Your Chicagoland Remodeling

Funny story, my husband gave them the wrong paint (his fault), which was similar in the paint family of beige so not a huge deal but he had to run out and get another gallon because the connections were already painted. Now we have two unused gallons that we will give away, not a huge deal. But they were very patient in waiting for the paint doing little unimportant things that I asked for help with ie: fixing a shade... They ended up staying for probably an extra 2 hours I would guess with no complaint. We defenitely will be asking them back to paint the rest of the area the same color soon :o). I highly recommend them to anyone, in fact I just did to a neighbor that needs the exact same thing done!

I called Christian and he came out and checked on everything that I needed done. He sent me a proposal and I looked it over. It was the Easter Holiday and asked him to come out after Easter. We picked a date and they came out and did the work in one day. I was very pleased with the work done. The clean-up made it easier on me to mop and replace furniture. I will re-hire them to do more work. Christian was very professional and I am grateful that I found them on Angie's List.

The whole remodel went very well and the renovation was finished in 11 working days. Cris and his crew (all named Cris by the way) arrived daily at 8 a.m. and sometimes didn't go home until 6 or 7pm. They worked very quickly on the first day and removed all of the debris daily. The attention to detail was great. Cris even managed to find bricks that matched the outside of our house for the windows. They worked around some measurement problems (not their mistake) to make the final product look seemless. After everything was done the baseboard radiator wasn't working correctly and Cris was more than happy to stop by and bleed out the air that was causing the problem. He even called the next day to ask if everything was working. We highly recommend this company and we are getting quotes from Cris for two other projects in our home.

The remodel went well aside from a few complications on our end, but the crew was patient and made sure to remedy any problems. They arrived on time ready to work on the days they promised and completed the project as scheduled. We are very happy with their service and will use them again in the near future.

We are glad we went with this contractor. Our experience was absolutely wonderful despite the fact we suffered such an unfortunate event. I remember the initial conversation we had and it was reassuring to know that they would be able to come within a few hours to help alleviate the situation. The crew was friendly, respectful, and very understanding throughout the project. We had a few questions as well as changes come up during the work and they always took the time to listen to our concerns. Everything was completed on time and we are very satisfied with the quality. I've dealt with plenty of contractors in the past and I know that I would love to deal with these guys if I ever need to in the future.

Estimate and references were provided promptly. Work began as scheduled with minimal disruption and was completed within time and budget. Overall a very good experience.

He had no problems with the fact that my to do list grew exponentially every time I emailed him. His team was efficient, hardworking, and trustworthy. I had no problems leaving them alone in my home and with a copy of my keys. I will definitely use them again.

They were very reasonable, professional, and did quality work.

He came out really quickly. I called him and I think he came the same day that evening. He was really flexible on the hours. The estimate was for about $1700 or $1800. I got another estimate which was about the same. He came out right away but actually to get the estimate I did have to call him a couple of times.

They did a great job though I did not give them much time. They pulled off all the old carpets, sanded the entire original hard wood floor. I would recommend them to others. When they replaced the water pipes they also put in a new heater. It was all galvanized so put in all copper pipes. The wiring was 80 years old so they replaced all the wiring. In the bathroom they put in ceramic tiles. They did it all in four weeks time before we moved in. They did it all pretty quick. Price wise I found them reasonable compared to the quotes I got. I will use them in the future.

I did not Chris for this project, but I was impressed with him attention to details and he was very responsive. He was at my house within 24 hours of my first contact and had a quote prepared for me within a few days.

Chris Mazur and his team were not only cost efficient, but punctual, courteous, knowledgeable, and clean as well. They installed a basement bathroom basically from nothing more than a small storage closet. In a matter of 6 working days, the bathroom we envisioned was constructed. We are very pleased with the results, will definitely use them in the future for any remodeling/updating needs and have already referred them to others.

The company was very responsive. I had a remodeling project to do, I had 2 estimates and was looking for a third. They got back with me and we went over everything we were going to do. Two days later, he called me with an estimate, and his estimate was twice as much as what others were offering. I think there might have been a miscommunication in what I required versus what he quoted.

We decided to hire Dortmund because of a positive experience our neighbors had with Chris and I could see firsthand the quality of the services he would provide. It was the first time we did any major remodeling in our condo and we were afraid of the dust and mess, plus we didn't really have a very clear picture of how the process was going to go, but I am pleased to say it all went extremely well. Chris was professional and personable from the beginning to the end of the project. He was responsive, accommodating and reliable. His crew was fast, efficient, careful, courteous, punctual and easy to communicate with. They left the place as clean as possible at the end of each working day, and they performed the job in exactly six days of intense labor. You would think that there were twice as many workers. The final results are really beautiful and we are very happy with our new kitchen and bathrooms. I can't think of any negative things to say, every time we didn't like something they were quick to fix it to our liking. We will definitely use Dortmund Construction services again, in fact very soon, because now we want to fix everything in the house. I recommend their services without reservations.

