Appletree Developement

We needed a shed in our backyard, but we were not impressed with any available at the usual home improvement stores; they seemed to be not only expensive, but kind of shoddily-built. So we contacted Jeff Pokryfke of Appletree Development in our hometown of Minooka. Jeff came right out to look over the site and called a day or so later with his estimate. Because our yard is sloped and sometimes collects water in the area we wanted the shed, he recommended a concrete foundation. Although the estimate was a bit more than we had planned on, when we considered that it included exactly the size and height we wanted, all the labor and materials,as well as the concrete, it really did seem reasonable (especially compared to what we had seen at the stores. We went ahead and Jeff build a 10 x 8 shed with 10 ft high walls, a gambrel roof with a window, double doors, and the concrete foundation, finished with fiberboard siding, cedar trim, and a shingled roof. It looks great! He also put in a large upper storage area. We were very impressed with the quality of the work, his timeliness in completing it, and his communication at each point in construction. Additionally, I really like how he thoroughly cleaned up the worksite - no stray nails, boards, trash, etc. left behind. We will definitely be calling him again when we are ready to remodel our two bathrooms.
