Hynek and his crew did a fabulous job! Our chimneys look great. They were very professional. They worked quickly and efficiently and cleaned up when they had finished for the day. There were a few other small jobs that needed to be done and they were always very responsive and willing to accommodate. I can't say enough about how pleased we were with the work they did. I would hire them again in a minute and if I were you I would not look any further.

I emailed Hyneck Construction and Hyneck called me the next day. He came out to take a look and besides replacing the step, he noticed that we needed some caulking done on the sills. He emailed me a proposal the next day. As it was a small job, he was able to fit us into the schedule very quickly. He and his crew finished the job in no time and cleaned up beautifully. We also got a quote on some chimney work and plan to have Hyneck do that in spring/summer 2014. Completely satisfied with the entire transaction. Hyneck is personable, knowledgeable, upfront and professional. I hightly recommend Hyneck Construction.

The estimate was give to us in early spring. The decision was not made until June. The wait list was long was long but totally worth it.

Hynek came out to look at the problem. He pinpointed the issue and while he does not do that work, explained the best repair approach and gave me other suggestions to deal with the water issue that was causing the windows to leak. I appreciate him taking time to come out and look at the issue, his responsiveness (24 hours) and his helpfulness, even though this is not work he does. Class act! I will consider Hynek for any future masonry work I have. You should too!

Hynek was very professional. He gave good ideas and his prices were reasonable. He did the work promptly and it turned out very well. He cleaned up and it was very low impact. He was responsive in communication. I would definitely use him again.

I called about an estimate and he came in the evening the day of or day after my call. He sent me an estimate which was very fair (I had gotten three total). Hynek Construction and another contractor were pretty much the same quote. I sent back the contract and three weeks later they called to schedule the work. They came on time the day of the job and did the work. They came back the next day to finish up. The workers were very nice and took care not to damage the plants around the house. I was very happy with the service and so far feel they did a great job.

I rceommend Hynek Construction highly; They were very professional...true artists regarding brick work; The set up was complicated and was well done and our landscaping was protected. Each night they cleaned up, and they worked long hours for 5 days to get the job done. They were well organized. The price was not the cheapest estimate, nor was it the most expensive; They offered real value.

Hynek showed up the same evening that I called and asked for an estimate. I asked him to tuckpoint the chimney but he pointed out that the chimney was leaning and should be re-built, so he provided an estimate for both options. So within 24 hours of first contacting him I had an estimate in writing. We decided to go with the re-building option. The problem, he told us, was that his company was very busy and it might take 3 months for them to get to our job. When we told him that we were putting our house on the market and we would appreciate it if they could get to it as soon as possible, he promised to do what he could. Two days later he called and said they'd be there on Monday to start work. Wow! They showed up as promised and finished a very high quality job that day. I would definitely recommend Hynek and his company to anyone needing quality masonry work. Our experience was flawless.

I called this provider and asked him about doing some tuck pointing working on a wall in my house and he asked me when I wanted to have the work done and I said maybe next week. He said he couldn't do the work until next year! Don't call this man for service if you want work done anytime soon.

The work was actually done by Nick Guzej, an associate/friend of Hynek. Hynek wrote the proposal and acted as iternmediary initially. Nick has his own firm, GNW Construction, and he installs windows, doors, soffit and gutters. He is quite competent and conscientious.The job was completed by Nick in two days. Really looks good.

It went very well, we'll probably use them again, they were very pleasant.

Hynek came to tuckpoint the house which after 30 years much of the mortar was practially falling out of the walls. They didn't just patch the many holes but dug out about 10cm of mortar and that creates so-much dust so make sure all your windows and doors are closed securely But once that process is over with and the bricks are re-mortared then the work looks very impressive and I'm sure will put us in good stead for another 30 year The process seems to have caused a few bricks to disintegrate but they were all replaced with bricks that look so similar you would never know which were the replacesments We also had the Chimney done as ours was practuically leaning and everytime a storm came along I was half expecting to find it in next doors garden. Like the replacement brickwork in the walls, they attempted to match the brickwork of the chimney with that of the rest of the house and so we don't have anything looking too garishly out of place. Now I don't have to fear any high winds If I had one complaint it took about two months from signing the estimate for work to complete, but it's understandable, there was still snow on the ground and the temperature was often below freezing at the time I signed, then we had such a foul Spring that I guess finding a 4-day window was near impossible.

