Description of Work: Correct a botched job and beautifully prepare a space for our new, smaller window. The original window opening was too big. Someone else had worked on the window and done the job messily and incorrectly. Our new window was already ordered to size and there was a timeline. Every aspect of this work was well done in a timely and clean way. We hope to use Hynek's services in the future.

Description of Work: The lintel over a basement block window cracked and the bricks were starting to come down. Hynek replaced the glass block window (about a dozen blocks), the lintel, and the bricks. They also tuck-pointed cracks around the house, matching the existing color perfectly. | |They were prompt, efficient, and clean. The only issue I had with them is that they didn't explain to me what they were doing and their English wasn't the greatest. Putting their communication skills aside, their work is very good and I would definitely use them again.

Description of Work: They rebuilt my chimney from the roofline up, installed new clay flue liner, poured a new concrete cap and replaced the rain hoods. |They had it done in a little over 2 days. In fact they started on a Saturday and had the job about half done that day. |

Description of Work: I had 1 door thresh hold and 2 window sill pitched towards the house. They removed and reset them with the proper pitch away from the home. They also did some minor tuckpointing and caulking. | |They were great and when I had questions, they came back and showed me what was done. Could not be more pleased. My husband is a general contractor and thought the job was excellent. What a great guy and very hard working. He has done work for my brother for years. He was professional and the job he did was first class!
Description of Work: We replace a window with a sliding glass door. Hynek added a steel lintel, limestone sill and toothed in brick around the new opening. He used existing brick and matched the mortar perfectly.

His pricing is fair and reasonable and he always comes in on budget -- there were no surprises in the pricing. Hynek is a skilled mason and a hard worker. I would highly recommend him to anyone and have many more projects for Hynek in the future.
Description of Work: Hynek did an outstanding job on the following projects: chimney rebuild, tuckpointing, concrete (form/pour), bluestone stairs design and install, arched brick doorway design and contruction, brick shed rebuild, brick wall build (both structural and decorative). Inside the house, Hynek gutted and rebuilt a bathroom for us (drywall, tile, painting) and repaired the stonework around the fireplace. Hynek also does general handy man work such as shutter hanging, window installation, sump pump installation, driveway reconstruction, and other miscellaneous but important projects.

 + 0 moreHynek was always on time and did everything he said he would do. He had the old chimney taken down in less then a day. All the old debris was removed promptly. His work over all was excellent. I asked for references and every one of the people said it was one of the best services they had ever experienced, and I have to agree with them. Hynek made suggestions that were very good and added to the overall quality of the job. I got four estimates and his prices were wonderful. I will be using his services on two more masonry jobs in the next few months.
Description of Work: Tear down old chimney and build a new one with the material I chose. Take away all old bricks and material. Rebuild cement top. Replace chimney caps. Caulk and seal all flashing. Did additional cement work on front stoop and wall repair in basement and foundation walls.
