The guy who came by was pretty courteous. However, all that he did was vacuum out the bottom part of the furnace. While he did share a few care tips regarding the furnace, he specifically told me that my furnace is very close to the washer and that my furnace must be 'cooked' by now and is in need of replacement ASAP (even though it has probably been functional for the past 15 years or more). He immediately spoke over the phone with another colleague of his who is allegedly more specialized in furnace and water heater installation. This guy came by and started quoting me huge numbers to replace the furnace. I also asked about replacing the water heater with a tankless and he said it was feasible and gave me a combined dollar figure for replacing both furnace and WH. When he sensed my hesitation, he dropped the quote by $1500 and that got me concerned that this sounded like a rip off. Besides, this, they tried hard to sell me their yearly protection but I did not make a decision right away. After they were gone, I had my regular Handyman and his furnace guy stop by who told me that a tankless would not be an option since my gas line is too thin to supply the kind of gas needed and that a new dedicated gas line would have to be run.

I purchased three coupons for the $59 for a 21-Point Furnace Clean & check Including Video Inspection of Furnace from A Professional Heating & Cooling through Angie?sList. On December 20, 2011, their technician, Dennis, came to my house to perform the service. We ended up spending a total of $270 because he replaced the humidifier filters and a part. On January 14, 2012, I came downstairs to find water dripping from my ceiling in my family room below the 2nd floor furnace. I called A Professional Heating & Cooling and asked them to send someone back out to check the furnace because it was leaking. I spoke to a techician and he said he had to charge me $96 for a service call. I explained that whatever was done to my furnace on December 20 caused the problem because my furnace was working properly before he came. He said he still had to charge me $96. When Dennis was here on December 20, he also charged us $40 each to change the humidifier filters on my 3 furnaces, so my assumption was that the humidifiers would work properly after he completed his work. On January 14, Dennis came back and checks the furnace, discovers that the humidifier water line was blocked and had a kink in it. I asked him if that was something he should have done during the $59 inspection (21-Point Furnace Clean & check Including Video Inspection of Furnace. He said yes and that he thought he had cleared the line when he was here on December 20. Since the furnace cleaning and inspection was not done properly, I had to pay $96 for the service call this morning in addition to the $59 I paid for the inspection and cleaning AND I am going to have to pay someone to repair and paint the ceiling in my Family Room due to the damage caused by the leak. I will probably have to pay another $200 to $300 to get the ceiling repaired. What I thought was a good deal turnd into a nightmare. This seems like an unethical way to run a business to me. In the past, when companies have not done a job properly or caused damage to my home, they have come back and remedied the situation at no charge to me, as it should be. In some cases these companies have provided compensation to me if I had to get another company to do work that the offending company could not do, such a repair and paint a ceiling. A Professional Heating & Cooling did not offer to repair the damage to my ceiling or help me pay for the ceiling repair, in fact, the representative, Kelly, tried to sell me more services from the company for "free", which meant they would keep my $96 and I would get some sort of service plan. I requested a refund of my $96 for the January 14 service call. It took over a month for them to send me the refund check.This whole experience has made me hesitant to try any additional "deals" from Angie's List.

They were very knowledgeable. I have used them twice. They did what needed to be done. They were efficient. They were prompt. They offered me a $20 coupon to save me money. They called ahead when they were going to be early.

The gentlemen found a leak in my humidifier and quoted me for a price that was reasonable. He checked and I was under warranty, so he saved me $90.00. He was hired to clean two furnaces, so he was extremely proactive in helping with the existing leak.

They were great. This was the first time that we used them. We have connected apartments and all three of us used them. It’s something like a duplex apartment. We don’t remember how much we spent on their services. They were professional and very thorough. They explained everything. They were really great. Their pricing was probably great. They were here on time. We will use them again in the future if we need to.

The installation went ok, but there are still times I walk through the house and small that odor. That still makes me nervous.

