Description of Work: They will not service anyone in the city. Even though I am located on the north side, not that from their location and my street has plenty of parking (often a concern). Given that it seems that there truly is only one company that handles Jacuzzi Whirlpool repairs in the city (and they had been temporarily closed due to an emergency), Jacuzzi referred me to this company, but they were not even about to discuss the possibility! Although I suppose that a company has the right to determine their service area, personally I think that in their shoes, knowing the situation, that I would at least be willkng to listen and consider arranging an exception, perhaps an upcharge for the "outside of service area". Again, suppose it is their right, but to me, denying even the consideration when the customer truly has no where else to turn just doesn't put them jn the best light.

We are sorry for any inconvenience you experienced as we do not service the Chicago area. We have been in Mount Prospect since August 1, 1952. our service area for the past 65 years has always been quite local. Our Business was closed from 12/30/2010 through 05/15/2011 due to a major Health crisis as was stated on the message a customer received when a call for service. Suburban Service, Inc. was closed for that duration and phones were not answered until business operation resumed in May.Being Jacuzzi Whirlpool Bath Brand Products factory authorized service since 1988, we would have referred any customer to one of two alternate Jacuzzi Whirlpool service companies as we have always done. Apologies for your experience, and we truly hope your issue with your Tub has since been resolved.

Refrigerator Rick had the whole freezer apart to get at the problem. He found that the defrost was not working and there was a whole buildup of ice around the evaporator coil, not allowing any cooling to get pushed up into the refrigerator box. He fixed the ice problem and found the main circuit board was defective and had to change that too.
Description of Work: Repaired our refrigerator. There was no cooling in the refrigerator.

I just felt like it wound up costing more than the estimate I was given over the phone, in spite of the fact that the replacement part was free.
Description of Work: Bosch Dishwasher wasn't getting dishes clean anymore. They came out and replaced a part which apparently was under a voluntary replacement from Bosch (Bosch did not charge anything for the replacement part). Even though the replacement part was free, and the service was "quick" (< 1hour) it was still quite expensive. It was hard to tell from the repairman whether or not he was able to verify that the problem we were having was related to the replacement part. The dishwasher does work better now, but it's not as good as it was. (Maybe it's just cuz it's an old dishwasher). The guy who did the repair was on time, professional, careful, and left everything cleaner than he found it, which was nice.

We very much appreciate the member's Input. We received the Service request 2/17/2012 and was informed the Bosch Dishwasher was Not Cleaning. Per the Serial Number this Unit is a 2001. The member indicated he would be home the following Monday. He was quoted $89.95 plus Parts & Labor. On 2/20/2012 ; the Service Technician arrived @ 10:43 a.m. and was informed the Unit was NOT cleaning the Dishes. This Unit required the replacement of the Control Unit and as per Warranty was replaced at no charge for the PART. The service was completed @ 11:26 a.m. As per instructed on 2/17, the member was charged $89.95 Trip Charge and $55.00 Minimum Labor for the first 1/2 hour with service having taken 43 minutes. No charges were made for anytime after the first 30 minutes.

I was pretty sure I knew what was wrong with the water heater, but it was beyond my capability to repair. I wanted to make sure the service technician had a replacement valve to avoid the need for a return trip. I made that clear when I called. The work was actually done by another company. I'm not sure of their relationship to Suburban Parts and Service, but the job couldn't have gone better. The technician had the right part (which they got the manufacturer to cover under warranty), replaced it quickly, and also replaced the igniter as part of the service call.
Description of Work: Replaced a smart gas valve on an AO Smith high efficiency water heater.

THE SERVICEMAN WAS VERY HELPFUL ABOUT KEEPING THE COST DOWN TO A MINIMUM AND PERFORMED THE JOB VERY EFFICIENTLY. THE COMPANY WAS EASY TO WORK WITH.
