Response from Carmar Remodeling & Handyman Services
We are in shock at this customer review. The customers live in CO and we met with them at the rental property after the completion of the tile floor in the kitchen (had to rip up two floors underneath and place new subfloor) and other work performed and they were so impressed that they asked us to do additional work at this rental property including tiling of the upstairs bath.. The renter was extremely sick that day and we got sick as well and had to be on antibiotics. We removed ourselves from the work site for several days to give the tenant as well as us time to recover from the illness and went back to remove and install a patio door. There were carpenter ants and had wood damage to the floor that was exposed when we removed the old patio door. We had to rebuild the foundation and the flooring to place the new patio door which had to be special ordered. When returning to complete the installation of the patio door, the tenant met us at the door with his fists clenched and demanded we leave his property and was tired of having his place messed up. We were not allowed to complete installation of the patio door so yes, the door was not installed as it was not completed. The door was temporarily placed so as not to leave a hole in the wall and allow the outside elements to impact the tenant and his asthma problems. Renovation no matter how you try to clean and for anyone planning renovation should take note of this. Renovation and tear out is a very dirty process in your living space. We try our best to clean up the area as best we can. We place all material to be removed in an area designated by the customer and it is their responsibility to have the debris removed. This is explained to the customer at the beginning of the job. This is the property owners responsibility to inform the tenant of this. We are alarmed that ANYONE can make as serious a claim as threatening someone without any validation or substantiation. The tenant asked us not to say anything referencing God while there, we respected this. The tenant didn't like that we were of a different political party and was constantly making fun of us for this and we were respectful and told him he was entitled to his opinion and that is what America is all about. There DEFINITELY was no threat on our part except to demand our right to remove our tools on the property in which the response was to hurry up or else. We feel terrible when we cannot come to an understanding with a customer regarding the work we have contracted to do for them and in this particular case being they live in CO it was challenging to do the work between the tenant and the customer. We do agree that they had to hire someone else to complete the work since the patio door installation was not completed by us. However, we have done ceramic tile work for many years and our prior customers can attest to the beauty of our work. We do not understand the need for this customer to lie and spread serious allegations to slander our company. This is a blatant fabrication and we take exception to this comment. In reading the reviews regarding Angies list, we do not seem to be the only contractors that have fallen a victim of this heinous behavior from a customer due to their non satisfaction. We are in the process of uploading pictures of our work and you can be the judge.
