Electrician did not respond at first, I had to call him. He promptly came to my home and spent 1/2 hour assessing the situation. He claimed that it would cost several thousand dollars to permanately fix the problem. A week later he replaced it with a higher voltage transformer and charged me an additional $30, and took 1/2 hour at my home to relpace it. All lights worked. Within 3 hours one light went dead and hasn't worked since.

On time, on budget, cleaned up after work done. Will definitely use again.

George showed up on time. He had to install 2 ceiling fans which required him going into the attic on one of the hottest days to install the electrical boxes for each fan. He also changed out an outside lighting fixture. It took about 6 hours for the whole job (installing electric boxes, assembling fans, installing fans and installing new outside light). He was very polite and cleaned up after he finished. Would definitely hire again.

George contacted me soon after my initial phone call and we set up a date for the work to be done. We changed the date to accommodate an emergency at another job George was working on. That was no problem for me. George arrived on time and introduced himself and we discussed options for possible future work - specifically outdoor lighting and the installation of an outdoor outlet. George then advised about the installation of four light fixtures - one in the garage and three in the basement. I liked his suggestions and George proceeded on the jobs. He completed all the work and cleaned up the areas, not that there really was any mess. George advised me about what to purchase for a future job and gave me an estimate for that work. He made sure the new configuration for our attic fan included a cutoff switch to comply with code and moved the attic light so it would provide more lighting in the attic space. George responded to request for bid quickly. A rainy day provided a break in is schedule so that he was able to fo inside work at our home. The work was completed as needed and he was very neat making sure to clean up. No surprises on costs and made recommendations that improved the requested lighting changes in our workroom.

Absolutely top-notch! George arrived on time, quickly sized-up the effort and what would be needed, and set to work. He is obviously very knowledgeable and very professional. Our job was a relatively small but difficult one, installing a new ceiling exhaust fan in a bathroom that had never had a fan before. It is an older home with plaster ceilings, which made the job even more challenging. George installed the new fan perfectly, with a minimum of disruption, and the result was very neat and tidy. In addition to performing great work, George was also very concerned about keeping things clean and protecting everything from the dust that would result from cutting into plaster, so he made sure things were either removed or covered before he began. He also made sure everything was clean and picked-up after the job was finished. All-in-all, we were very satisfied, and plan to use George again the near-future for some additional electrical work we need done.

The guy that came was very responsive. He came and listened to what we needed to have done and he did a great job. He was prompt and knowledgeable. He offered suggestions to make it more feasible to take care of the problem. He was very professional and communicative. I would recommend him highly to anyone.

He arrived when promised. began work immediately. Installed electrical outlet and power for the fan to operate. Installed fan in bean in center of vaulted ceiling in screened in porch. Cleaned up after work was completed.

I had many electrical problems in my home that I needed resolved. George explained what need to be done and the costs involved, He came back the next day with the materials and completed the work to my complete satisfaction. My daughter and son have since used George for electrical work in their home and were also thrilled with his work......As a matter of fact, my daughter called him with an electrical problem and he told her how to fix it over the phone......Just a great guy....Our family would not use anyone else!!

Mr. Karidas suggested that I have the dryer and cord delivered before he came. He came out the next day, inspected the dryer and cord and the existing outlet (that was intended for a range, rather than a dryer) and went out to purchase the new outlet and quickly put the replacement in and installed the cord to the dryer. He tested it all before leaving. He was quick, clean and helpful and his price was reasonable. I appreciate a small, efficient business that gets the job done.

I have an older home that was not adequately maintained by the previous owner, the overall electrical systems for the house was teetering on unsafe, and not up to code. George of Karidas Electric came out and explained to me the electrical condition of the house and provided an estimate for the work that needed to be done. I got 4 estimates prior to selecting Karidas Electric. Although the estimate was higher than what t I expected, I chose Karidas Electric for several reasons: 1) George explained things in laymen's terms prior to starting the project and he answered my questions, 2) I felt safe having him and his partner all throughout the house and most days I wasn't there, 3) At the end of each day George conducted walk-thrus and discussed with me the things he accomplished and the things he still had to complete, 4) George went above and beyond and repaired electrical hazards that were planned for later projects, and 5) George had a good attitude.

Before hiring, we compare vendors' information and reviews on Angies List, BBB, etc Because of the favorable comments from fellow Angie's List members, we selected Karidas Electric. George Karidas came at the time promised and gave us a reasonable estimate. which we accepted. and indicated he could do the work that very late afternoon. [Surprising, since he had already spent most of the day working in two Northern suburbs.] He installed three outdoor lighting fixtures and three indoor fixtures to replace existing units that we felt were well outdated. George successfully repaired the one non-working unit that we had expected to replace. As a matter of fact replacing that essential non-working unit was the most urgent and, thanks to George, that and the other units are now working perfectly.

I walked into my bathroom a couple of days ago to find that flipping the switch to turn on the light (which also controlled the fan) did... nothing. I have a newborn in the house, so this was kind of a big problem. I spent a little time trying to fix the problem myself, even replacing the switch and also doing a little work with a DMM to try to figure out what was going on - no luck. Needless to say, with a brand-new baby this couldn't go on too long. I used George in the past to do all the electrical in a kitchen remodel (which was also done very well, and needs to be the subject of a separate review), so I thought of him first when needing to get this fixed. He was able to come over the day after I called (he was slammed the first day) and looked at the entirety of the wiring in the bathroom. Instead of just getting things to work, he suggested removing wiring to an unused switch and separating the switch functions for the light and fan. Things now work great, and the price was very fair. I can recommend George without reservation.
