Greenlawn Landscaping

We used Greenlawn last year for a project and the work they performed was excellent. We had an issue with the bill, which I wrote about in a previous review. After I wrote my review, Dee contacted me and apologized for the issue. This year we were in need of having our bushes trimmed. Admittedly this is a small job, but we don't have the budget to use landscapers regularly. I decided to give Greenlawn another chance and contacted them. Dee said they would be out the following week. They never showed up and I never heard from them after leaving two messages. I won't be contacting them again. Maybe they don't have time for smaller jobs, but I'd rather they be honest and tell me that.

Green Lawn Landscaping was prompt with responding. They explained that they are not serving Oak Park and gave another contractor for that area, which was very helpful of them.

Their estimate was competitive. They are reliable in the sense that they'll let you know when they're coming and do it in advance, knows what he's talking about, but I find the office slightly disorganized and that's the only complaint I have and I felt that I always have to explain. They are great so I can't complain.

The quality of the work performed was very good. Our project was probably a little out of the ordinary because we had to coordinate with another contractor. Therefore we had to carefully time the removal of the bushes and their replanting. Everything went very smoothly. Dee even came at the start of the project to ensure her team knew what to do which I must appreciated. There are two reasons I cannot give them an overall rating of "A". The biggest reason is because they made an adding error on our quote. The price we were quoted was $50 less than what we were invoiced. When I inquired about the difference, Marla replied that she did not know why our quote had the wrong price on it and that "perhaps it was a typo". I looked back at the original quote and realized that Greenlawn had made an adding error. So the correct amounts were on the quote for each service, but when added all together, they made a mistake. I was a little put off by Marla's response about the quote. It was as if she didn't want to take any responsibility for the fact that an error was made. Since it was $50 and the work was done well I wasn't going to argue about it. But I would have liked a different response - perhaps an apology for the error. The second reason I did not give them an "A" rating is because after our shrubs were replanted, I emailed Dee to find out if there were any special care instructions and I never received a response. Had I thought of it when she was on the job I certainly would have asked. But I had hoped she could send a quick response to my email to let me know what we might do to improve the chances of success for replanting the bushes. I know she is busy because she is out and about. But for me to give an "A" rating, everything has to be excellent.

Dee was very professional and willing to work with my schedule. There was a mixup with a couple of the plants but she took care of everything in a timely manner.

Dee and her team did a terrific job! The work was done efficiently and carefully in such a way as to minimize the dirt getting into our house. They did wonderful work! Dee is very knowledgeable about plants so we will definitely use Greenlawn for future landscape projects.

Greenlawn has done a great job mowing and edging my lawn all summer. I so appreciate not having to do it myself, I can just sit in the yard and enjoy! I?m impressed with how the Greenlawn team always leaves things so tidy after servicing. They came out last week and removed a crabtree from the backyard, and I'm thrilled with the extra space and more sun! Greenlawn also removed an overgrown hedge of yews from the front of the house, and my neighbors even commented that they couldn?t believe how neat it looked after the shrubs were removed. Overall, a professional team, responsive, and most of all - very neat landscape work!

I could not be more pleased with the end result. Dee and the team exceeded my expectations and I finally have my yard back! It had become so overgrown with weeds that I could not use the space. It was too much for me to do by myself so I called Dee at Greenlawn. Dee came out right away and sent me a bid very quickly. I thought the price was extremely reasonable considering the amount of work that had to be done and the fact that since I have a dog, they had to do all the pulling by hand. (I was nervous about chemicals that could be harmful to my dog). It took a couple of weeks from the time of the bid til the day they came out, but it was well worth the wait! I had no idea my yard could look so great. I literally had tears in my eyes! I can't recommend their work highly enough. I will definitely sign up with them for ongoing maintenence to make sure my yard stays looking as great as it does now. (Also, I only gave them a B for punctuality because they were supposed to come on Thursday, but they had to push back to Monday beacuse a couple of jobs ran over).

