Gem Landscaping

Totally unreliable. Extremely disappointed. They made promises as to what they would do for our landscaping and when they would do it. After repeated phone calls with promises of specific days they would complete the work, they never followed through. We signed a contract which apparently meant nothing to this local company. Now they do not even have the decency to return our phone calls leaving us with problems with our lawn and it is now late in the season to remedy our issues. I spoke with another local landscaping company the other day. The owner confirmed that Gem is unreliable and the owners do not have the proper knowledge and educatin to properly do this work. I wish I knew that before!

Haven't received an invoice yet. Has not completed everything stated in contract, including proof of insurance.

After giving them my address several times over the phone, he still had to call and ask my number again. When he finally showed up in an expensive luxury car, we walked around my property while I described what I wanted done. He did not bring a tape measure or anything to write on. He seemed very reluctant to do the work I wanted done, which was removing some plants and shrubs, and installing stone around the perimeter of the house, instead trying to talk me into mulch. I explained why I wanted stone, and would like an estimate. He shrugged and said "um, $1500?" When I asked for a written estimate, he refused, instead giving me directions to a landscaping store and told me to price the materials I think I would need. I said no thank you, and he left. Days later, after I ignored his voice mail messages asking If I had visited the landscaping store, he left one saying what a great deal he could have gotten me, but, unfortunately, he would not be able to do business with me.
