Our mission statement revolves around the fact that homeowners will only replace their windows, doors and home siding, likely once in a lifetime. Why not combine premium products, like Kolbe Windows and Doors, Andersen Windows and Doors as well James Hardie Fiber Cement Siding with the Preferred Installation methods that Opal Enterprises strives to offer! Our reputation for quality work and competitive pricing has been the primary factor in our success. We are committed to client satisfaction in which we serve you from start to finish. Call today!

"Process started November 3rd of 2021. The General Manager, Eli, came to the house and showed me all of the product offerings for a new entrance door with a sidelight and transom, a replacement window for the basement, and a specialty eyebrow window replacement in our master. I told Eli that I wanted one of the best doors they offer, to replace the builder grade door, and everything we are replacing needs to match the rest of the townhouses in our subdivision. Detailed quote was sent on the 17th. The quote included pictures of each item and the door showed the wrong transom window configuration. I was told that there was no picture option to show the transom configuration of 4 panes instead of 5 but he had taken pictures to insure the configuration will match with the existing door. I signed off on the paperwork and put down 30%. All three orders where custom, so the turnaround time was approximately 3 months and that also included some of there pandemic backups on supplies. In the months to follow I would receive a few automated emails a month on what to expect, manufacturing process, and what to do on the day of installation. The emails slowed down at the end of May and I finally reached out in April. The day I reached out they stated that everything was in and we set the installation date for April 26th. Opal workers arrived on time that morning and began the process. They started with removing all the old windows and door. As they unboxed the custom products I noticed that the door glass and eyebrow window glass were wrong. The basement window they were installing was considerably smaller than what they were replacing. I took pictures of everything and forwarded the information to there main office and received a fast response. I was told that the window inserts to make the configuration correct can be done after the install. The office manager looked at the picture on the quote for the door and stated that I signed off on 5 windows instead of 4 and I had to bring up the fact that there system had no pictured example of the 4 window layout but the General Manager guaranteed that all products would match the layout of the replacement. The basement window was installed and they used tons of foam and plywood to fill the gaps of where the old window was. I could hear the installers complaining after they unboxed the new window and initially put it in place because there was so much room on each side. If this was a custom measured window how come they installed a cookie cutter size that I could have bought at a big box store? The old window, without the frame, measured approximately 60 x 54 and the new window, without the frame, measured 48.5 x 48.5. This is the only window in the basement bringing in natural light. If this is a reasonable expectation then the sales team should have brought up the fact that replacement windows would be considerably smaller. If we were told this we would not have replaced the window at all. On top of the window being small you could see between the sliding glass as if there was no seals on the window at all. Air was coming in from the outside and there solution was to cut two pieces of thin molding in half, which did not close the gap. I was told that in order to fix everything it would take a couple months. I was not comfortable with paying the remainder of the $10,000. I wanted a guarantee that they would some how make this fix a priority, so we agreed to hold back $600. Two months turned into 5 months. The office manager called me once in that time frame and stated it would not be until September. It's now October and there has been no follow up. Maybe the $600 was less than what it would take to make the job right. For the first time in almost 20 years we have a gnat problem in the basement from that brand new Opal window. We would be better off just buying something to replace it. All in all there wasn't a single product that was right and the years of saving money to increase the value of our home was not what we were expecting. We will see if the pictures attached and review will get a response and then I can update it accordingly. I would be wiling to show pictures of the fixes and how there installers do there finishing work."

I have been working and doing my passion now as a business owner for 15 years. Being a fellow home owner I know the ups and downs of hiring someone for a home project or repair. Working in and out of construction field since I was a teenager I have built a strong knowledge of how to get thing done efficiently and properly.

"Yes. The pro was very knowledgeable and professional. He explained what was needed to resolve our issue. He was very polite, thorough, and did not generate any messes. I would recommend them for other projects."

Door Repair questions, answered by experts

You can cut a door knob off using a sawzall, but you risk causing additional damage to the door itself. You’ll also need to completely replace the door knob, costing you extra money and another trip to the hardware store.

Yes, you can replace only the door frame without replacing the door, assuming that the door is in acceptable condition. You’ll need to remove the door first and rehang it after replacing the frame. If the door has sustained any damage or significant wear and tear, it’s a good time to replace the door as well, since you’ll have to remove the door anyway.

It’s usually better to repair damaged interior doors and replace damaged exterior doors, but it depends on the type and extent of the damage. Damage to interior doors won’t threaten your home’s security, so if a repair or partial replacement of only the door (not replacing the door frame) is possible, that route should save you some money. Damage to an exterior door can compromise your home’s security, so it’s often better to replace it entirely, especially if there’s frame damage. You can ask your door installer which course of action is best for your situation.

The debate on whether to repair or replace your door comes down to the extent of the damage and the cost of the repair. For example, if your door has a large hole it’s best to replace it with a new one, regardless of the type of door. If it’s a hardware issue, like locks or hinges, a repair is most likely going to be the best route. Speaking with a door repair specialist will help you decide which option is right for you and your budget.

Regular maintenance of patio doors can keep them working and looking their best for years to come. Cleaning tracks and rollers, replacing damaged or worn weatherstripping, and routinely checking the door’s alignment can extend the life of your patio doors. Exercising care while using the doors can also keep them in good condition; avoid slamming doors shut, exerting heavy pressure against them, or forcing the latch mechanisms.
