Green Attic Insulation

Aweful. I called to make an appointment but the recording sent me to website to schedule. Twice they never showed up during the day/window that they were supposed to.

Excellent! Great communication. Arrived on time and did a fantastic job. I will use them again and refer them to friends and neighbors.

Excellent job on a long and difficult job in the high/humid heat of August. They were competitively priced and professional.

Green Attic staff were helpful and cleaned up after the work was done. Price cited include reduction due to rebate from utility.

All parts of the work went pretty smoothly, including the initial phone contact, scheduling and performing the initial assessment, getting the quote, scheduling the work, and executing the work. We appreciated that Green Attic does blown-in insulation from the outside, which minimizes the impact to the inside of the house. Green Attic is an EPA lead-certified contractor, which was important to us because of our small children. It is a premium we were willing to pay. Green Attic kept the jobsite tidy and our house and property were in good shape after the work was done. A few stray bits of insulation were found around the lawn afterwards but it was minimal. There were a few minor issues that arose during and after execution but Green Attic handled them very well. 1) when sealing the interior walls in preparation for blowing in the insulation, they missed one spot in our basement laundry nook. When the insulation was blown in from outside, it flooded into that nook. Green Attic did a nice cleanup of the area. 2) partway through the work, we noticed that the quote included insulation in the new part of the house, which wasn't needed. We let the workers know so they wouldn't start working on the new part of the house and contacted Green Attic management. Although this was our miss when we signed the contract, Green Attic was willing to adjust the scope of work during the project and significantly reduced the price on the quote to reflect the work that was actually done. 3) after the work had been completed, we noticed one piece of exterior siding that was re-installed out of place. We let Green Attic know and they came by to fix it with no additional cost. We had a good experience overall and appreciate the quality of the work.

That was okay. That was probably 3 or 4 weeks after I called them. They left their equipment here and had to come back and get it. They were expensive, more expensive than others. After I had another one done, some of their recommendations were not inline with what others ended up talking about. Their quote for doing insulation was just really expensive.

Was a wonderful experience from beginning (the assessment) to end (the attic insulated). Oksana was great in communicating with me via Angie's list mail to keep me updated, answer questions... The team was great! Very hard-working, professional, respectful, kind men came up with excellent solutions and went above and beyond what we were expecting. Charlie, the foreman, decided that putting in a new floor (lots of work for all of the team!) and blowing more insulation under it and the original floor both was the best solution. Sam and Michael cut and brought up endless plywood and materials to Charlie who did a superb job of making the floor. He also put a lip around it so our boxes would not fall off into the eaves insulation. Charlie decided to construct and insulate a large lid over the staircase to further keep the heat from escaping. We had moved all our boxed, etc to one side of the attic. They were kind enough to move them as they needed to and then covered it all with plastic to avoid excess dust when blowing in the insulation. The project was bigger than originally expected, so the team made an effort to come back a third day after finishing a job that was scheduled for that day. Dumitru came out then to inspect and reassess with his machine the insulation results. He gave a thorough inspection of the house again ( 1 hour) and gave us very useful suggestions for safety and reducing our drafts. The team came out a last time to do things Dumitru wanted done that were going above and beyond expectations. So---A GREAT experience with great results and very helpful employees all along the way. I highly recommend this company for insulation needs. AND the materials are safe and "green".

Went fine. Received lots of good information for the house. disappointing that the company didn't know anything about utility rebates. The goal of a service should be to save money for the customer. Big miss on their part which is leading me to get other bids.

very responsive, very knowledgeable. the energy report was very thorough. our project took about 5 days to complete. the men were very respectful and punctual. the job itself was done very well. we had an issue with how our items in the attic were treated (we had to move a lot of storage and it was more thrown than moved) however, the owners were reponsive to that complaint and responded with a price discount. all in all we are very satisfied with the job done.

I worked with Andrei and he was great. Even before our appointment, he described in detail the process and what I needed to do before the appointment. He arrived for the appointment on time, if not a little early. We walked the entire house from room to room, and he explained exactly where the problem spots were in our house and where we need extra insulation or repair. He used an infrared camera to visually show where the problem spots were. Afterwards, he was prompt to email me a complete report (including pictures) and quote.

