The crew arrived on time, work was done as promised.Ken came by to check in but didn't need to stay long as his employees really know they're job. Clean-up was quick and thorough. The only evidence that they'd been here ? Our two new trees! We're looking forward to spring!! Would definitely recommend Browns Tree Service to anyone. Thanks Ken (and your great crew) !!!

Work was done as planned. Tree removal was a HUGE job. They arrived the day they were expected. Clean up was good. One issue is still outstanding and that is a splash guard needs to be replaced that was broke in the process. Here it is, months later and I'm still following up with them. Other than that, it all went fine.

Called to inquire about getting some trees planted to provide blockage along back fence. Marty came out and spent a good amount of time going through all the different options. We settled on arborvitaes. I asked that they come when I was home and he said they wold call to schedule. Got another call in middle of day while i was at work from someone other than Marty saying the crew was on the way. I explained that i wanted no work done while I was not at home as i had gotten burned before with another tree service because no one was there to supervise the work. After arguing with me a bit they relented and rescheduled the work later in the day when I got home. Luckily Marty came out with the crew to supervise. He is always good about any followup questions I have and is very knowledgable. If you go with Brown make sure you work with Marty as I found the other person is not easy to work with.

I chose Brown based on price alone. I had obtained 3 quotes, and Brown's was lowest by a sizeable ($400+) margin. The company had done other work in my neighborhood without complaints so choosing Brown was a no-brainer. Brown would have gotten in "A" in all categories but I had to mark them lower in professionalism. After meeting with Martin and receiving a verbal quote he had indicated a written quote would be sent via email. After a day and a half without response, I called the company asking for the written proposal. After receiving the email, I replied (via email) that I'd like to get started on the tree removal and asked whether I should mail in the acceptance letter or set something up by phone. I didn't hear anything back that day. The next day, while I was at work, I got a phone call from my wife saying that Brown was at the site and in the process of removing the tree! OK, great for promptness, but I didn't realize that we had an accepted contract. It wasn't a big deal since I was would be using the company anyway, but it was quite unconventional. In another situation, since the tree wasn't marked, this may have resulted in a negative review ... it was obvious which tree was to be removed in my case. From that point, everything went without incident and I was very pleased with the results. I would not hesitate in recommending Brown Tree Service, but just make sure there is a clear understanding of what is to be done and when it would occur.

They weren't the easiest to work with. I told them to let me know when they're going to arrive. They never did. They came and I wasn't home. So, they had to make a second visit. It all depended on where I wanted the tree. The weather was really bad so I figured they weren't go to show up, and they did. I didn't know they could work in bad weather conditions. They also recommended I cut down two big pine trees. What they did was well. I just didn't feel comfortable having the pine trees removed.

They are hard workers. They come when you expect them and they are very knowledgable about trees.

I had emailed Brown's to set up an appointment for Martin to give me an estimate. He just showed up at the front door one day with a smile. I had used them before. He checked out all the trees I had asked about. Martin explained to me that the tree would benefit from having the cables on the Silver Maple, because there is a split in the lower trunk which leads to two parts of the trunk, and they would help with high winds. He also let me pay for the cables next year. So we set up a time for them to come. That was basically my only problem. I couldn't wait any longer for them to come on that day. When I got home there were 4 or 5 hugh trucks on my street! They were finally there. When I got out of my car, the one crew was not sure what to cut on my neighbors tree. It was hard to explain because of a communication problem. By pointing, I was able to tell them which branch was to be cut to keep it off my house and roof. They were so quick with the clean up and grinding up all the branches.

They were very professional people. They knew their job and exactly what to do, and it was done fast, quick and neat.

They removed the tree in a VERY short time. Came back at a later time to grind the stump and then replaced the tree with a beautiful flowering Pear. We have also used them for landscaping and other tree services and are happy with them. The only difficulty is sometimes pinning them dow n to that 1st date. Once that is set they are good as gold.

Everything went fine. They were fine with responsiveness, punctuality and professionalism. Their price and quality were good too. It was excellent. I’ve used them in the past and I will use their services again in the future.

They had written the date of service down incorrectly but when I called to confirn the date and time, they apolgized and completed the work on the scheduled day. The work was completed in a timely fashion as they have done for us over the past 10 years. His crew continues to be outstanding and very considerate of how we want the tree trimmed out.

Marty was very professional and came and gave us the best quote by far. I had about 9 different estimates and they were the best price. Most other companies were about 2-3 weeks behind on their availability, but these guys were out in a day or two and the stump was ground a couple days later. I would recommend them to anyone - I was very pleased with their work. They even cut the logs down into firewood size for me to burn in my fireplace after I split them. Great job!

I'll update this review when the work is actually finished. The tree has been cut down and removed - this was done in October 2008. But the stump is yet to be grinded. So far, I have not paid anything, as their invoice stated not to pay until the stump had been removed. I'm just wondering when this will happen? They came within days of my initial call to cut down the tree, but it's been months now since they've returned to finish to job. I received a call about a month ago saying they had not forgotten me and they would be in the area the next week to grind the stump. They did not show and I have not heard from them since. Since it's been winter, the fact that the stump is still there really hasn't bothered me. I just think it's strange that they have not come back to complete the job OR to collect any payment.

Brown Tree Service was scheduled to remove the one thirty foot pine tree but they also removed an additional tree for free because it was a saftey hazard. We recommended them to our neighbor and they were able to help her remove a maple tree in her yard that was a saftey issue as well. The only problem was that they made a few holes in my yard with their equipment and they were a little difficult to get a hold of.

I've had them for about 6 years. They are not inexpensive, aren't super expensive. They do good work, so its worth the money. They are quick and efficient. They come when they say they will.

I called Mary for an estimate on Thursday 9/11. I accepted the proposal 9/17. They completed the work 9/18 and did a great job. I've used them before and told them they could come while I was not home. I happened to be home and Arturo confirmed the work to be done with me and double -checked that I wanted to trim to raise the canopy of the trees. Very professional. Very easy to reach--they even hire an answering service. The trees look great.

They left some stumps and trees they were supposed to remove and took out a tree I wanted to keep. Sent several emails to Brad after work was done but never received a response. Even though price seemed reasonable you get what you pay for. Don't use these guys if you want the job done right.

Tree #1, Everything was fine with his assessment of this tree. He quoted me a price to remove it, as I requested. Tree #2, Marty recommended that this tree be removed as well. He seemed overly interested in selling me a replacement tree. Of the 5+ estimates I got, Marty was the only one to recommend the removal of this tree. At one point he mused, ''I kill a lot of trees.'' I got a bad vibe from this since no other company mentioned anything about this tree being sick/damaged. As I said, he kept focusing on the new tree he'd put in place of the one he'd tear down.

CALLED THE COMPANY, AND THEY SENT SOMEONE THE NEXT DAY TO TAKE A LOOK AT THE WORK AND MAIL AN ESTIMATE TO US WITHIN 3 DAYS. THEY CALLED THE SAME DAY OF THE ESTIMATE AND SAID THAT THERE WAS A LOT OF WORK AND WOULD LIKE TO GO OVER IT WITH US ON MONDAY. MADE AN APPOINTMENT FOR BETWEEN 9-10 AM, BUT NO ONE SHOWED UP. NEXT DAY, SOMEONE FROM THE COMPANY CALLED AND WANTED TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT TO GO OVER THE WORK. THE COMPANY SOUNDED KNOWLEDGEABLE, BUT WE WERE NOT HAPPY ABOUT THE MISSED APPOINTMENT.

DID A GREAT JOB, BUT PRICE SEEMED EXTREMELY HIGH.
