Since the member didn't elaborate on what his "Horrible Service" was, we will state what we did for the member. The member purchased one of our store front Deals for a 50 gallon water heater install. Whenever we have a deal purchased we ask the member questions regarding the purchase to make sure that what they bought will work for them. When we get water heater purchases we ask questions regarding accessibility. Water heater location, whether it is in a basement , a closet, or in an attic can affect whether or not it qualifies under the reasonable access requirement of the Deal. In this case the water heater was in a room in the basement. The member assured us that it we be would be ok. We scheduled the water heater to be installed the first job of the morning. We arrived with a 50 gallon gas water heater as purchased. The 50 gallon water heater would not fit in the room between a support post and the wall. Only a 40 gallon water heater would fit the member elected to go with the 40. The member says he sent an email changing from the 50gallon to the 40 gallon the day before. We didn't get the email until our guy was on at the job. The email came at 10 pm the night before the job. That 50 gallon heater was already purchased and on our plumbers truck by mid afternoon the day before the job. We had to take the water heater (50 gallon which was what the deal was for) back to the supply house and purchase a 40 gallon that would fit in the space he had. This cost us about an hour of lost time going back and forth to the plumbing supply house plus a restocking fee. Here is where our disagreement happened. The member felt they should get a $100 discount because they had to go with a 40 gallon instead of a 50 gallon that the deal was for. We explained to them that the reason for the smaller size was due to the size constraints of THEIR home. We came with a 50 gallon and it wouldn't fit so we had to go and get one that would. This is cost us time and money. So therefore we wouldn't be able give a discount. This is why the member is upset. I explained the same thing that is being written here with an Angie's list representative after the member called Angie's List. The bottom line is the member purchased a 50 gallon water heater deal. We arrived with a 50 gallon water heater ready to install. A 50 gallon would not fit due to space limitations in the members home. We had to spend time and money to get a water heater that would fit. Because the member didn't measure the space and existing heater and compare sizes online prior to purchasing , we should absorb the cost. How is this fair? Had we made a mistake we would have had no problem with a discount or any other resolution to make the member happy. This member got everything the deal stated except for the size difference. The $100 price difference that the member wanted refunded went toward the 25% restocking fee on the $425 water heater we took back (25%of $425 is $106.25). The supply houses don't give us a discount when we buy the wrong product. We are sorry that the member is unhappy. The member got a quality product with an excellent warranty. Even with the obstacles we got the job done.

How did you contact us? We have no record of anyone with your name contacting us. Did you contact us by Email? Text? Phone? Did you leave a message? Angies list message? We checked all of those and found no record. I think you may have confused us with someone else who didn't respond. We are in the service business we make our living by doing service calls. It isn't in our best interest to not answer calls or respond.

Description of Work: Came out on a Sunday to rod out an overflowing toilet. Asked several times if I knew where the clean-out was, I did not know. Plumber did not want to check out the crawl space. He did use his rodder, but to no avail. Had to use a different plumber who went into the crawl space and was able to fix the problem from there. This firm may have other plumbers who might have been able to fix the problem, but the one I got couldn't.

We came and looked for an access point to clear the blockage. We attempted to restore flow by rodding through a toilet opening. tenant had pulled the toilet. We kept getting stuck in the same spot about 25-30ft away. We tried several different times from two spots and got stopped in the same spot. When rodding a drain the cable will follow the direction of flow as water would. If the rod cannot make it past a point due to a fitting or major build up this is a problem area that needs to be addressed. That's where we left it with the landlord. We would need to electronically locate the line and find the problem area. And for the record we did check the crawlspace. It was full of sewer water from the toilet overflowing and the tenants sweeping the overflowing sewerage down a hole in the floor. We needed to locate the line to find the problem area. Apparently the landlords plumber that wasn't answering on this particular Sunday came out to resolve what the tenant said was an ongoing problem. So he knew where the problem area was. We did the best we could with the information we had and what we had to work with. We could have found and repaired the issue once and for all if he would have gone the next step and allowed the line to be located.

We thank the member for the positive review. But we always want our customers to be completely satisfied. We gave the price for this job more than 2 weeks prior to the job being done. This was more than enough time to compare prices and get other bids. Our prices factor in all aspects of the job. Not just the time spent in the home doing the job. We have parts on the job, we have time in getting those parts, fuel costs in getting those parts and time allotted in getting to the job. All these are factors when pricing out jobs. The price doesn't just count the hours we were at the home and the parts we used. So factoring in the purchase of parts at an hour it drops that rate that seemed at bit high at $150 down to less than $100. No companies out there are beating that price.

Description of Work: Steve from RJ Graham showed up on time to install two owner-provided sump pump back up systems in my basement. Steve quoted the job and I agreed to the price. He spent the time necessary to complete the job properly and I am very happy with the end result. I am surprised that since Steve knew the type of job he was coming over for, that he did not have the necessary check valves required and I had to go out & purchase them. Not a big deal, but no discount was calculated into the job to compensate for this additional $45 purchase? However, I am still happy with the job based on Steve's professionalism and competency regarding sump pumps.

Thank you for the great review! We quoted the job on the phone to install two customer supplied battery back up systems. The quote was for labor only. There was no material included in the quote. We recommend replacing the check valves when replacing pumps, we supplied one at no charge and the homeowner purchased the remaining 3. Sorry for the misunderstanding.

Description of Work: I have already given my review after they were here. I no longer have the paperwork. I have since sold the house and the paperwork is with the new homeowners. The year was 2012 when the work was done. I am not sure about the month and date. Very good work. If I ever move back to the south suburbs of Chgo.(Palos Heights, Ill.), I would use them again. I gave responsiveness a "B" as he had to reschedule my day due to a last minute emergency elsewhere on my original day scheduled. Not a problem for me.
