Wanted to get a quote to paint exterior of home. The don’t answer phone calls. Finally “Wendy” picked up phone. Had to call back and no one answered phone again. Left voicemails. No return call. Finally Wendy texted me. Said never got my voicemails even though I checked the numbers I dialed and they were correct. My appointment to get a quote was for 12:00 to 2:00. They never showed up. I called them back at 3:45 and said don’t bother coming.

Johanson Painting painted the exterior of our house and power washed parts of the exterior and also did some minor repair work around the windows. They were very professional, did a great job and once scheduled, they were very fast. I would recommend them to others.

Johanson is my "go-to" painter. I have used them for years in two different homes. Don Johanson is professional and aims to please his clients. Besides painting, they have also supplied handyman services. I will continue to use them.

The experience was not as well. They came within three weeks after I bought the Big Deal for the job. I was happy with the quality but not with how much they accomplished, and they didn’t follow my directions. I supplied the paint. I gave them instructions to have a day’s worth of accomplishment completed in a day. I said that it was important to get it done in a day rather than do it at super high quality, but they decided that they were going to do it in the way that it should be done, therefore they only got about 50 percent of the job done. They put themselves in a position to then say at the end of the day that they were only 50 percent done and they got to come back for another day. I said no and got rid of them. It is high quality work but poor value to me. I paid for eight hours of painting. They pulled in my driveway at the beginning of the eight hours. The eight hour ticker had started when they unloaded their truck. They took a 15 minute break in the morning, a 15 minute break in the afternoon and an hour off for lunch. Their day ended when the last minute of the eight hours ended as they packed up their truck. So, of the eight hours, I received may be six hours worth of painting. I didn’t think that was a good value or professional. I also instructed them to focus more on certain aspects of the painting. They chose to do it their own way, which ended up them painting much less than I wanted them to achieve.

I have been using Johanson for many years in my former home and now in my new home. They are prompt, thorough and professional. Don does a great job analyzing what's needed then following up to make sure all is done to my satisfaction. I had a very tight time frame in the new home before I had to move in and Don and his men worked hard to meet the move-in deadline, working Saturdays. I am a very satisfied customer and will continue to call upon them to do additional work.

Donald was prompt, courteous and answered all questions. He was hopeful but not able to commit to doing the work before next spring.

After Mr. Johanson came out and was very nice and provided me a written quote on the spot, I obtained additional quotes. Several days later, I called back and indicated on my message that I had some questions/clarifications about the quote. I called several times, and no one bothered to call me back. I had obtained their name originally through another source, not Angie's List. so, I contacted that company and told them that I was completely dissatisfied with the lack of a response. Because I obtained their name through this service, and I presume the service contacted them, someone then called me back. However, no explanation was given for the lack of response, simply a "sorry." My guess is they determined the job was under-bid and didn't want to honor the price. I would never waste time contacting them again.

We are very happy. They were prompt, neat, friendly, and did a wonderful job. We had to ask for a last-minute rescheduling and they were quite flexible.

They only painted the walls and they didn't paint the ceilings or baseboards. It wasn't a good deal at all. I ended up spending 1,000 dollars because we didn't specify the finer points.

The customer service was terrible. They would never call me back and I ended up just getting a refund on the deal.

They came out on time. They were professional and looked on everything before giving me a quote. They were rated highly that they did a good job so I decided to get a quote from them.

Went fine. Someone came out and looked at everything we wanted painted. We had just bought the house and wanted it painted before we moved in. We had to pay extra for a few additional things. They did a good job and had it done in 2 days. We had one complicated situation and he went hrough our options and we are happy with the choice that was made.

I did not have a good experience and I was not very happy. They did not do a thorough job and the cost was higher than I expected. They found that additional things needed to be fixed and I asked them to give me an estimate. They went ahead and did the job, but the bill was higher than I thought. I wish they had given me an estimate before they did the job. Also, the general contractor wasn't even on site -- once. The general contactor only came when the job was done to collect the check. Had he come over and had I been able to communicate with him and get the estimate, then I could have decided whether I wanted to go ahead or not. The price was not too good, but the quality was okay.

Our bedroom has a vaulted ceiling and lots of strange angles. The painter sent did all the prep, painting, and clean-up on his own. The work was done well and completed in two days, as promised. Aside from an initial miscommunication in scheduling, all went exactly as we expected. We were, overall, very please.

They painted a bedroom and a bathroom. They also painted the ceilings. There was an additional cost and they let me know up front. Scheduling an appointment took longer than I had anticipated. They completed the work in two days and cleaned up after the job was complete. When the crew was up high, they even offered and changed light bulbs that were burnt out for me. They were very polite and accommodating. I felt safe having them in my home. His workers were outstanding and they did an incredible job.

They did come out and give me an estimate about a year ago. They said it was going to be about $8,800 plus painting supplies. I had to buy supplies, that was just for the labour. They seemed to be able to do a good job but I wasn't willing to pay that. It seemed like he guy knew what he was talking about. They looked like they could have done a good job, I don't know.

They were on time and did a great job...they finished on time and the price was great!

This company was dependable and very efficent. Mr. Johanson follows up with any call immediately. The company deserves 5 stars.

The communication from the company was limited after the initial quote. I requested two separate quotes, given that I knew the upstairs work would require wallpaper removal. The initial quote was for the entire house, and it took a while (at least 2 weeks) to get the quote divided. After the initial quote with the house tour, the owner no longer answered any call, and the staff always had to contact him. The painter who came out was professional and nice. I was not,however, told that I needed to move the furniture. He said that normally the rooms are all ready for him. He did, however, move the pieces away from the wall and back for his work. There was significant dust after the first day, and with the work completed on the second day it was better (still dust, but less). The edges of the baseboards were still uneven. The trim was not included in the price. The ceiling was very nice. The back wall was nice, but again, because I chose a different color, the edges were a little obvious. After not hearing from the company for over a month, I had found out that they did not receive my signed contract. They did not call me, but I was following up. The day the painter was done, the company called for the credit card information for the paint cost. They called 4 times for this and were polite about the request. I just would have appreciated more follow up when they already had my money, but I had not had the service done.

Things went well. We have used them multiple times and they have always been very professional.

Previous color was a mid-toned mud brown throughout condo and I wanted it to be completely painted a white color. The place was vacant so the painters had the run of the place. The person making the estimate thought that it would be a one coat deal and that was one of the problems. The amount of time to complete the job doubled, the cost did not. After moving in about 2.5 years ago, there has been a problem with bubbles on the wall that if punctured, causes the paint to peel down to the brown colored paint. The paint also always comes off if anything with a hard edge (framed pictures, bowl, glass, lamp, etc) is touching the wall, leaning into the wall, for a day or so. I could peel all the paint off it seems if I had a go at it. Don't know what the problem is. Maybe acrylic over an oil-based paint? Not sure they primed before painting which could definitely cause this problem. Overall, a very poor job. It would have been better to pay twice as much or even more for a better job. At some point, I will have to have my whole place painted again. I enlisted the services of this company because they featured a coupon with Angie's List which reduced the cost of the job considerably.
