Had had multiple visits by Comcast over a few week period. Heard different things from each technician who came with none of them able to diagnose or fix the issue - what a shock that Comcast failed. After a few months of frustration with poor service I finally decided to call Hotwire and am so glad that I did. I was able to schedule an appointment within a week or so of my call and they were willing to come out very early on a day I specified so as not to disrupt my work schedule (I travel Mon-Thu, so they came before 8am Friday). They did a full diagnosis of my cable set-up through my entire house, patiently answered all of my questions, and then proposed a few potential solutions with advice on the best path forward. After a quick discussion with the boss (my wife) we confirmed which option to move forward with and within an hour, everything was all set up and working. My house had not been wired correctly so there was no single cable access point. Rather than try to dig holes throughout the house and mess with the wiring to troubleshoot potential issues (this was Comcast's best recommendation), Hotwire drilled a hole going outside the house to run a line in directly from the outside point where the cable enters the building. Quick, painless, easy solution to an issue that had been frustrating us for months. Compared to the misery and frustration of dealing with my cable provider to address issues, the $150 was a small price to pay!

They were very good, they were able to perform the job very well and they didn't have to come back and fix anything. The price was a little on the high side but since there weren't many companies that did phone lines for residential use I would say they're OK. The guy was easy to get along with. I spent about $800.

I had purchased two Angie's List Deals hoping to have two Ethernet jacks installed. I honestly had no idea how this would work or even if it would be possible to have the jacks installed in the desired locations in our three story house. The scheduling was a breeze. They contacted me the same day and would have had someone available to fit me in the very next day if my schedule would have allowed. My schedule was a bit tricky, but after a message or two and a call, they were able to schedule me for a day and time that worked for my schedule and only a couple days out! They also sent me a confirmation message, which was nice. The installed arrived promptly and was very professional. I explained to him the best I could what I wanted, he listed to my issues, took a look at my setup, and gave me my options, explaining the pros and cons of the different choices. I wanted a jack installed behind the TV in our basement family room and my second concern was trying to get a better signal throughout our brick house and our deck. Because of the way our house was wired (older CAT3 cable) and the speed we wanted (CAT3 only goes up to 10Mbps...see, I learned something), we decided to run the wire externally. Originally, we were going to install an ethernet jacks on the third floor in addition to the basement and he would run the cable around the rear of the house (our modem was, of course, on the opposite side of the house). Instead, we just moved our modem to the third floor (apparently, that helps with the signal anyhow) and we installed the jacks on the two floors below. He suggested we might want to look into buying and installing an access point to help extend the signal. He suggested places we could buy them and was not pushing us to buy from him, but we asked him to install one while he was there for a very reasonable extra cost, especially since he also set it up. The whole process, including the access point installation and programming took only a few hours. The exterior installation is very neat. I tested the internet speed and I get a strong signal out to my garage! We used to stream TV/movies on our TV via WiFi using Roku (good) or the smart TV (not as good). With Ethernet hooked up, there is no more buffering. If we fast forward through a show, it starts almost immediately and we haven't had any dropped connections like we did with the wifi (loading....loading...loading...). That was annoying and happened frequently with our WiFi. I highly recommend them and will definitely use them again if (when) future need arises. Thanks!!

9he really was graciously came early (fine), understood my needs and my difficulties. Much more complicated than I foresaw, could never have figured out the steps myself, several calls needed to Sony, Mike was graciously persistent with them. took much longer than anticipated to install necessary downloads. Very satisfied with service. Cost seemed a little high but worth it. If needed would call Mike again. Phil

Peter arrived on time, ready to work. He spent about an hour and a half with me, tracing and analyzing the rat's nest of existing phone & cable wiring in a 2BR 2BA apartment. Next, he worked with me to develop a simple and relatively future-proof wiring plan for cable TV and ethernet / WLAN in the apartment. Then, he executed the plan. He ended up running stretches of coax and Cat 5 from the apartment entry points to a new central wiring location in the office, new coax and Cat 5 from the office central location to the principal TV viewing location, and upgrading existing coax and Cat 5 to a secondary TV viewing location at the far end of the apartment. The work involved fishing cables through walls and ceilings, routing cables along tops of ductwork and partition walls, and tucking cabling behind baseboards. The wiring is neat and clean and practically invisible, and all wall penetrations are nicely finished with faceplates and appropriate jacks. The entire system is exactly how I wanted it and was ready for the phone and cable installers later in the week. There is great TV viewing and strong WiFi in the entire apartment. Highly recommended and well worth the money.

