They’re just easy to talk to and stuff. I don’t have to worry about if it’s raining outside if it’s going to go out, like you do on satellite. I can’t think of anything they need to do better.
Description of Work: They had to replace my modem for my TV/internet/Cable. It’s phone, internet, TV.

Mediacom seems to be endorsing a practice that hurts it's loyal customers. People are signing up for mediacom's packages at the first time customer price and near the end of the package to expire and go full price like loyal and long term customers pay. they switch to a different service for a few months then go back to mediacom at the low cost again. and are doing this over and over. While loyal customers keep paying the same price i or having it t constantly raised prices. These people that are scamming mediacom are raping in benefits of great packages at fraction of costs of loyal and long term customers. while loyal and long term customers keep paying higher prices for lesser or same packages. I've written many times to mediacom about this practice but do not get a reply back.
Description of Work: Fixed cable internet connection. and replied to thanks to fixing of lines. But does not respond to a scam being done to mediacom it self and existing customers.

He was thorough in checking the modem and the connections in the basement. He also went outside and checked the cables in the outside box.
Description of Work: Work on service interruption and no problem was found. There was a problem in the area at the time the appointment was set up. The problem was fixed prior and we have not experienced any problems since.

See above We are not able to change due to only available cable service in area. The other internet providers do not provide high speed internet in our rural area.
Description of Work: We contacted provider in reference on our package for cable, internet and phone, when we first signed up with them they gave us a bundle price for all three services, after one year of service the cost of our bundle increased by more than $80.00 per month. When we questioned why that had occurred we were told that if we did not like the pricing we could go elsewhere for service. This is the only cable company in our rural location.

I have had continuous poor cable and Internet service. Picture quality goes in and out as does the sound. This has gone on for 12 months with several service visits. Converter equipment is outdated and is not the exact model referenced in their literature. Cable converter, wiring, connectors have been replaced several times. Serviceman states that the signal quality is very weak on my block.
Description of Work: Continue to try and get cable and Internet working to no avail.

Mediacom service is ok when it works but when you have a problem their notoriously bad customer service reputation often rears it ugly head. My cable and Internet service went out after a storm 5 days ago. Initially they told me that I was part of a general outage due to the storm but when I called a couple of days later they said the outage had been cleared. They set up a trouble ticket for me and I received a notice later that it was scheduled 6 days out. I called back to ask if it could be done sooner and said that waiting over a week was lousy customer service, in my opinion. (I did not raise my voice). The customer rep replied " we can't hire 4 million technicians so every customer can have their own", then repeated it when I somewhat incredulously asked what he had said. Unfortunately this is not the first time I've experienced rude behavior from a mediacom rep. And, more unfortunately, I have no alternatives in my area for Internet. My recommendation - use mediacom only as an absolute last resort.

Back in April of this year, we had a very bad storm and it broke a power pole. There were gas and electric company equipment, Mediacom Cable Company equipment, and one other telecommunication company equipment on this pole. When I called the other telecommunication company, they came out within hours and removed their old equipment and were very nice about it. It took the electric company from April until July to get the job completed and they told me that there is Mediacom equipment still on that pole. Unfortunately, the pole was on my property, so I called Mediacom many times now. Every time they come out, I requested that they call me and let me know that if they are on the property. They have not called me to let me know any time that they’ve been on the property. I called back one time and they said they were out and they don’t have any equipment on that pole. Last time I called them and I said the other telecommunication company has been here and removed their wires from the pole, but there is still a wire coming from across the street through this pole on my property, it goes down the pole, and then the wires go underground to the house and that belongs to Mediacom Cable. I am waiting until August the 6th for someone to come here and tell me what they are going to do with their wires.

I am mostly happy with Mediacom Communications. The service does goes down quite a bit, but they are responsive. The service may go down for a few hours or a few days. Their customer service agents are very helpful.