We spent a fortune. Actually what I did was, I bought one of the coupons with Angie’s List, one of the air conditioner cleaning coupons. However, in the course of him cleaning the unit, we found some pretty serious problem with it, so we ended up replacing the whole unit. He actually took me out there and proved it to me. Therefore, I do not think he was bluffing. He showed me where it was not working properly and where it was leaking. He recommended that we consider replacing it in the near future. My husband was kind of fanatic about air conditioning so we thought of better to go ahead and do it now. I think they came out the next day and brought the new unit. They were very professional and quick. They cleaned up after themselves and there was absolutely no problem. I definitely would use their services again in the future.

The service was performed quickly. The technician left the area clean.

They have come out one time and they were punctual. It went fine and there were no problems. The price was fine, and we had my mother's senior discount, which was helpful. We have experienced more expensive pricing at other places, so it was fine.

They had total professionalism. they were prompt and they stayed here until all the work was done. They were great and after everything was installed they showed us proper usage of different aspects of the install. They cleaned up and you wouldn't of even known they were there.

He was great! He completed the annual furnace check-up and cleaning. I had a replacement filter for the humridifier on hand and he installed it for me. He even helped me reprogram the thermostat. The work was performed thoroughly and efficiently.

Great. The technician called to say he was on his way. Was very polite and professional and answered all my questions without issue.

Both servicemen were very pleasant and respectful. Within three minutes of their looking at my boiler system, they said I would need a liner in my chimney. One employee contacted the home office; the liner would be approx. $2100. I was concerned to say the least. They then suggested that my 13 year old boiler would need to be replaced along with adding the liner because my relief pipe was leaking. They checked the expansion tank when I shared that it had been drained in the past when I had a cleaning and inspection of the boiler system. They said it was not necessary to drain that because it did not have much water in it. We talked about the various options that I had in order to improve my heating system; they were very responsive. When I asked them to email me the specifics of what I needed and why I needed it, one employee was insistent about getting me all the prices right away. I like any estimates of work in writing; so this made me hesitant. After they left my home, I contacted a few trusted friends and neighbors to get their opinions. They suggested that the price for the liner was too high and that I contact other local heating companies to get an estimate. I contacted one that has been in business in my hometown for 60+ years. They came out ASAP and shared that there was no need for the pricey improvements. They drained the expansion tank which was the major problem in the first place. I contacted Angie's list to share my dismay at purchasing a Big Deal that caused me financial worries that I certainly didn't need. I was told that this was an A rated company when the Big Deal was offered. No matter how slow business is, taking advantage of a customer is unethical. If this was the intent of this company, shame on you.

It went well, cost was fair but we were told we needed some parts, which we will eventually replace.

Quick response to call on Angie's List special offer to clean boilers. Technician arrived promptly, was knowledgeable, bled radiators at no extra charge.

Very punctual, always have a manager inspect work after it is installed, it is guaranteed and if one chooses to belong to their Gold membership, they will come on the day of the call and the customer receives discounts on items purchased. I believe that if gold members are not charged for a service call, but that should be checked. Gold members also get free maintenance checks and equipment cleaning bi-annually. They are very friendly and very concerned with the quality of their work, product line and customer service. I love this company, which also goes by D'Andrea - they are a combined company and family owned. I recommend them.

I would NOT EVER recommend this company to anybody! I had them come check the furnace prior to getting cold because it was making some new noises and not blowing very warm air. During the call, they seemed to check and clean things and only told me how old (they said 18 years...it's actually 13 years since the house was totally rhabbed) the heater was and there was some aging but best to wait and probably get a new unit rather than invest in this one. Just over one month later...the first really cold day... I had only cool air blowing. When I called them back and explained I had just had it checked, the service man's first response was the cost of a service call. I questioned if something could have been missed and he said he was only taking care of emergencies (like no heat when it's 16 degrees outside isn't) and didn't express willingness to make it right. So, I called another company who came out within the hour. The gentleman was polite, thorough, knowledgeable and informative. He commented without prompting how dirty the unit seemed and then couldn't believe I had had it service so recently. In addition, he immeidately saw that the burners were not completely lighting and the ones lit were not fully engaged....something that a simple furnace check should have uncovered. It turns out that the issue was that the gas pressure setting in the unit AND the blower power setting were both WRONG. Again, something that...even if not done by the previous serviceman, should have been noticed and addressed.

