I have house that is rental unit on the 2nd floor that was built in 1896. It needed some plastering done to the kitchen ceiling and the living room ceiling in a few areas. It was plastered before, but needed retouching since it was missing something. I searched for a company who does exceptional work with the proof and years of experience. We prefer wet plaster over dry, so did checking and found ZMartin Plastering on Angi. The company had high ratings and the work looked great, so we scheduled Brian Zmuda to come out and look at what needs to be done. Brian came out me out promptly for an estimate and went over what the issues were with the ceiling in both areas and explained it thoroughly so I could understand and told me what materials as far as the paint, plaster, and more and how he was going to do it, and even showed me this insurance and then quoted me a fair price. I was happy and then scheduled him to come out in three weeks. Brian came out three weeks later on 05/23/23 after we were finishing stucco painting and he began to work. I could tell he knew about doing plaster work for an older house. He started with the two ceilings and did it in order and was clean using the right materials. He plastered it well leaving no mess and with wet plaster, and then once he finished he explained that the plaster dry's in less then a week and told me house spot primer first in the area before applying paint which where are doing for the whole apartment's unit. I was happy and knew he was skilled and explained what materials you are suppose to use and he also does stucco is great to know snice we have some stucco repair on our main house to do. I can highly recommend ZMarting for any paltering work and he seems very honest and did not take long so her reduce the price since it was simple job. We will be working with him in the future. His work is fantastic. Could not be any happier.

I have a 90+ year old Chicago bungalow. Brian came out me out promptly for estimate. After speaking with Brian I could tell he knew about doing plaster work for an older house. No mud and tape job here. His worker (Sam) are great to work with. Had extensive work to all my ceilings and walls on 1st floor of house. Fixed all cracks in walls, all 22 of them !! Also fixed an arch way which was cracked all the way down to metal framing. Then had them paint the walls and ceilings. Can highly recommend them for any work. The job turned out fantastic. Could not be any happier.

We had an excellent experience with ZMartin when we needed our plaster walls and ceilings to be repaired after a disastrous leak. I've had experiences with several different plasterers at this point because our house always seems to need work and we often need to go with whoever is immediately available, and I think ZMartin was the best experience in terms of quality of work and professionalism. The work was done right the first time around, they cleaned up after themselves, and they came immediately to do touch-ups when a small bubble formed a few weeks after the plaster dried (which happens sometimes). The only downside is that I've found their prices are on the higher side, but at the same time you get what you pay for. Others have done somewhat sloppy work, failed to clean up, and were often nonresponsive when touch-ups or fixes needed to be done. Just this past month, I've gotten in a bind when another plaster guy put our outlet in the wrong spot, which is creating problems for the carpentry work, and now they're not responding to my frantic message about fixing it. I was really pleased with the excellence of ZMartin's work and their responsiveness regarding any problems or expressed preferences. Brian also recommended to me a terrific painter to boot!

Brian is very professional, personable, and knowledgeable. From start to finish, Brian was very responsive to all of my inquiries in a timely fashion. He and Sam both explained the process of plaster repair thoroughly. They have excellent customer service, and the quality of their work is worth the price. We previously used a different plaster contractor, and though the price was lower, the work quality was also much lower. You can't put a price on doing it right the first time. We had to deal with an emergency repair in a short amount of time, and their response time was super fast, and they were willing and able to accommodate us quickly. They are also great guys. Terrific! We took down a wall which had crown molding and other contractors wanted to cut out the remaining molding on the 3 remaining walls and square the ceiling. Step in - Zmartin who repaired the crown where the wall used to be, prepared a mold and extended the crown another 6 feet ending with a custom edge. They also leveled the ceiling which had a 1.5 inch pitch across only 12 inches as the ceiling height of the living room and dining room did not match. They chipped the ceiling away on each side and repaired it. Today you would have no idea where the wall used to be. The work is seamless. I have several tradesmen in my family including carpenters and painters and even they commented on the great work. The crown gives the kitchen such a unique look. Plaster work creates dust which is expected and they always did a great job on the clean up too.
