Andrei's crew were extremely professional, clean, personable and had a tremendous work ethic. A great room in the rear portion of the second floor of our home is open to the attic peak; the front half of the attic is unfinished and must be accessed by ladder. They blew the insulation along the peaked ceiling of the great room as well as into the unfinished part. It took two full days and because they needed even more insulation to finish the job returned on Saturday afternoon even though they had other jobs scheduled. The head of the crew, Demitri, took time to address all our questions. All were very sensitive to our desire to minimize any dust or dirt from the installation. They did a great job.

Excellent! Best inspection ever. Was great to meet Andrei and find out where my home is in need of some attention. The reverse air circulation together with the infrared camera sure told the entire story. After Andrei inspected the attic, he showed us the pictures and explained why the furnace is constantly running in the winter, and why the air conditioning is constantly running in the summer. I should point out that we had not talked about what we were experiencing in the house until well after his energy audit. It sure is excellent to learn that this can all be fixed and I look forward to Andrei's recommendation on how I can fix some things myself, and what the total cost for him to fix the rest would be. A very enlightening experience...thanks to Angies List and Andrei, our home will be energy efficient for the coming Chicago winter!

"Hi [member name removed]. Really? Thats what your rating is for us, an F? You bought a coupon in 2011 that expired in 2012. You contacted us in 2013, I still granted the coupon and explained that gas prices went up and my insulation supplier's prices went up because the material cost went up... I charged you $50 extra thats it! You paid $650 to insulate your attic (plus the 149 coupon), you got a $500 discount and you're still not happy about it. In a year max you'll get your money back on savings between cooling and heating, plus all the comfort of a nice insulated house. I guess that doesnt count for you. Why did you even choose as in first place? I bet you had other bids on the job but you choose us because we had the lower price. You dont work for free, we dont either. An F rating thats really under the belt. Why dont you rate our professionalism, all the follow ups, being on time, nice and clean, how well was the job done... I just dont get it... Good luck. I hope you review and your rating makes you feel better."

Excellent job. Very thorough, hard workers. They spent a lot of time doing the job right and we are very pleased with the results. It was a lot of work. The owner kept in contact with me before and during the job. He told me beforehand what was to be done, what was needed and sent all information ahead of time via email....including invoice, proof of insurance and infrared photos of temperature ratings in my attic. He was very helpful and I knew I was getting good service.
The workers were conscientious and friendly. They laid down tarp to keep the area they walked on clean; also offered to spray my tiled bathtub wall with the extra mold cleaning solution to kill mold that comes through the grout. They were happy to answer all my questions and explain what they were doing.
It's good to know there is nothing toxic in the insulation and that it is much safer and more fire-retardant than fiberglass or other types of insulation typically used. It also has better insulating properties.
I am sure we will have a much warmer house this winter and that the attic temperature will be far more regulated in the summer, now that we have everything brought up to standard with proper venting and insulation. I highly recommend Green Attic Insulation.

veI seen an ad from Angie's List informing of the energy efficiency evaluaiton. I signed up and paid the requested amount. I then recieved an e-mail from the company and we set a date for the evaluation. The company showed up at the time and date that we had set and did the evaluation which took about an hour.
Within two weeks I received a complete written evaluation with pictures and recommended work with a written estimate. It was an easy and good experience.
In September I made an appointment to the the recommended insulation installed, they showed up at the appointed time and did the work. Before leaving the workers cleaned up everything and left. I met with the work manager and he reviewed with me everything that they did according to the job contract.
Within two weeks I received a complete written evaluation with pictures and recommended work with a written estimate. It was an easy and good experience.

We purchased this assessment as a Big Deal. It was very easy to schedule the appointment and the technician came out on time (and had been willing to schedule the appointment on a Saturday, which we really appreciated). He set up the blower door and we went around as he took infared pictures of the whole house, showing them to us and explaining the various issues. We knew there would be some problems but we had no idea of the extent of the air leakage. This was very interesting and educational for us.
We discussed various options and gave him a budget. We expected that we would receive some kind of written report of the problems he had found, in addition to his company's proposal. We heard nothing for several days and after we contacted him he did come back with a few options within our budget (as well as an option to really do it right that was over our budget) but no report of the energy assessment. This was disappointing as we had been hoping to actually have a report, but overall the experience of walking through the house with him as he did the testing told us pretty much what we needed to know.

Perfect except that we had some pipes not connected and insulation came through the vents. They cleaned up the house the same afternoon, but not the vents which ended up being a problem. Recognize they could not have anticipated that the pipes were not connected together well.

I would recommend If you are looking for an trustworthy contractor to insulate your attic (and do it in a green way), I would strongly consider Andrei and his team.

Professional, covered shoes when he entered the house (always a plus). Explained the process as he was analyzing air leakage on house. The only major negative I have is that I was expecting a whole house audit to be just that. However, complete exterior walls were not checked. I have a 60-year-old house and feel that insulation is missing in places on the walls. Only the windows, doors and seams were measured for airflow. I would have liked the entire outside walls tested so I know if I need to remove some wall to add insulation. My entire house has vaulted ceilings so there was no attic to check. My house is pretty airtight at the seams that were tested. However, the analysis did point out a few weaknesses that need to be addressed. I would highly recommend this analysis and this provider. He was extremely nice and informative. Even though I didn't get the type of analysis I was expecting, I felt that the service was well worth the price I paid. Even if I had to pay full price, it would have been worth it.

Andrei knows his business well. We hired him to come do some of the work next month. He is particularly good at helping to work out how to use the energy tax credits to best advantage, so that I am getting important work done I may not have been able to do otherwise. Review is for the infrared and blower assessment, not the future work.

We used the Angie's List deal for $49 for the service. Because our house was larger than the square footage allowed on the deal, they extended the same discount to cover the entire house. That was wonderful.
Andrei and his son arrived right on time.They set up and started their negative air flow. For our house it took about an hour. They went into each attic (our house has 4 of varying accessibilities), the basement, the crawl space and all rooms and took both photos and images of all walls.

It went very well. Our attic was overtaken by squirrels and they really messd up the insulation. Green Attic Insulation Inc spent the whole day here and they worked very hard to get it cleaned up. They did as good as they could under the circumstances.

I purchased an attic insulation package discount but the actual quote for my home was much higher than I expected and I'm a pretty experienced construction estimator. 36 years! So, I kissed the $125 goodbye and moved on. Won't do it again! Once you purchase a "deal" you feel sucked in to move forward with the purchase. Who wants to lose money, after all. May work for some, but it was a bad experience for me.

Everything went according to plan. The guys showed up in the morning and went right to work. They even removed a birds nest from one of the roof vent fans (which was not working). After that they got the fan to working wonderfully. At the end of each day
(two and a half total) they cleaned and vacuumed the working areas. I will probably have them come back and to the basement later on in the year.