A technician called me 2 hours before my scheduled time to say they would be early. Tick Tock... 50 minutes after my confirmed start time, Matt called to say they would arrive within 20 minutes. No problem, jobs happen that need attention. I should have been called sooner than 50 minutes after confirming an actual early arrival time As other members stated, I was told that my furnace was in so so condition. I was told it was rusted out, so I asked to be shown the rust. There was a tiny bit but nothing to cause alarm. Before I asked to be seen the video, I was told that carbon monixide could be leaching into our air. I said good thing I have co2 monitors all over the place.I do believe that the company does try to upsell fo new purchases but what company doesn't. Overall, they did a fine job with the inspection, cleaning and video. I would use them again for annual maintenance.

When I called to schedule my appointment, they showed up immediately. That really impressed me. The gentleman who came to my home was very charming, but I wasn’t happy with his recommendation. He advised me that I should buy a new $600.00 humidifier. I told him I wanted to think about it, and I then called a company I’ve been using for years. This other provider came out and performed a general cleaning, and everything worked fine thereafter. Basically, the guy from A Professional Heating and Cooling tried to sell me new products when what I had just needed simple repairs.

The technician was punctual and professional. He arrived within the promised time frame. He performed the service required and left the area clean and neat. I would use this company again.

We were told how old our furnace was (About 5 years old) and a little bit about what kind of furnace it is. During the 21-point inspection we had a new filter put in. The inspection was very thorough. If we have any problems with our heating system in the future I will use them again because I feel I can trust them to give me honest answers about my system.

Jackie and Gary arrived within the specified appt. time. They cleaned the furnace quickly. They told me what they found after inspecting the furnace, they did not push for me to buy anything. They let me know what to expect and stated that they would be out to replace the part if I chose. I appreciated their honesty and non-pushiness. I will definitely call them again to replace the part.

He came yesterday to have everything cleaned. Heat Exchanger was rusted out and that it was leaking out CO2. Supposedly, he cleaned the entire unit and he told us that we need an entire new unit. The report itself says, "Heater: Do Not Use." My husband had to vacuum after him as he had left a mess on the floor. There is a safety switch that is supposed to flip but ours is disabled. He said we needed to replace it immediately. The way he mentioned everything was dangerous and not up to code made us alarmed. We are members of American Home Shield so they had their regular company come out to double-check our furnace. We weren't convinced that we needed a new furnace. The inspector said the unit just needs a good cleaning and was surprised when we said we had it cleaned the day before by A Professional Heating & Cooling Inc. He also said we did not need a new furnace as it is still working properly. He also had a CO2 monitor that he put near the furnace and showed no leakage. I understand that it is an older unit; however, they are scamming people. If you look at the recent reports for this company, you can see that each one has had a new furnace put it due to this Big Deal. I feel as though they are taking advantage of people and am so thankful that we had a second opinion on the matter.

Purchased the Angie's Deal of the 21 point furnace inspection. Figure to get all three of my furnace inspected before the cold sets in. Once the purchase was completed the company sent me a reminder few day later to schedule my appointment with them. So, I did the Technician did call half hour before the appoint schedule time that he was arriving on schedule (I didn't expect that). Arrived on time. Showed him all the furnace 3 in total. He began with the top level down. I just happened to be doing maintenance on the building as well so was with him for the most part (not hovering around him by the way, just letting him do his 'thing'). Tech seem knowledgeable, when asked questions he gave me his opinion and professional answer (answer could be subjective, I didn't agree with a few of them). Anywho, company should of clarify with what a 21 point consist (customer should ask as well) because I didn't see him do a check on amp and volt on motor, measure temp difference for air supply/return or carbon mono either (again, not sure if flame indicated otherwise) Some of these tune up are basic, it would be nice as a consumer to differentiate with a basic 21 point vs a precision 21 point tune up, IMO.

It went well. The service technician explained everything well but I got the feeling that he was trying to sell a product when it was not required.