I really appreciated his detailed explanation of everything required as well as his explanation of things that we can do ourselves much more cheaply. I am looking forward to booking their services!

Andrei and Oxana are a great team. Oxana is the contact person and very efficient and helpful. Andrei is the insulation pro- very knowledgeable and also helpful. We have booked them to do our attic insulation.

House seemed drafty and needed some advice on where we could improve the efficiency of our home. Green Attic came out on a Saturday and gave us a very detailed inspection and pointed out where we could make improvements. Also pointed areas in which we could have professional services done by Green Attic. The quote was very detailed on next steps and gave us a list of priorities as to which needed to be done. This way we can break up the projects. Tech answered all of our questions and was great when we asked to inspect out of the way places like 2nd attic and crawl space. Look forward with working wit Green Attic on future projects.

Initially, I purchased a home energy audit through an Angie's List Big Deal. I was impressed with the thoroughness of the inspection, which really showed me why we needed more insulation and where. It also revealed a mold problem in our attic. Ultimately, Green Attic had a price for the mold remediation that our condo association could live with (as opposed to others which were much higher), and our attic (shared with our next door neighbors in our townhouse development) was treated for mold. We elected to have the insulation work done by Green Attic at the same time. They arrived on time (a big plus in my book) and returned the second day of the project at the time I specified, so that I would not be late for work. They covered the carpeting and draped plastic in the closet where the attic opening is, to keep the mess from entering the house. At my request, they also performed additional work to add caulk and other insulation around windows, in outlets, etc. I felt like I was dealing with people who knew what they were doing.

The representative from Green Attic Insulation came over in October 2014 and took several infrared (IR) images of my home. He focused on doors, windows and external walls and was able to detect insulation inefficiencies based on the readings - they are, of course, selling insulation, so there was some up-selling, but overall the visit went well. He took images throughout the entire house and promised he would share those with me, as that was part of the promotion I purchased through Angie's list. I kept following up with them (it is now Dec 2015) but was unsuccesful at obtaining the promissed IR images, so I paid $55 for a very inflated estimate, as the services promised were never delivered. I would now like a refund. Beware of their scam!

It was fine, but because our attic was insulated incorrectly (we just purchased the house) and he claimed there were substantial amounts of mold in the attic, he couldn't conduct the blower test. So, all we got from this was huge amounts of stress that our house was full of mold. We subsequently had a reputable mold inspector out and he said that while it was insulated incorrectly, there wasn't really much mold (typical amounts for an attic) and that it seemed to be inactive, and it wasn't really that big of deal. Since then we had the insulation removed to air it out, and haven't explored insulation since.

Good! Efficient, helpful and timely. We are scheduling more work with them soon!

It was OK but wouldn't do it again

website, and in an attachment sent to me by Green Attic via email to advise me on what would happen during their visit. The Customer Service rep was responsive and noted the errors were do to a misunderstanding. Ultimately this was a waste of my time. My concerns were later addressed with a pointed and curt email from Green Attic. I do not like to be treated disrespectfully and cannot recommend Green Attic.

They were thorough in identifying areas that needed better insulation and sealing. The inspection was a good deal. The issue I had on price was what seemed to be an extremely high price to add insulation in the attic. I found a much more reasonable contractor also on Angie's List.

We signed up for an energy audit when Green Attic was offering a deal through Angie's List. The man who gave the audit was very knowledgeable and professional, although it turned out that they could not use the blowers because our house is over 100 years old and we have not done asbestos remediation. This should have and could have been flagged when we booked the appointment. The person who did the audit offered many helpful suggestions when he was at our house, but we never received any written audit or energy assessment until I contacted Green Attic again months later. The documents we eventually received consisted of a work proposal. There was no "assessment" other than a 1-page Microsoft Word chart that contained a generic description of our house.

It went well they were extremely thorough. Offered a lot of insight on why we are having so many problems.

We haven't followed-up with the provider, so cannot share any details.

I learned a lot about my old building and where air leaks were located. So, the energy audit was very helpful. Unfortunately, I couldn't get this company back out again to give me a quote on providing any insulation services. I still have not done any insulation beside some of my own DIY gap sealing.
