The job went great. Hynek waited until there was a warm enough break in the weather to get the job done. He called to schedule the work, was on time, and completed it quickly and professionally. I'd use them again.

Once we had taken care of the prep work I called up Hynek and asked him to come by to meet with my contractor to make sure everything was in order. He and a coworker stopped out over the weekend, we spoke about which bricks to use, where/how to end the wall, I gave him the code to the lock box and scheduled the job for the following Monday. He called bright and early to let me know they were starting. By the evening when I got home to take a peek the wall was built, the surrounding space was clean and I was happy.

Called for estimate (I got three of them). They were very nice, prompt in getting an estimate back to me, and was available to work within the time frame. I felt very confident in their skills and would have gone with them, but went with someone with a more direct connection. I would not hesitate to call them again.

I was very happy and pleased with the work that was done,both chimneys looked great. i would recommend and definitely use Hynek again.

Hynek answered the phone right away when I called...and came out within a day to give us a quote on repairing a chimney cap. We ended up going with another provider, because we needed a flue installed--and he doesn't do that type of work. His quote seemed fair and he was very responsive. I would definitely recommend him

The work was done quickly and looks great, especially the chimney. Hynek was able to exactly match the color and texture of our 50 year-old brick with new material. The cost was competitive and we were pleased with the work. Only downside was I had to do the work to get the building permit. We will definitely use Hynek again.

He came to look at the chimney. He suggested that I go on the roof and repair the chimney myself. He said he would send me an estimate. Once I received the estimate in the mail, to sign the estimate and send it back. He state that he would get started in two weeks. I mailed the estimate back, and he never called or showed up for the appointment.

The contractor providing the estimate was punctual and courteous, and my wife and I received proposal within a few days. The proposal included details regarding the job that we hadn't thought of but were very pleased with and the price was substantially less than we expected. The work was scheduled for only a day or two after our acceptance of the proposal. The workmen arrived on schedule, were courteous and professional, and were careful to clean up after the job was completed. Their work far exceeded our expectations and we are very pleased with the result. I would not hesitate one moment to recommend Hynek Construction for any masonry work.

Hynek responded promptly after the roofing arrangements were made. He did the job in one day, minimizing the inconvenience to my family. The job was done very professionally and looks fantastic. Cleanup was thorough.

The workers arrived on time & finished in one day, except for returning a couple of days later to remove a support and better attach a trim piece (which couldn't be done until the mortar had some time to set). They were professional and pleasant and the job cleanup was great (they left the inside of the garage cleaner than they found it!) The wall is now straight and the mortar joints very neat. I was very pleased!

In all, everything went well and the work was excellent. He removed all garbage and the house looks great!

I needed my chimney replaced and Hynek Construction gave the best price and was able to finish the work quickly. Communication was a bit of an issue as they didn't give much notice for when they were arriving for estimates or when they would begin work. But the overall outcome was very good.

I needed to have my front (concrete) step redone as it was crumbling away. The stone for the front door had also cracked and was in need of replacement. I called and Hynek was able to come out the next day for a consultation. He was very knowledgeable and straightforward. I received his detailed estimate within a few days and signed the contract about a week later. He knew that, in addition to fixing the front step/stone, I also planned to replace the front door, but could not do so until the stone was fixed. Though there was a slight delay while waiting for the concrete to arrive, Hynek came and fixed the stone immediately so that I would be able to get the doors done even though the step wasn't finished. In the end, both the concrete step and the front door stone look great and I was very pleased with the whole experience.

Very impressed. Hynek knows his masonry and his crew was perfect. The 'A' for price is for competitive pricing (compared to other quotes received). I chose Hynek based on reviews and he has earned another good one by me. My 1955 house has tan, custom brick not available any more. To replace some damaged brick, brick around the basement windows was "harvested" out and then mortared in place on the other side of the house. The basement windows that are going to be covered by a deck were bricked up with a "near match" brick, color approved in advance by me, and it didn't matter anyway since once the deck is up you'll never see them. So damaged brick was cut out in the front where is visible and replaced with matching brick from the window area. Very cool. While working, Hynek spotted a couple other small spots (holes from wall anchors) and without hesitation, patched them up, too. Hynek was able to fit my small job into his schedule rather quickly which helped me with my other home repair projects. I am very impressed with the workmanship.

Hynek and his team are very professional, knowledgeable, and good at what they do. The parapet walls were in pretty bad shape with some corners falling in. They rebuild everything with new, high quality bricks (I believe they used around 1,000 bricks on one wall, 1,300 bricks on another wall and a few hundred bricks on the garage wall). During the repair work, Hynek discovered more damage to one parapet wall and chimney which required more bricks/work than initially estimated. However, Hynek was very reasonable in including those items in the repair work, in most instances only charging me extra for the material. Hynek showed up every day at 7am and it took about 7 days to get everything done. Considering the scope of the work, I was very happy with that. With the repair of the parapet walls, I had also hired a roofer to properly fix the rubber roof. Hynek had a chance to talk with the roofer and discovered that the guy was planning on cutting corners and not properly installing the rubber roof onto the parapet walls. I was happy with his help on that as he could have just as simply ignored it since it really isn't his problem. In addition, he was able to get me in touch with someone who was able to install gutters on the garage and fix a window. In general, I am very happy with Hynek and his team. We are even planning some more work with him for next spring. He is honest and cares about doing a good job. The initial quoted price was neither the cheapest nor the most expensive. However, I think quality and honesty have a price and you can rest assured that Hynek will not run up charges when additional damage is found (when doesn't that happen?).

