The experience went well. They showed up on time, bright and early. They acted very professionally. They worked hard and fast. I appreciated the detail in which they described the work process to me. Most off all I appreciated the fact that the air is working terrific now in this hot time of summer.

The purpose of the service call was to take advantage of the Angie's List Big Deal they were offering. This included "Home A/C Inspection, Cleaning, Tune-Up and up to 1 lb. of Refrigerant" for $55, regularly $120. Joe, the service man, arrived on time as promised and was polite, courteous and respectful the whole time he was there. His knowledge of the system and willingness to explain in detail what he was doing and why he was doing it was refreshing. My only complaint is that the price charged for what was done seemed to be extremely high. In addition to the inspection price, I was charged $275 for an extra pound of refrigerant, to fix one wire (that was probably going to be a problem in the future), and a chemical wash of the coils. Knowing what I know now, I could have done most of the work myself for a lot less money. In fact, yesterday, I cleaned the coils on another unit with a coil cleaner sold at the hardware store for less than $10. I would still consider them for future work but only for major jobs and I would get estimates from other providers too.

The serviceman Joe Stump was very knowledgeable and respectful. I felt like I was being taken care of and didn't feel like Joe was trying to sell me anything. They were very thorough and provided a prompt response. Joe assessed the problem and made sure to write everything up for me. They came on a Saturday so I didn't have to miss work for the installation. They set a time frame for the work and completed the work in that time frame. They did the installation and left everything spotless. They also offered many different payment options to choose from.

Overall, it was good. The first guy who showed up was not very professional and the quality wasn't great, but I called back and they quickly sent a guy out to fix the problems and redo the work.

He was really thorough, really professional, and took time to explain everything to me. I really liked him.

Everything went really well. It was very smooth and they did a great job.

The technician came out, told us that our furnace was a model made in '94, '95 and '96 and he knew exactly where to check. He came upstairs and said, 'You need a new furnace, and you need it today.' We all trooped downstairs and he showed us with an angle mirror what was burnt out. Well, I can be conned. Had this been any vendor but an Angie's List vendor, I would had sent him on his way and brought in someone else for a double check. I complained that we wanted to sell our townhouse in a couple of years and there was zilch payback value for us in getting a new furnace. He said he could recommend a $2300 furnace, give us an Angie's List price of $2000 and have it installed by 4 p.m. So, the furnace was 16 years old, the guy was on Angie's List, I got out my credit card. The new furnace was delivered and installed that afternoon, by a supervisor, the old carted out with no mess at all, and I am happy.

I called to set up an appointment to have an inspection service offered through a Big Deal. Our date and time were set, and on the appointed day, the technician phoned to say he was in the area and offered to stop by about two hours earlier, if it was convenient. It was, and within 20 minutes, he was at the house. He was friendly and professional. He disappeared into the basement and within 15 minutes, I was called downstairs to look through the camera he had placed in the furnace. It showed rust on the interior of the furnace, and there was a crack inside the furnace, although we couldn't get the camera positioned right so I could see the crack, I didn't doubt its existence. The technician said said the furnace should be replaced because it wasn't safe, and I didn't doubt that either as the furnace was 22 years old and was making strange banging noises, which the technician described as a back draft. I told him I would have to go over the replacement options with my spouse, and the technician happily went through two brochures, describing the energy saving features and pricing. I was able to reach my spouse later that afternoon, and called the technician back to set an installation date, which was the next morning. On schedule the next morning, different technicians showed up to install the furnace, and they worked quickly to put in a furnace that works beautifully. They installed a new thermostat and explained how to use it, then left with the old furnace. Now instead of a behemoth of a furnace, we have an efficient furnace fit for our size home, which is about 2,100 sq. ft. We are very happy with their work and plan to call them back in spring to look at the air conditioner.

I came home from work on the coldest night of the year and my furnace was blowing out cold air. The service number on my furnace wasn't working so I came to Angie's List and found them and called. They came within an hour and it turned out to be an inexpensive part. He even cleaned my furance for me. I am signing up for their maintenance program and I would hightly recommend them.

