 + 0 moreI called to order mulch and a grumpy guy answered the phone and said a lot of 'yeah' and 'uh-huh'. He asked me how much mulch I wanted and let me know how much it would be and what the delivery fee would be. Since I would not be home when the delivery came, he took my credit card number. The call wasn't too bad, but it was not professional at all. A week later my mulch was dumped in my driveway as scheduled. The mulch part was fine, but it was filled with large white rock. I would estimate that 15% of my order was rock rather than mulch and it would be impossible to pull them all out. This was bothersome, but I could live with it. Then when I got my mail I found a receipt for the mulch. This wouldn't be a problem except that my order was stapled to it with my full credit card number, the expiration date and the 3 digit security code from the back of the card. This is when I got angry. Since I didn't want to be rude the grumpy guy that answers the phone, I waited a few days and called in to let him know about the rock and the credit card number. He offered no apology and no way to make it right. He simply explained to me that he isn't sure how the rock got in the mulch and that usually the bring the receipts back with them and they get mailed to the customer. I said that I just wanted to let him know that there were issues that could be repeated. He said could look into it and thanks for calling. We won't be ordering from them again.

 + -1 moreThe overall experience with Jacobs Forestry was excellent. Mr. Jacobs is a friendly and interesting guy to do business with. Make sure you call ahead to make sure that the loader is available. I highly recommend Jacobs Forestry.
Description of Work: Purchased a total of (12) yards of mulch. Jacobs loaded mulch into my pickup (3) yards at a time.

 + -1 moreThis was my first experience with Jacobs and I was quite pleased overall. I called them in late April and they were available for delivery a few days later. I had to delay the delivery due to my schedule. They called to confirm a few days prior and then called again when they were on their way. They also confirmed that I had a place ready for them to dump the load. The driver arrived as scheduled. He dropped the load and was done in less than 15 minutes.
Description of Work: We purchased a 10 yd load, which was the aproximate equivalent of 135 bags (1000 sq ft). The price included delivery to Taylor Ridge, IL. The product was an excellent hard-wood mulch and didn't contain a lot of garbage like I find when I purchase bagged mulch. I was amazed at how much a 10 yd load was. We were able to spread the mulch in a lot more area than we originally expected. I will definitely purchase from them again. When purchasing, keep in mind that it takes time to spread this much mulch. It took us about 8 hours with 2-3 people. Also be sure you have a place for the mulch to be dumped and if possible make it as close as possible to where you plan to spread it.

 + -1 moreFantastic. Quick Delivery (the next day), and they could deliver more at a time than anyone else which meant only 1 delivery charge.
Description of Work: I purchased 20 yards of hardwood mulch and they delivered it to my home. They were half the price of everyone else in the area.
