Angie's, I found other vendor's to do the same work for 50% less. That was enough - I fired Intelligent and hired a different service provider.

It turned out that the ejector pump was OK, but the switch that controlled automatic discharge of the pump was not working. The estimate to do the work was quite high. ($653.00). Here's how it broke down: [1] Parts: (the switch): $193.27, [2] Labor: Remove Ejector pump from basin, install new switch, and then seal basin back up. Note: it took the plumber less than 1 hour to do this job. So he charged us $459.73 an hour for labor! This company must have neurosurgeons moonlighting as plumbers. We only agreed to this flat rate due to the emergency situation of water flowing into our basement when we did the laundry or flushed the toilet downstairs. Lesson learned: never hire a plumbing company that does their work for flat fees. The technician Steve was certainly knowledgeable and efficient, but his services do not warrant $460 an hour! This job should have only cost us about $400 at the most, not the $653 charged. I suggest that you do not use this company unless you don't mind spending a lot more money than you need to. To provide context, we completely replaced our ejector pump a few years ago and the cost was $500. Caveat emptor.
