Al's Shoe Service

When I arrived with the shoes and boots, Larry greeted me warmly like we were old friends. We chatted briefly as he looked over the items to be repaired, made suggestions and set expectations for the shoe and boot which had become chew toys for our puppy. He gave me the price quote, which I felt was reasonable, and let me know when they could be ready. On the day before the items were to be ready, I received a call letting me know that they were ready to go. When I showed up to pick them up, Larry was playing flute with a friend on trumpet in the front area of the store while his helper (I can't remember her name) brought out the items. We were happy with the repair work and the price ended up being slightly lower than quoted. Great work, very friendly service, and an impromptu concert. What more can you ask for?

Does a great job. Price seems reasonable. Comparable in quality and price to other Birkenstock repairs, which required mailing shoes in. Excellent work, pleasant guy.

He did a great job! The repair on my flats were amazing. With that said I had to take my boots back but after the second visit I haven't had any problems with the boots.

My mother's dog chewed the strap off her expensive leather diabetic shoes. Larry took one look at it, asked if I could wait twenty minutes, and got right to work . He firmly stitched the strap back on, then noticed that the other shoe's strap was also starting to rip so he stitched that one too. Then he cleared all the dog hair from the Velcro fasteners, and throughly cleaned, buffed and sprayed both shoes so they looked like new. I was amazed he did all this for only $12.00! (During the short wait, I really enjoyed checking out all the photos and family memorabilia in Larry's shop; kind of like a small museum)

Larry is very professional and conscientious. I've never been in a shoe repair shop that was immaculate and very organized.

All repairs/work is examined carefully and explained in detail. Estimates are given. Not only that, Larry has a wonderful personality and sense of humor. You will feel like you are receiving old fashioned friendly service that was once common place. I've never had to wait more than a few days for the shoes and he did a rush service for me when I needed my wedding shoes dyed in a hurry.

Everything went super from beginning to end. I needed the shoes to be repaired before a trip coming up in a couple of days. I called to inquire on a day when the shop is normally closed. Mr. DeAngelo happened to be in his shop on his day off, returned my call, and let me bring my shoes in that day. The shoes were ready the following day, as promised, and he even repaired some defects that I hadn't noticed. In addition to his excellent work, Mr. DeAngelo is friendly, courteous, and a pleasure to deal with.

Larry did a great job. We were so impressed with Larry's friendliness, that we kept returning with more of our other shoes to be repaired or simply just shined. He was even able to stitch a belt loop onto my digital camera case (something not even a nearby luggage store would (or was willing) to do.

Outstanding work. I was able to salvage four pairs of shoes that I love. It is as if I have gained 4 new pairs that I am instantly in love with. Excellent work and customer service.