They are definitely competitive but it felt like they were not listening to what I was saying and what I wanted. We had a flat roof which we wanted to make into a slanted roof as it was leaking. They came in competitive but it felt like he was more interested in the windows than the remodeling work.

They were very polite and nice. They were fairly prompt. Their quote was pretty good as well. I will consider them for a quote in the future.

Excellent quality work. Done in a very efficient and timely manner. The final product is absolutely beautiful. They made sure to communicate with me during the project. Any unforeseen problems with the project were quickly resolved. There was great attention given to even the smallest details. I would definitely hire Your Chicagoland Remodeling for more work in my home, and I would definitely recommend their work to others.

Chris and his workers did many things in my house: installation of a Kitchen (including plumbing and light installation via subcontracted plumber and electrician), and wall painting. I am very happy about the result. The workers were on site everyday and they finish the job as planned and on time. Chris was courteous, professional and nice. He readily provided information and answered my questions all through. A few times, I asked him to adjust a few things in the work that was not exactly to my satisfaction, and he satisfied my requests. I highly recommend him for his service.

Chris came to provide an estimate very soon after my initial phone call. He was very open to listening to our ideas while providing his own thoughts and feedback. He noted all of our concerns and requests. He always made me feel that my requests were appropriate and followed my instructions exactly. He was able to start the project on our schedule. Chris was on site for all the work. He arrived on time and cleaned up at the end of each day. The project took one day shorter than expected, but no details were sacrificed!

We were very pleased with Your Chicagoland Remodeling. We had Chris out to provide an estimate in May. We ultimately scaled down some of the work we were originally considering, and Chris quickly revised the estimate for the revised scope of work. Chris recommended the place we purchased the tile from, and advised on the type of grout we would need. We scheduled the date and time for the tiling to begin. A few days before, Chris came over to review the project again and to receive the deposit for the work. When the work was scheduled to start, Chris and another individual on his team arrived early. The tile installation in our kitchen area looks great. Very professional. Chris was very cognizant of keeping our home as clean as possible during the work. Once was the tile was complete, he and another associate returned to do some wallpapering. Again, our home was kept neat and clean during the wallpapering. We felt completely comfortable having Chris and his associates in our home. His company is very fair, professional, and he and his staff are very nice. They are a talented group of craftsmen, with great experience, and were a pleasure to deal with.

Chris worked with us on refurbishing and modernizing our kitchen and he was great. We are very pleased with our new kitchen. We live in an old building with uneven surfaces and non-standard walls and spaces. Chris and his crew did a great job of hiding these pre-existing imperfections in our kitchen. He was very flexible when we decided the wall paint color we had selected wasn't good. The kitchen looks great now and we are very pleased. Chris provided us with a labor only quote which allowed us to select all of the finishes as we liked. His company self-performed the majority of the work. (The one exception was the counter top and we worked directly with an excellent contractor that he recommended). We worked hard with Dortmund to make sure that all of the finish items were ready before he started the project and he was able to complete the project in less than a week. This was fantastic since we didn't have to live too long in a construction zone. I would certainly recommend Dortmund for a kitchen remodel project.

One year ago, I had water seepage in the ceiling of an upstairs bedroom. My husband put roofing tar on a small area of fascia next to a window, and it did the trick. No more seepage. However, the tile ceiling drooped a little, and whenever it rained, there was a mildew smell in the room. We needed to replace the ceiling tiles. I emailed Your Chicagoland Remodeling to explain our problem. I received a response by the next morning, then contacted Chris (Your Chicagoland Remodeling) by telephone to schedule an estimate. I explained that I needed the work done quickly, because we were to have a graduation party in three weeks. Chris came by my house early that evening, and I had a written proposal the next morning. I had contacted two other remodelers -- one of them came out for an estimate, the other couldn't even tell me when he could give me an estimate. Well, Chris was ready to start the job before the other company could give me their written proposal. Since time was of the essence, I accepted Chris's proposal to demolish my tile ceiling, replace it with drywall, replace the ceiling light fixture, properly repair the rotted fascia outside, and paint the ceiling (the walls are knotty pine). Chris and his assistant showed up bright and early on the Tuesday after Memorial Day. They were professional, courteous, and very efficient. The job was to take three days, but they got it done in two. When they finished, the bedroom was clean, beautiful, and no more mildew smell. I feel very fortunate to have found Your Chicagoland Remodeling on Angie's list. I have Chris's business card magnet on my refrigerator, so I'll never forget whom to call when I need work done.

Chris and his crew were very professional and courteous. They performed the kitchen remodel in a way that was very professional. I am so happy with the results .My remodelled kitchen looks great. Chris was very concerned about our satisfaction and worked hard to make sure every detail was to our liking. I had some requests that were not common for this geographic area and the team worked hard to successfully complete the requests (LED undercabinet and CR-6 can lights needing different dimmers and transformer). I would definitely use this company again.

Chris is great! He was prompt on getting back to us, came out immediately, showed us samples (On Easter Sunday). Thanks to his dedication to detail, we were more than pleased with his results and look forward to do more business with him in the short-term future. I highly recommend him and his team.