Hynek did a great job, and even identified some additional brickwork that needed to be done on my parents' garage. We've arranged for him to do that as a separate job.

Hynek was able to fit us into their schedule shortly after we returned the contract for services. His team showed up when scheduled and worked efficiently and effectively. They cleaned up after themselves each day and also offered helpful suggestions for other future services that could help to extend the life of our masonry facade. We were so pleased with the work at the chimneys that we inquired about tuckpointing services for our stone patio privacy wall. Hynek gave us a very reasonable price and was able to complete the work in tandem with the chimney rebuilds. The high quality of work was also noticed by several of the neighbors who stopped by to ask for Hynek's contact information!

This is a great review and Hynek did not even have to come to my house! My wife and I sold our condo in a brick three-flat. The inspector for the buying parties saw a pipe in the chimney and told the couple buying it "You should see if that is proper construction." The pipe had been there since the building was built in1923, the unit had sold several times since converted to a condo in 1984, and the inspector wonders whether it was proper construction!? We had had all three chimneys inspected every two years for the 14 years we were here, and nothing was ever said about "proper construction." Well, it was a sticking point and we could have lost the sale. We were getting close to Closing, my wife was getting nervous, as was I. I was kind of desperate. I knew the chimney was probably going to be OK, BUT WE HAD TO HAVE IT INSPECTED AGAIN, EVEN THOUGH IT HAD BEEN INSPECTED 5 MONTHS AGO. It was part of the deal to close the sale. I just found Hynek Construction on the internet. He was close to Evanston. The site looked thorough and professional. I reached Hynek on the phone on a job site. He could tell I was flustered and he was very calm on the phone and asked me some specific questions. I was calming down. He asked where I was and I told him Evanston, and he said, "I am in Evanston today on two jobs, I will come over later. Not to worry." He was very courteous and understanding. I told him I would pay him. He said, "That will not be necessary." Then I said, "I will give you a bottle of Scotch." He laughed, "That is okay. I will not need the bottle of Scotch." Several hours later, a friend of mine who had been out of town, called. Just the man for the job. A contractor, which is what the buyer's request specified. He came over. Explained what it was. Everything was totally OK. Which is what I thought in the first place. My question would be, "Why did not the inspector know that?" It was the only thing he found in his inspection. We take excellent care of our building. He even admitted so. I called Hynek back and told him he need not come, and I thanked him profusely for his courtesy. He was quite humble about it. Very gentlemanly. I can not thank him enough. Summary: Hynek, a busy man with two jobs, was willing to come over to a complete stranger's house in an emergency to help someone out, and would not even take a courtesy gift. It says a lot about a man. So, next time I need work, who do you think I will call? John Evanston

The men were on time every day. They worked hard and at a scheduled pace. The man who built the chimney was a craftsman. His assistant was responsive and helped clean up as they were going. He was right on top of things and made sure he has all of his materials. They were a very good team. Hynek, the owner of the company came to check on the job daily to make sure the work was being done properly and to see if anything else needed to be done. He jumped in when the job called for it. I received 8 estimates and by far Hyneck's was the only one that would rebuild my chimney from top to bottom for the same price that the other competitors were going to charge, although they were only going to rebuild half of my chimney. I am very pleased with the outcome of my chimney I have the best looking one on the block! I am going to call Hyneck back to do my garage next summer. He was a pleasure to work with.

They were very professional, knowledgeable and they answer questions whether there are things necessary to prepare. They were clean, fast and their pricing was very good. I was very pleased with them.

They were wonderful! I have thousands of plants around my house and they worked around all my plants with out harming them. They cleaned up all the dust. The repair is not visible, if you don't know where to look you would not know that any tuck pointing was done because it blends in so well. I feel much safer now that my chimney is not about to fall down. I would recommend them to anyone who needs tuck pointing or chimney repair.

Hynek came out quickly to provide a quote and though his schedule was pretty full he worked our project in at a time that was convenient for us. Chimney looks great and we would definitely use Hynek Construction again.

Overall the job went smoothly and efficiently. We will be hiring Hynek for our next remodeling kitchen project.
