This is a difficult review to write. Some of the work done by Welter Home Services was good and the handyman they sent didn't waste any time going between jobs on my list. The main work that was done well was installation of 2 shower grab bars and fixing a kitchen cabinet garbage can door that eventually broke after over 20 years of constant use. Unfortunately, some of the work was totally unacceptable and they do not stand by their work, even when notified within 24 hours of the work being completed. If they can classify it as a "repair", it's buyer beware! If it breaks again or you see something unacceptable 1 min after they pull out of your driveway, they actually expect you to PAY THEM to fix their own poor work! The work that was not at all satisfactory was the installation of weather-stripping on 2 doors and fixing a broken screw on my desk's keyboard drawer. It took 3 attempts to get the drawer (hopefully) fixed, of which I had to pay for 2 of the attempts. My front door is admittedly not the best and they did make it close easier (not on my fix-it list). However, in the process, they left such a large gap between the door and the weather-stripping that I could see sunlight coming in between the door and the frame. The handyman actually tried to tell me that I was just seeing the weatherstipping, but I guarantee you that I can tell the difference between sunlight that leaves a shadow and some light-colored weatherstripping! I have since installed some foam weatherstipping to stop the massive air leaks before the weather turns and it becomes too cold for the foam to stick properly. I paid them almost $220, and then had to fix it myself! Adding insult to injury, when I called to complain about the large gap they left around my front door, the owner Kevin Welter told me twice that "he hoped I would be reasonable"! As a woman of a certain age, that sexist comment translates as "Just be a good girl and stay quiet!" Would he DARE make such a comment to one of his male customers? I will NEVER use them again - sexist or not - as I feel that anyone who does not have enough pride in their work to stand by it and fix something that is clearly unacceptable is just not trustworthy.

The technician arrived on time, was very professional, and made sure everything was done as we wanted it, despite one item (bypass closet doors) being kind of a challenge because of odd sizing. When a very small leak developed a few days later on one of the sinks they worked on, they returned immediately to take care of it under warranty, no questions asked. We'll definitely continue using Welter for future work.

Absolutely fantastic - they got rid of a terrible old set of wooden stairs and set me up with a great metal ladder that is so sturdy and fits the space perfectly! And they provided a great, reasonable price.

They never followed through with the wok that we agreed on.

It went excellent! Cable for the video camera is hidden which is a very nice touch. For those of you that don't want to do the installation themselves, I would recommend Welter for your Nest camera installations. They did excellent workmanship at a reasonable price.

Overall it was a simple installation, there was a complication due to the faucet I chose. They worked out a solution to the problem and finished the job in a short time. I would definitely use their services again.

They were so professional and did a fantastic job. It took less time than they thought and was fairly priced.

Everything I expected with friendly service. Cleaned up after work was completed, and prompt. I will recommend to all my friends and family who live in the suburbs.

Kevin did a phenomenal job. The outside railings are exactly what was needed for my 86 year old mother, that recently moved in with us. The indoor railings are better than what I had expected, and are absolutely beautiful. I would highly recommend Kevin and will keep him in mind next time I have another project for my home. A+++++

Kevin was awesome. the one mount was hard to hang on our wall and it ended up taking them a lot longer than it should have and they were so good about it. I had a few last minute things I wanted them to look at and they were very nice and helpful and fixed the outlets. They have a set price for hanging up TV's so I knew upfront the cost. Kevin said he would do just about anything - just make a list for him and he could take care of it. My husband and I are hoping to hire him again in the next few weeks to patch up some drywall for us.

Very pleased. Kevin and his helper worked quickly, were very neat, and offered solutions for several unexpected problems. I was particularly impressed with how they planned work so that they were able to move tools and equipment in and out of the house efficiently. Kevin was realistic about when he would be able to do the job, appeared when he said he would, did more than he actually planned to do, and gave detailed information about pricing.

They were very professional, giving me an accurate quote up front and also suggesting other upgrades like the new outlets. They were on time and the bathroom was spotless when they left.

Dan was here all day and Kevin for several hours.

I found Welter Home Services through Angie's list and reached out to them through their website to set up an appointment to come and fix my toilet. Kevin got back to me promptly and we were able to schedule a time. I purchased the replacement part and Kevin came out and replaced the broken flapper/chain without any problems. I would use Kevin and his company again.

After buying the Big Deal Kevin was quick to reach out and schedule a time to come out and get an idea of the scope of the work. I have a list of 12-15 things that need doing so we spent a large portion of our first meeting talking about that list. Even so, Kevin was able to get a patch in place for the kitchen ceiling and get a first coat applied. He returned a week later (by mutual agreement) and not only finished the kitchen patch and light fixture replacement, but also installed the ceiling fans in the breakfast area and guest bedroom. I will have Kevin out in the future to knock off additional items from my list.

This is the third time I have used Kevin. He put up a garden shed for me last fall and when a piece for the roof didn't fit he contacted the manufacturer and obtained the necessary replacement. When the weather changed before he could complete the job he stopped by and put a tarp over the roof and when the weather improved he came back and finished the job. About a month ago I needed my laundry room sink replaced. Kevin came early, before I left for work and I was very comfortable leaving him in the house to do the work after I left - after he made friend with my dog - and he closed everything up when he left. And this week he came to replace two warped shelves in a kitchen cabinet. He replaced them with very nice quality wood that I don't even feel the need to paint, as I will cover them with shelf liner. I have found Kevin very pleasant to deal with. He is very personable, does good work and cleans up after himself. He is very accommodating to my timetable and I feel perfectly comfortable leaving him in my house knowing he will do the work, clean up and leave, closing up after himself. I would have no hesitation in recommending his services and would certainly use him myself if the need arises again.