The service provider was wanting to charge and extra amount to install the tv in corner. I am seeking a refund from Angie's List.

This is the second time that I used Hotwire. Peter again did a fantastic job. He has managed to hide all the wiring behind the drywall. He did not have to make any extra holes because he was able to use some holes in the drywall left by another construction project (solar panels) that was completed earlier this week. I now have super fast wireless on my roof deck using the fixed internet connection Peter installed. I can highly recommend using Hotwire. Treat yourself to some fast internet connections around the house.

Excellent service! They were very punctual. Owner and his assistant. Took shoes off without being asked. Introduced themselves to us and remembered our names as needed. We just bought our first smart TV and are pretty dumb as to how to use it. Hot Wire walked through it with us and showed us how to use the various features. Cleaned up after themselves, including vacuuming the carpet! I had bought this as a special install on Angie's list and knew it would cost me more because we had two TVs involved and the deal was only for one. So we were charged extra, but I do not think the "extra" was overpriced at all!

Hotwire showed up at the appointed time and did an amazing job installing the network. He only made a few very small holes in the drywall and was able to hide all of the cabling. I do not know how he managed to do it and I was very pleased with the end result. I now have fast internet all over the house. I would highly recommend this installer.

It went pretty well. The instillation ended up going OK, and they generally met my expectations. The price was reasonable and I was satisfied with the quality of the work.

They did an excellent job. After I explained the basics, they asked pertinent questions and offered suggestions for improving the installation. Once we agreed on what needed to be done, they got right down to business and finished the job quickly, professionally, and thoroughly. The finished work was tested and they were on their way. They were very professional, but also pleasant to work with and were thorough and cleaned up any mess from drilling, etc. They were respectful of both me and our property. I will definitely go back to them for my future requirements for home networking and home theater.

They were on time, professional and knew immediately what to do. They located the cable connection and connected it, neatly attaching the wire to the other side of our basement so it would not show. We were pleased with the results.

We are having our kitchen remodeled and our contractor found an "ancient " telephone junction box beneath our old kitchen floor when he removed it to install new flooring. The contractor was upfront and said he could not install a new line and connect it properly to the incoming service. So I looked on Angie's List for a go to experienced installer after learning the telephone company would charge a minimum of $140 to come out and do the work. I searched on the Angie's List site and found Hot Wire Co. that was offering a $99 deal. Peter came out a few days later on Nov. 30. and installed a new junction box in the spot recommended by the contractor in the dining room. Peter then connected it to the incoming service in the basement. Our contractor had already fished a line above the basement ceiling tiles. Peter did a professional job; the installation even looks pretty. My spouse doubled checked all of the house phones and they were working properly. Then later on Nov. 30 and then again on Dec. 1, when someone tried to leave a message, there was so much static we couldn't hear who was making the call. And there was static when we tried to call out on the phone. I called Peter on Monday and he came out promptly on Tuesday and announced when he came in that there would be no charge for his visit. Somehow, someway our telephone line had been plugged into the DSL connection, not the phone connection. Hence the static. Peter discovered this in a minute or two. Problem fixed. Static be gone. And it was.

They were very good and even helped put up some other things that were not part of the order. I would definitely use them again.

Team showed up on time and was very professional. Installation was not standard as our building is over 100 years old. They clearly stayed longer than the time they had budgeted, but did not hurry or cut corners. They knew what they were doing; not "winging it" at all. They were very respectful and even cleaned up adequately. I definitely recommend this company for TV wall mount installation.

Communication was prompt and courteous. Providers arrived on time, and they were courteous and professional, and they did an excellent job of installing our tv and mount, and recommending future changes. They also gave us advice on installations for other areas of our home, and how to make them look attractive and function optimally. We will be using them again to install a second tv.
