Kevin and his crew were timely with in my expected time frames. He was professional, as was his crew, and finished the job on my time schedule and to my satisfaction. He was courteous about my questions and concerns and solved all my issues to my specifications. He had some great ideas I had not thought of and was pleasantly surprised with his knowledge and expertise and creativity. My new Porch is Beautiful and adds great curb appeal. I will hire him again when it is time to stain it next year. I love my new hallway and it turned out past my expectations of the space. He cleaned up all of his materials and left me with a great experience of having Men in my home I did not know. I am a Widow and was a bit nervous and unsure of having strangers in my home and they made the experience pleasant and comfortable. His prices fit my budget and he did not try to sell me anymore than I needed to complete the job. I would highly recommend his company and already have given his information to my Pastor for her Porch. I look forward with ease knowing I have found a contractor for all my project I need to complete.

The doors were installed backwards and opened into a stairwell instead of into the room. The heat duct was left with a large hole in it with all heat escaping into the unfinished part of the basement. The lightswitch was installed but would not operate at the top of the stairs. Electric was not up to code and had to be done over by a licensed electrician. The waterproofing was insufficient and water is still coming down the walls and at the bottom of the walls. The walls are beginning to have cracks in the drywall. The paint on the doors is poorly done. None of the doors match each other. The wood was not sanded and is rough and sticky. There are gaps between the walls and baseboards and between the stairs and wallboard installed. The deck was painted in very hot weather and chairs put on the deck left marks wherever they were placed. Workmanship was shoddy and a major disappointment.
Description of Work: I hired Richmiller to waterproof the basement, put up sheetrock walls, trim out the windows, install doors, relocate heat ducts, replace old wiring, install light at bottom of stairs, stain deck, remove and replace bathroom ceiling, texture and paint walls, woodwork, and ceiling.

Response from Kevin Richmiller
I am including a copy the certified letter from the Fords attorney which was the very first time we had heard about all of these issue except the one door that they would like to have the swing changed, and is lot different than her complaint on angies list. So... In response to the complaint letter regarding the member. I have to say that she is not being honest. She is trying to make this sound a lot worse than it really is. I should have known we were in trouble when she was talking about suing the last contractor that had done work for them, suing the Dentist that had done work for her, and suing the insurance company that was raising her rates because they had multiple accidents in the last two years.. When we requested an inspection through our attorney we were denied and instead they sent pictures that looked very suspicious. These are facts which are not mentioned by her. Both husband and wife inspected our work daily and were very happy with the quality, price, professionalism, punctuality, and responsiveness. We did the entire project in two weeks. He was so pleased he offered to give us a bunch of stuff in his garage when we were finished. We were hired to apply waterproof paint to the interior of 2 walls in the basement. Not to "waterproof the entire basement". After applying waterproof paint to the basement walls, which carries a lifetime guarantee. One week later we had a 4 inch rainfall in one day. The walls held, but water was coming up through existing cracks in the floor. She informed us she was going to hire a contractor for $5000.00 to put in a sump pump and finish waterproofing the basement. Because the 2 cracks that the water was coming up through were only 4 feet apart, we believed that a two foot wide and four foot deep hole in between the cracks with a sump pump in the bottom would solve this problem. We offered to do all this work at no charge and they said no, but then changed their minds the next day agreed to pay for the materials if I would do the labor for free.. We were shocked to read they wanted $3000.00 from us to trench the basement floor since we did this labor for free. No doors were installed backwards. This door was installed properly. To change the swing would cover up the light switch on the wall. There is a landing at the bottom of the stairs that the door swings into perfectly. All doors were stained oak. Not painted. The doors and woodwork were sanded, stained, polyurethaned, and nailholes filled. The door in question is a hollow oak veneer door that costs $50.00 at Lowes. They are asking for almost $1100.00 to change this one door. The square hole in the heat duct in the furnace room is simply missing the vent cover. The fords want $300.00 for this cover to be put on. Electrical. We did not install, nor were we asked to install a lightswitch upstairs. The attorneys letter says we didnt install one, the Angies list letter says we did and it doesnt work. The gap between the wallboard and stairs was pre existing. We replaced the dark paneling with painted drywall and the gap was more noticeable. We would like to point out that upon finishing this project she had inspected everything, made a punch list, and made sure we completed everything to her satisfaction before paying us, and only paid for the materials for the following extra work we did. 1. Deck. After finishing the deck, she informed us she hated the color she picked out, so we re-did the entire deck. 2. Basement. After painting the basement walls , she told us she hated the color that she had picked out , so we re-did the basement walls, twice. 3. Tile. After several days of working, she asked if we could put ceramic tile in the downstairs bathroom. So we installed ceramic tile in the bathroom. 4. Bifold doors. After installing and staining the 2 sets of oak bifold doors she did not like the color difference so we replaced one set. This set also did not match exactly so on the final day we replaced them again and the front stained side did match. 5. Vents. On the final day she asked that we replace all the heat vents and return air vents with new ones. We did. 6. Hole in basement floor, sump pump etc... The total amount of extra work we did, that we were not paid for at their house is approx. $5000.00. We respectfully requested a meeting with your member through our attorneys to inspect and to try to resolve these issues and were denied. She doesnt want resolution, she just wants money.