The team arrived exactly as promised (7AM) - gathered together and began removing our old brick walls to our porch. Within a week they had built our new brick walls which closely matched the color of our building bricks. Every day there was someone from the team at the site doing work and always kept in communication with me. Each day, when I returned home after work, and inspected the day's work, I was greatly impressed with their skills and dedication. Their clean up skills were perfect, nothing was left behind; always leaving the place looking great. The neighbors were questioned about their work habit, and I received growing reviews for the Hynek team. I definitely recommend their service and will look to them for any future work.

I received several estimates from other chimney repair companies didn't even bother to take a close look at my chimney. Hynek took the time to take a look and provide a reasonable estimate and a solution to reduce future issues. Hynek also took the time to find the closest match to my bricks that would be replaced. Work was performed quickly and the all debris was removed. My chimney looks great! Hynek and his crew are true professional.

Contractor responded in a timely manner to my inquiry, but advised that I was outside of his service area, although his profile indicated that I was well within his claimed service area. A followup question went unanswered. 9/8/2012 - Update Since I initially reviewed the contractor, I have spoken with him. It turns out that he responded to my followup questions for him, but that response was not delivered due to a technical issue with this service. I was impressed that he took the time to followup on the initially marginal review of his service. It is clear from my conversation with him that he would approach any job with a degree of professionalism that is uncommon amongst independent contractors. I have revised my review accordingly!

Promptly responded to my request for a quote. Professional and knowledgeable in discussing what he saw needed to be done, Took the time to describe what he would do, adding what in his view what did NOT need to be done that would save money. Result was the best proposal at the lowest cost. A misunderstanding arose regarding the Angie's List coupon. He failed to mention that he developed the quote already incorporated the Angie's List Coupon that I presented when accepting the contract. The issue was quickly resolved by compromise. Crew worked fast and well. The result is very good because of his taking the time to do a quality clean up after tearing down the old brickwork. When he identified additonal internal work that needed to be done I feared the old 'bait and switch' of a lowball quote was coming. But not so. He showed high integrity in doing even the work that could not be seen to the highest standard of quality at the price he originally quoted. Two neighbors were so impressed with what was going on they asked him to do smaller projects on their homes after he completed our job.

My Hynek and his team were pleasant to work with. Hynek was quick to arrive to take an estimation of what it would take to either repair or replace our complete chimney. Prompt return of email and phone call questions was appreciated. The crew was onsite early in the morning and stayed until early evening removing the old chimney and cleaning the area up. They made sure scaffolding was properly secured and work area protected from any potential weather. Upon completion of new chimney (rebuilt from roof upward), again the time was taken to clean up, seal and discuss any future protection. I also had another chimney tuckpointed, cap replaced and sealed during this time. I would use Hynek Construction again without reservation.

The project went very well. He did an excellent job from the estimate to the final work of installing the caps. I cannot say enough good things about Hynek and his construction company. I strongly recommend Hynek for any work involving chimney or masonry work. Hynek is very experienced and was able to understand everything that needed to be done to keep the job moving smoothly.

These projects were completed as proposed on a timely basis and in a very professional manner. The project estimate was complete and fairly priced. When work was completed, but roofers identified some additional chimney work needed, Hynek returned immediately to the site to address and resolve the issue. I will work with this contractor again when the opportunity presents.

Hynek was able to come out for an estimate within a few days of when I called him, and mailed me an estimate within a few days of that. He and his guys showed up on time, they just needed me to show them where a faucet and an outlet were and they were all set. When they finished they cleaned up after themselves. The whole job took less than a day and looks good.

Hynek was referred to us by Anyway Construction who was doing some concrete work for us. He was responsive to our initial request for a bids - although it did take a couple calls - and worked quickly on a Saturday to accomadate our schedule with the concrete pouring which couldn't happen until the tuckpointing was done.

Excellent overall impression. Needed to replace a chimney cap in a timely manner for a sale of my house. I got one quote on a Saturday morning and wanted to get a second quote before proceeding with the work which needed to be done about 3 weeks prior to the scheduled closing. Called Hynek construction, and owner answered immediately. Agreed to meet me at my house on the same day in the afternoon (after I got out of working). He emailed me his quote by 10 pm on the same Saturday evening. It was considerbly less than the initial quote, and he came back to remove/replace the chimeny cap that Thursday. It was a two day job with Hynek coming back on Friday to remove the temporary scaffolding used to pour the chimney cap. Chimney cap looks great. Hynek was very responsive to both my emails and phone calls. Once I had paid, I asked for a paid receipt with his license number as requested by the buyer of my house. He promptly mailed me the requested bill within two days of my payment. Definitely would hire again.
