Very professional

We added the following spaces to our home by finishing the basement: two bedrooms, a full bath, a half bath, a media area with adjacent bar, a poker room, a pool table room, a gaming area, a kids' area, a workout room and a large storage area. The basement is completely drywalled throughout with baseboards and crown moldings. There is high quality cabinetry and granite counters in the bathrooms and bar. The media area, bar, powder room and poker room all have tile flooring. The storage area with mechanicals has a painted cement floor that is easy to clean. The workout room has a foam rubber flooring similar to the flooring you would find in a regular gym. The rest of the basement has carpeting. The full bath is a jack and jill situation between the two bedrooms and has a walk-in shower with tile to the ceiling and a separate area with a double sinks. The bedrooms are carpeted and have large closets. There are custom touches throughout. Overall the project went great. Jim Haffey and his workers were all professionals. There were constant updates and check-ins throughout the entire project. No question or concern was overlooked. This is the second time we have used Jim. We used him for our basement in our first home and we sought him out again for the basement in our current home. If the need arises, we would use him again for any project around our home. You would be hard pressed to find a more detail-oriented, honest person with whom to deal. We couldn't be more pleased.

I needed a skilled carpenter to design and build a tricky diagonal staircase down to a new patio which had been installed. Jimmy figured out exactly what was needed and gave me a fair estimate. I hired him, and then he and his crew got to work. They poured new footings for the porch, modified the existing porch to accommodate the new diagonal staircase, and built the staircase exactly as specified. They also re-decked the existing porch and added railings. Jimmy was highly skilled and the overall experience was excellent. I don't know if a lot of other carpenters could have handled a job this complex. I would definitely hire him again and I highly recommend J. Haffey Construction to anyone needed remodeling/decking/etc.

The overall project went very well. It was a very high quality deck worth the price. Jim was detail oriented and you could see he took pride in his work. He often referred the deck as "our" deck. We will have him back to replace our kitchen counters. He always would explain what was going on with project and what to expect. He was very professional. The worksite was always clean when he left for the day. Our old deck was in disrepair. The wood was rotting and continued restaining maintenance was tiresome. I almost had to have people sign a waiver before coming onto the deck. We had heard of no maintenance Trex deck and asked Jim to give us a quote. It is high end product and more labor intensive to install since the deck fastners are hidden from view, but the end result was outstanding. As with any remodeling project there were surprises, but they were resolved to complete satisfaction. It was discovered the prior deck installers left part of the house wall exposed under the deck rotting the sill and allowing rodents to enter. Jim made it right and no more worries.

High quality work. I am a repeat customer (3x). Jim is a pleasure to work with and very honest. He doesn't cut corners. He's very reliable and fair. Not the cheapest, but you will be happy with the results.

We had a fantastic experience with Jim. He was very professional and honest with us from the start. We were toying with the idea of finishing our basement and invited a couple contractors over to talk with us. Jim was the last contractor we spoke with and we knew by the end of the meeting that we were going to hire him. By the end of our first meeting, he took all the measurements of the space and we discussed what we wanted to use the space for. Taking all that into consideration, Jim worked up preliminary drawings to show us what we could do. Within a month of meeting him, he had designed the space to our liking and we had signed a contract with him. Jim started the project on schedule and finished it on time. He was here every day he said he would be and at the time he said he was going to be. Our goal was to have a completed basement by the 2006 Super Bowl and he was putting up the last light fixture that morning. We've never had work done in our home that went as smooth and as quick as we did with Jim. Every person he brought in associated with our project was professional, informative, and friendly. We highly recommend him and have continued to use him on a variety of projects since the completion of our basement. If you want an honest, straight-talking contractor or handyman, Jim Haffey is the guy to call.

This was an excellent experience, top to bottom. We needed to screen a pair of ugly A/C units from a patio view. We called several fence companies, but only two showed up and they weren't willing to give us what we wanted. A friend recommended J Haffey Construction to us. We had heard that they do lots of kitchens and bathrooms, in addition to general construction work. Jimmy Haffey came right out, gave us an estimate, and we hired him on the spot. Within a week, we had a beautiful, painted, decorative fence which was exactly what we needed and asked for. This company is professional, prompt, and friendly.
