George came over and looked over what needed to be done. He suggested some outside work be delayed until the spring, but made an appointment to come and do the indoor work later in the week. He showed up on time, switched two outlets which had been used for A/C window units to regular current, installed a ceiling fan and light fixture in one of our bedrooms, re-connected our doorbell which had been disconnected for some time, and installed two new doorbell switches. He looked over our electric box and told me we might need to replace it at some point because it was old and would not support much added demand, and told me about some new style outlets which we might want to consider, especially for our kitchen and bathrooms. He cleaned up everything beautifully and said he would call back in the spring to do some of the outside and cable work (which is not critical). He was very pleasant and explained everything in detail.

He called me with the estimate and I could not believe the amount. I did not call him back. Instead I called the first company again and asked them to send a more experienced person. They came out and fixed the connection in the living room. The guy said he fixed the attic, but when I tested it it did not work. This was the 3rd person out. I called the other company again to get another guy out and this time the 4th guy was able to fix the connection in the attic. Now all work. The guys from the other company, number 3 and 4, use existing wiring to connect to the new areas. They did not need a helper and they did not need to run new wire. I paid less than $100.00 for their visits. This Kadiras company should not list themselves as knowing cable work, if they don't. OR perhaps they do and us tried to scam a single women. I would NEVER use this company. BEWARE!

Excellent worker, nice person, no problems!

It took a lot longer than anticipated because of what was inside the walls once they were opened up; 135 year old house, but they worked for hours to make sure it was done correctly. Found an electrical issue with old wiring that should have been addressed long ago, and fixed that, too. Now there is no longer a safety issue. TV looks great. George called a few days later to make sure everything was working and to make sure we were happy. The cost was similar to what the store wanted to charge, but they would never have completed the job, once they saw what they had to deal with, they would have closed the wall up and said no thanks. This was not your basic job. There were two walls one plaster and lathe and one of drywall on top of each other, debris in between the studs making pulling wiring very difficult. They managed to do it though. I am extremely happy with the work. George is the only electrician I use for our 2 flat. He's very honest and trustworthy. We trust him completely.

George and his helper were courteous and professional throughout the project. George showed up on time both to perform the estimates and to complete the work. I also liked how George followed up with a call a few days after the job was done to see if everything was OK.

George arrived the day after I called and quickly replaced the bathroom switch. He then checked to see what would be necessary to add the outlet over the microwave and said that he would need to bring another person in order to complete that work. He explained that in the worst case scenario it could cost as much as $700, saying he would rather overestimate the cost than have a nasty surprise after the work was completed. He called the next day to set an appointment to complete the outlet work. It took them about 7 total man hours to complete and cleaned up after themselves. George and his assistant were both professional, friendly, honest and explained everything that was being done. I will hire him again to install bathroom fans and a new kitchen light as soon as I can afford it. I was very satisfied with his work from start to end.

Job 1: Went smoothly. Came in slightly over quote. Original quote was $950 + materials, actual was $1080 + materials. George cleaned up everything afterwards. Job 2: George showed up on time, had all the materials he needed, was fast, cleaned up after himself and pleasant to work with. Took less than an hour.

With the terrible storms/floods of 8/23/07, our electricity was out for three days (until ComEd could get around to restoring service for thousands in the metro Chicago area). During these days, we bought a generator to power primarily our sump pump and refrigerator. The day after electricity was restored to our neighborhood, our fridge began to turn off intermittently. We didn't know where the problem originated (e.g. the fuse, the fridge itself). I called one electrical company from Angie's List, which was helpful but wasn't available for several days. I then left a message for George Karidas. He called me back a few hours later and was willing to come to my home the very next day. George was pleasant, mild-mannered and took some time to test different possibilities. He ultimately realized why that one particular circuit was overloading and explained it well to me (I'm not very experienced in these topics). Very reasonable price. Nice person to boot.

Went well. Mr. Karidas is very professional, always confirming appointments, and showing up on time.

George spent the day on the work as the ceiling fan was pretty complex and required a bunch of re-wiring due to the features we ordered. He also needed to add some greenfield in the two bathrooms because they were a difference size. We've used George on several occasions. As always, he was prompt, friendly, and did nice work. He also cleaned up his work very nicely.

