I gave them the check for $474 which was half down as deposit. They been extremely unresponsive. Not responding to my phone calls. Not showing up when they are supposed to for scheduled appointments. I have had people at the house to meet them for these appointments on multiple occasions. They said that they would refund the money in May, and we have yet to receive that refund. They are now completely impossible to get a hold. They are not return, or accepting, any of our repeated calls.
Description of Work: New cushions on couch, two chairs, ottoman. Replace frame on couch.

I was given Terry's name from the Carson Pirie Scott warehouse where they sell damaged furniture for less. My husband had come across an office credenza there that matched the set he has. It was missing a top, the inlayed shelves and feet. When Terry (Sebastian Cole--is a one-man company, plus a very curt admin) came to give me an estimate, I thought I'd have him fix a few other pieces of furniture that have been knicked over the years and several moves. His estimate seemed high to me, but I trusted I'd be getting excellent results since he'd been recommended by a reputable furnture company. The bedroom set in particular is an antique and I was looking forward to the drawers sliding properly and the whole set gleaming once again. That's what I thought was understood. Rather than come back in a week as he said he would, 2 weeks passed and his admin explained he was so booked up. When he arrived, he spent about an hour here. He brought the cut glass and rather disappointingly thin wood for the credenza. Two weeks later he came back with some sample of "feet" for the credenza. He took the dining server door off much to his disappointment that he couldn't just file it down here. Actually, he told me that he was done with the credenza, but when I tried to open one of the doors it was still stuck. So he left with the door. I haven't seen my dining server door since. We had one heated conversation where he told me his wife is very ill and "in America we can do what we want." This was referring to how appauled I was that he wanted to spend only 1 - 1.5 hours making the bedroom set "deluxe." I thought for what I was being charged, the job would certainly require more time than that. I guess he also said this because my Argentine background is evident in my house. He suugested he come over on Father's Day, but I refused, especially because it would be my first one without my father. I told him I was very sorry about his wife. But now it's been weeks and he was scheduled to come back yesterday. He didn't show. HIs secretary didn't call. I'm at a loss for what to do. He cashed the check for $850 immediately and I have gotten 4 shelves and a few knicks covered. I've lost a server cabinet door that I have no idea how to replace.

Description of Work: Sebastian Cole is the contracted repair agent for the furniture warranty I bought from Carson Pirie Scott where I purchased my furniture. In January, I contacted the warranty company because the veneer strip on the tv console came unglued. They sent a Sebastian Cole repair technician out who used contact cement and a heat gun to fix it. A few weeks later, the section next to the repaired section came unglued. The same repair guy came out in March but this time he used a heat gun first which caused the veneer to ripple/burn and it became more unglued. He used contact cement to glue it back and a finishing marker to cover the burned area. At first, I didn't think it was a big deal but a couple hours later it bothered me that the experienced repair person made my tv console look worse! I would've been better off fixing it myself, which would void the warranty. So I contacted Carson's warranty department who said I needed to deal with the warranty company itself. The warranty company wanted me to allow Sebastian Cole back to "fix it" but after some research I learned that burned veneer cannot be fixed unless you replace that section. Anyway, I forwarded pictures to the warranty company and asked they replace the tv console because their contracted repair person caused the damage. A few days later, Carson's warranty department called and said they would replace the tv console and we set up a exchange delivery. I'm happy that Carson's replaced my tv console but I have 6 years left on the warranty and do not plan to use it again because Sebastion Cole would eventually handle it. Who knows, maybe the guy was having a bad day on the second visit and it was an accident. But I'm not willing to risk it again and then deal with three different companies to resolve it.