I was very pleased with how quickly someone was sent to our home. I would have been happy with the high-end estimate of 1 hour. Ten minutes total was great! Prompt arrival on the second day was a plus also. Matt was knowledgeable and an very good communicator. He provided an excellent explanation of the different furnace options including prices and the operational differences between the units. I appreciated that Matt explained the $1500 tax credit that was still in effect for 2010 (last year for this) for the high efficiency units. Big bonus! Because of the response I?d gotten on the phone, I asked Matt to explain the coupon. Initially, I had some difficulty understanding what the coupon would or would not do for me. Eventually I understood that the rebate would be higher or lower depending on what I purchased. After the installation was completed, Brian did a very good job explaining how to change the furnace filter and operate the thermostat. He even taught me some things about my Aprilaire humidifier which was not even part of what they sold me. Brian gave me a new filter for the Aprilaire too. He said I would get a call in a couple weeks from a manager who would schedule a QA visit to make sure everything had been done correctly and to see if I had any questions or concerns. I have never experienced anything like this from a service provider. What a great customer service feature! The only disconcerting thing I had at all during my encounter with ?A Professional? was hearing on the phone that the Angie's List coupon ?might be honored?. I was pleased with the $500 rebate but was not sure if the coupon did that for me or if I would have received that anyway. I suppose the coupon was a benefit because I only broached the subject of a discount because I had the coupon. I would definitely use ?A Professional? again (but hopefully, these units will last a long, long time). They also install water heaters, so that might be my next encounter with them.

Everything went well. They gave me the information that I needed. However, the salesman was rather condescending and rude when they learned that I was going to get other estimates.

Not well - didn't get an appointment as I refused to give them my credit card information before they did the work. I wanted to know what made them think that I should trust them any more then they trusted me. Very weird -

My air conditioner was out when I arrived home from work on the hottest day of the summer so I called their answering service and set up an appointment for the next morning. They were able to have someone arrive first thing in the morning with a 1 hour window but arrived about 15 minutes early which was a good thing. The service manager evaluated my air conditioner compressor, explained what went wrong with it, gave me three options and a quote for each option. The service manager went on to explain the good/bad with each option while never applying any pressure as to what I should do. I am a mechanical engineer so I know that everything he told me was accurate and correct. I chose to have them install a new air conditioner compressor and coil. They were able to start the installation the same day so I went on to work. When I arrived home from work everything was complete and working great. Except for a minor water leak from the condensation pump, which was fixed the same day I called it in, everything worked as expected. About a week later they called to do a quality inspection so I took some time to talk with them about replacing the heater. They were able to come down on the pricing of the furnace so I chose to have them install a new 95% efficient heater. They were able to install the new furnace the next day and carted away the old furnace. All the employee's I worked with were professional and I am very happy with the installation. After the installation was complete they took some time to explain the operation of the new thermostat. I would not hesitate to call A Professional again even though I think their pricing is a little high.

They were excellent: very professional, fast, and reliable. My old AC (about 20 years old) wasn't working very well (it would take a long time to lower the temperature, and had a hard time keeping it down). I called someone else (not in Angie's list). They basically didn't know what they were doing and then I called A Professional. The guy who came soon saw that my compressor was not working. The repair would be too costly and I decided to install a new unit. It was all very fast: I called them at noon and by 7 that evening I had a brand new efficient AC unit. It's working great and I'm actually looking forward to seeing my next electric bill.

Fast. The first day was the quote the second day they came and did the work. I paid for it all being completed on the third day.

Outside fan was not turning on. Tech did a bunch of test and determined it was the exchange (?). He had the part on hand and was able to get the system up and running fairly quickly. This was during the extremely hot period where it was impossible to find a tech to come out. They setup an appt for me in a day or two and showed when they said they would. I'm sure they could of charged me a lot more, but the price was reasonable and the service tech was professional and appeared to do a really good job. Would definitly use this company again.

Our AC wasn't working and they sent someone out the next day at a time that fit our schedule. He was prompt, polite, and extremely knowledgeable. He even did some research into the company who manufactured our AC unit and found a short-cut that wouldn't leave us with a huge bill. We will always use A Professional and will reccommend them to everyone we know. Thank you!!

Very well, they arrived & went right to work (they even helped remove an older furnace that hadn't been in service for years). When they finished a few hours later they cleaned up & left.

Not much to tell - both times their performance was just as expected! On time, pleasant & work done. I knew the water heater was slightly more expensive then if I'd gone out & bought one at the local big box hardware store, but they took care of everything, so it was worth it.

They called back immediately and came out on time to give the quote on the work. They were on time and installed the water heater quickly and efficiently. Cleaned up after themselves, polite and friendly.

We have used them for about 10 years and recently discovered our last contract expired. We then signed up for another five year contract. They clean up, never track dirt around our house and do work by appointment.

They did nice work. They were extremely good in regards to setting up the appointment. They checked it all out before installing it. They were very good. They did what they said they were going to do.