I have to say, this is the first time that Angie's list has let me down. George returned my initial call promptly. We set up a time for him to come out to review everything at no charge. He arrived late, but called me thirty minutes after the scheduled appt time to let me know he was going to be late. I was ok with this. An appt was scheduled for the following week to have the work done. Unfortunately, George did not show up or call. This was very disappointing as I had re-arranged by calendar and work hours to be able to be home during the scheduled appt time. I phoned George 2 1/2 hours after he was supposed to be at my home and he said he meant to call me, but got caught up in other things. I cannot do business with someone who is unreliable.

He said he would get back to me with the estimate within 2 weeks. I called him after 3 1/2 weeks said he had been sick and was very busy and also said maybe he shouldn't do the work.

First of all, it was such a relief that George able to come over on short notice late Saturday afternoon. He explained what he was doing and seeing as he worked, and was considerate of our home. Secondly, we lost several appliances in the surge, so it was also a relief to see the very reasonable bill. Lastly, George called a few days later to make sure our problem had been resolved (my uncle is ordinarily my electrician, but was unavailable on Saturday; we'd mentioned to George that we'd probably be using my uncle for any major repairs). It was very refreshing to deal with someone who clearly did a good job and was concerned about the work. While I hope we remain emergency free for a while, I highly recommend George and wouldn't hesitate to call again.

We have used George several times. He always returns calls, shows up on time, is very knowledgeable, and explains things well. He does great work and is neat. His prices are very reasonable. I recommend him highly.

We have used him before and got great service. He is nice, prompt, neat and does great work. We are very happy with him.

George and his assistant explained what the problem was, told me what the options were to resolve the issue. He ran a fish tape from the basement to the master bath and determined that it was a straight shot. He said he can do the work right then. Although he had initially said it would take a day, because of the straight run from the electrical panel to the master bath, he was able to complete the job in just two hours. He explained things every step of the way. I was very happy that the cost was very reasonable and he was able to get the issue resolved right away saving another trip.

George had to purchase a new circuit breaker. He came back when he said he would. He kept in touch with phone throughout the entire process. He verified that he didn't forget about me; great communication!

I was concerned about having damaged the wiring when I damaged the light. I called several electrical service providers and Mr. Karidas agreed do the electrical work the next evening. He was prompt and very professional. He installed a new light and grounded some wiring that had not been grounded. I was very happy with his work. I will call him for any future electrical work.

He arrived on time, completed the work quickly, offered his advice on other electrical and lighting questions I had, and was a pleasure to deal with.

George was great. I was going to use him once before to install heating wires on my roof to prevent ice build up by the gutters, but decided to get a new roof so I postponed it. He went through a lot of effort to look up material costs and consult with me on options to address my problem (event though some meant him not getting any work). Seems very honest and interested in doing what is best for customer. I am selling my house now and the inspector said that some of my circuits were doubled up, so I called George to fix it. He came to my house to give me an estimate. I think it was $650-$700. We set up a time, he went out and bought a sub-panel, then came back and installed it and rewired the electrical and labeled the panel. The price ended up being less than $500 which was a pleasant surprise.

George responded to our voice mail message within three hours, and was on site at our home within five hours of our first and only call to him. The $60 per hour charge seems to be very competitive and George pointed out a few things that needed some attention. He was sincere with his suggestions and did not give the impression that he was merely trying to generate revenue.

George is careful, experienced, and helpful. I called him again for another unrelated job a few weeks later.

George did a great job. He provided an initial consultation & returned to complete the work as scheduled. The estimate was the same as the invoice. George was knowledgeable, professional, & courteous, & only recommended work that needed to be done.

Did not end up performing the work. Had him come out to give me an estimate. He was very nice and did a thorough job of assessing my home's needs. Unfortunately, his estimate was not within my budget. I feel he would have done a good job, he just took 8 days to get back to me with an estimate. I went with someone who got back to me within one day.

They did a great job. We had been experiencing many short circuits and have had no problems since the work was done. It cost what they said it would. They were very clean and as quiet as they could be. All of my dealings with them were positive.
