A-Squared Woodworking

Truly a pleasure to deal with from the planning stages of my project to the install, right on schedule. Robert was consistently prompt and meticulous in every aspect. I highly recommend A-Squared Woodworking. I would definitely use them again.

This is the 3rd project that I hired A-Squared Woodworking for. The work is done to perfection. I emailed a sketch to Robert about the built-ins that I wanted: file drawers, small drawers, TV, printer and components area, storage for games etc... We went back and forth a few times, Robert measured my games and components to make sure all the dimensions would work perfectly. He made some really good suggestions, and the result is stunning. Despite my house being over 100 years old, with plaster walls and no straight floors/ceilings, everything looks perfect. The cabinets were built in the workshop and it took a full day to install. Robert will take all the time he needs to make sure that everything is installed perfectly. He also helped with running all the electronics cords behind the cabinet during the installation. This is the 3rd project that I ordered from A-Squared Woodworking and I am already thinking about the next one. This is a very reliable and quality-oriented company.

Working with Robert was great! He came out measured and discussed design and then sent me a proposal. Once we agreement, he had the custom built-ins completed and installed in about 10 weeks. He and his son were extremely professional and clean. We are so happy with the end result and would definitely use him again!

Working with Robert Navarro from A-Squared Woodworking was AWESOME! He was very responsive and helpful throughout the whole process and made sure that nothing got missed. Fabrication of the product is flawless and installation was impeccable! I wish I had more work that I wanted to do in my house - as I would know exactly who I would have do the work!

Robert was fantastic, very responsive and realistic about his lead times. He turned drawings around fast, made adjustments and was as professional and responsive as they come. Unfortunately, the project got sidetracked with some personal matters (ours, not Robert's) and other more pressing projects on the house so we couldn't move forward. When we are ready for custom cabinets, Robert would be the first call we make.

Robert and his son did a fantastic job on installing my built in book shelves! They were punctual for both appointments (the measuring appointment and the install appointment) and Robert ended up squeezing my job in sooner than quoted. They were very polite and professional and cleaned everything up very nicely when the work was complete. I will be having Robert build my new mantle since I loved his work so much! I highly recommend!

There not enough positive I can say about the work Robert and his son did. Amazingly professional with detailed quotes, creative recommendations, high quality workmanship, abundant communication, and 5 to 10 mins early for every appointment. The lead time from request to completion was approx . 6 to 8 weeks but it was well worth the wait and clear others understand the quality of his work!

I could not be happier with the work that Robert and his son at A Squared Woodworking did for me. Professional, prompt, knowledgeable, and friendly. These are just a few of the words I'd use to describe my experience. And the product itself: beautiful. We hired Robert to design and build some custom fit book shelves for our West Town condo with some pretty specific and unusual dimensions. But after coming over to survey the space, Robert not only found a way to do the job well, he made a few suggestions for improvements for the project that we hadn't even thought of. We immediately knew he was the man for the job and commissioned him to do the job on the spot. Lo and behold, 8 short weeks later (exactly on schedule), Robert showed up to install his master built shelves, and they are magnificent. I simply cannot recommend A Squared Woodworking highly enough. Top notch work!

In early 2015 we wanted to have a custom wall unit and desk built for my home office, which has some unusual layout issues. Using Angie's List we found a few companies, all A+ rated, and we picked a company based on price and their proximity to our residence. It ended up being a disaster. We ripped out the crooked and very poorly made wall unit and got our money back. We then contacted Robert and after meeting with him we knew he'd be the right person for our project. He worked with us to refine our design and he executed flawlessly. We were extremely pleased and told him that we might use him again when we were ready to redo our kitchen. In early 2016 we bought a lot of decorating magazines and went to a lot of kitchen showrooms to figure out the look we wanted. We then had a few of the higher end showrooms provide a quote. But our galley kitchen has some unique aspects and we didn't feel that any of those companies would be able to meet the quality and level of attention we were looking for, while always using Robert's previous work as our benchmark. So we asked Robert to work with us again. Even though he isn't a designer or general contractor, Robert was involved in every detail, including the detail design and the work of other contractors such as drywall, counter tops, trim work, and flooring, to ensure that we were going to get the kitchen of our dreams. The end product is way above and beyond what we could have ever hoped. Everything is plumb, perfect finishes, fabulous execution. Not just a kitchen, a showplace. Next year we hope to have Robert build us a new bedroom set, maybe integrating some detailing from a metal furniture artist we love. Whatever we decide we know that the end product will be amazing. We look forward to our next project with Robert.