After several promises to come out and perform the landscaping work I discussed with this company, they never came out to do the work. Ultimately, I went with another company after a month of waiting for work to be done. Although I realize it is often difficult to find a landscaper in mid-summer, the professional and courteous thing to do was to notify me with a call or e-mail that they were unable to come out as promised, instead of wasting my time. Although their prices seemed reasonable, I felt as if my yard was not worthy of their business.

They were prompt, and when I had a problem they replaced it. It was kind of a very weird summer, very hot, and some of the sods kind of burnt out and they replaced it, which was nice because we did what we were supposed to do like water it down and all that but it still got burnt at the edges. And they called back and they came when they were supposed to for the re-estimate. They gave some good suggestions; I didn't want anything over the top and it was normal and it was real nice. It is simple and it looks nice. I would use them again for landscaping, but not for day to day stuff - it was too expensive.

There are not enough superlatives to describe the people and services I have experienced with this company. The workers are always prompt, courteous, and thorough every time they come out to take care of my lawn and cleanup afterward. Since I am retired and have limited income, I have found the prices for their services to be very reasonable and would have no problem recommending them to others for their lawn care and landscaping needs. Furthermore, I plan on using one or more of their other services for my property.

The process of getting a quote from them was very easy. Dee went out and took a look at the area, emailed me a quote, and I signed the contract. A couple of weeks later (after the weather improved) Greenlawn came out and did the spring clean-up.

As always these guys are fast and do a great job. They always go above and beyond on any job they do.

I initially emailed Dee for a quote about a month earlier, and she was able to come out the very next day. We walked around the back and front yards and talked about what needed to be done, and what had to be done. Dee emailed me a quote the same weekend. When I was ready to go ahead with the work, I wasn't able to do everything at one, but both Dee and Marla were wonderful at breaking down the costs so I could decide what I could afford to do right away. Once we figured that out, I called their office, and Marla scheduled me for the next Tuesday (after the Labor Day holiday). I came home that night to a beautifully mowed and cleaned up yard and lawn. Everything looks so nice! And they are coming weekly so the yard doesn't get out of control again! I especially like that they were very respectful of my lawn furniture and knick-knacks. I've had other landscapers throw my lawn chairs into the bushes so they could mow and then just leave them there! And one landscaper kept cutting an extension cord I had running to the waterfall in my pond, even though it was bright orange and ran along the perimeter of the yard. No such problems with Dee and her crew! I highly recommend them!!

Overall, I can't say enough about how responsive and attentive Dee was toward out project.. Her plant recommendations were perfect for our scheme and her crew performed magnificently in blazing heat. They left the job site in immaculate shape.

It went great. These guys are pro's. The foreman listened to each request I made and they did it. He also rang the bell before they left to make sure everything was fine. It looked great. I was very happy with their work.

I hired them because I seen good Angie's List reviews. They were very busy so it took a couple of weeks for them to come out. They were prompt and quick and they did what we asked them to. I would suggest them. They had a tough job as our yard was very uneven and they kind of evened everything out. They had to dig down fairly deep in order to put down the soil.

They did a fantastic job...I would use them again, except we moved away from their area. One minor complaint is that they were so busy, it took a long time to get the work scheduled and done. Be sure you get a hold of them early, but it's worth it. The job was well done and they cleaned up after themselves beautifully.

I phoned them to clear a vacant lot of debris, weeds and garbage. It was a big job. Their work exceeded my expectations. They did the job the day after I'd requested service during a busy landscaping time (June) and they did it extremely well. I cannot say enough good things about this company.

She came out to see the lawn and give us her recommendations. Dee didn't seem as knowledgeable as some of the other landscapers we spoke to, but I was interested in getting a qoute from her . She then told me she would email me the quote the next day. She was aware that I wanted to start the job ASAP but never emailed me the quote as promised. A week passed and several emails requesting the quote were ignored. I guess Dee and her company are not serious about their work and don't care about customer service. I would advise you to look elsewhere if you want good customer service.

They did a good job. Removed the stump of the tree also and all the brush. They were very fast!

On time, met dates and times for completing all the work.

They are dependable, and they show up.