Fantastic. Robert is extremely professional and precise in everything he does. The quality of cabinets (fine furniture, really) he created were beyond our highest expectations. Plus, Robert is one of the nicest contractors and people I have ever met. I hope to be able to have him again create something fantastic for us in the future. He is truly an artist.

I drew specifications and sent via email. Cover was made in a brief amount of time and works beautifully.

Robert is truly professional with a focus on listening to his customer and delivering a quality product. He built a custom 10' wall unit with built-in lighting, mirrors on back of some of the glass shelving and file drawers. He offered some options and ideas to help me think through the design. He works very hard to deliver on his customer desires. He met his delivery commitment and gave updates throughout the process. I have been so happy with his work that he is building a platform bed and wall/desk unit for me at the present. I would recommend him without reservation.

We failed to get this project done with a few other companies and they all failed. They didn't show up, they didn't return calls or e-mails.... it was sad. Then we found Robert. On time, responsive, great follow though and follow up, and most of all, what he built for us is amazing! As I told him when we first contacted him, I'm an artist myself and kind of handy. Handy enough to know too much and be a pain. Robert was always professional when speaking with me about my ideas and guided me in the right direction when my "knowledge" wasn't quite right. We'll be calling him again soon for our next couple of custom pieces we're looking for.

Robert of A-Squared Woodworking is amazing! He created a unique storage system for our Ukrainian Village condo, and made the process very easy. He was extremely punctual, professional, and very talented. We had a challenging project (under the stair storage) but Robert embraced the challenge, and the result was better than our wildest dreams. If you are in the city, and need ANY woodworking projects (cabinets, storage, media centers etc..) call Robert first! Our experience with him was top notch, and we feel SO lucky to have found him. We will definitely continue to use him in the future.

We had an architect draw up a design for cabinetry in our mudroom/laundry room. We sent out the plans to three different cabinet makers for bids. Robert was the first to reply and gave me an estimate on the cost. Then he came out and looked at the room, took more measurements, and we discussed in detail the process, the materials he'd use, the exact look of the doors and drawers, etc. He was quick to get back to me with an exact quote, which turned out to be about $2000 less than the other quotes I received. He was careful to match the crown molding and the beadboard to our existing materials. He accounted for the not-so-straight wall in his adjustments. He painted everything to match our existing trim color in the house. He was finished sooner than promised and installed it perfectly. Everything looks beautiful and the quality is great. Very sturdy and solid feeling-- we love it! Robert was very easy to work with, was super-prompt in getting back to us, and seems to really take pride and a lot of care in his work. I would highly recommend him.

I contacted Robert to see if he could help me with making a custom designed litter box. Never once did he laugh at me :-) I live in a small space so wanted to design something that would look like a piece of furniture and hide the unsightly litter box. First I was impressed with Robert's responsiveness and his punctuality throughtout all of the communcations and appointments. But lastly I was thrilled with the finished product. It is a beautiful piece of woodwork and is exactly what I had hoped for. I'm trying to think of other projects I can hire him for in the future.

Robert Navarro of A-Squared Woodworking is wonderful to work with, and the quality of his work is outstanding! We started out with a pretty good idea of the configuration we wanted, and Robert was great at helping us work out the many details to get us the layout we needed and the design we wanted. He invited us to his shop to review progress on the work and to resolve loose ends at appropriate points. He successfully researched hardware requirements and design details for some special pieces. We wanted a somewhat unusual finish on the wood, and Robert developed numerous custom stain samples until we found the right one. Once design and fabrication were complete, the installation also was a great experience. Robert and his assistant completed the work in two days; the entire process went smoothly, with minimal noise and disruption. The finished product is a wonderful addition to our home, generating many compliments from our friends and relatives. It satisfies both our functional needs and our aesthetic desires. Robert's excellent skills, along with his quiet manner, made this an ideal project. We couldn't be happier, and we highly recommend A-Squared Woodworking.

Robert showed up on time was extremely thorough and informative. He checked every detail twice and gave me a copy of our agreed upon design and dimensions. He was honest about delivery time due to his other projects. When he was ready to begin he brought over samples of color treated wood to insure match with existing pieces. He delivered the final pieces and installed them. Throughout the process Robetr was kind understanding, extremely knowledgeable and professional. I was a pleasure to work with him. He will be doing another custom piece for my living room. My daughter will also have him make pieces for her home. I is gratifying to know that there are still such excellent craftsman available.

I needed bookcases in our home office, but no standard sizes would fit the bill. I called Robert from A-squared woodworking to see what they had to offer. The result was amazing! Robert came out to look at the room, and when he did so, he took very accurate measurements, noting the location of the outlets and switches. He also took a special tool and got the exact profile of my baseboard, so the cases fit exactly in place without having to remove my baseboard. The installation went perfectly, and the pieces are beautiful. I highly recommend Robert and A-Sqared for all of your custom cabinet needs.

A-Squared did a superior job with my kitchen cabinets and I couldn?t be happier! They were very helpful in showing us different wood samples. Our initial meeting was at our home. They took measurements of our kitchen and gave us very helpful suggestions for us to consider. They were very professional and knowledgeable. They then sent us drawings of the layout we decided on and set-up another meeting at our home where we worked out final details and changes to the layout. We kept constant contact with them, they were very easy to reach and they were always happy to answer all of our questions. They also went out of their way to find the very specific stain that we wanted on our cabinets. When they came to install our cabinets, they were very considerate of our home, laying down protector sheets for our floors. They cleaned up everything after themselves. They not only custom designed our cabinets, but we also wanted a bathroom door and basement door (which initiate from the kitchen) to match our cabinet?s wood and they were able to veneer these doors to match our cabinets. The veneer work on our doors and the crown molding around the cabinets is outstanding. It really makes our kitchen stand out! They also installed lighting under the cabinets which really helps our countertops stand out. I am very impressed with their service and can't say enough good things about this company. After getting various estimates from other companies, A-Squared was the most reasonable and they produced high quality work that really exceeded our expectations. I am extremely satisfied and highly recommend this company.

A-Squared was great! The entire process was stress free. Our initial meeting went well, we discussed what we wanted, came up with a rough sketch and considered options that were presented to us. The ideas that were presented to us were great, the years of woodworking experience were clearly visible through our conversation. We selected one of the options that was given to us and away we went. We were kept informed as our project was being built and also visited their workshop before our cabinetry went into their finishing area. The installation was perfect - they were neat, courteous and professional at all times. They arrived on time and immediately protected our hardwood floors (which was reassuring). The installation took about 5 hours and the quality of work is highly noticeable. The installers seemed passionate about their jobs, every last detail was excellent. They were not messy at all, yet they cleaned up the entire area. There was nothing for me to dust of sweep up after they left. Needless to say, I'm very pleased with their work. Robert and his crew were awesome they did a beautiful job with the installation. They cleaned up after themselves and made sure everything was perfect. There was an issue with the old box cabinet drawer that Robert fixed at no extra charge. I am recommending A- Squared Woodworking to friends and clients whenever I can.
