The company is a local authorized service provider for Kohler residential standby generators. The company was able to schedule a repair appointment with me within 24 hours. The technician showed up on time and fixed the problem. Since my generator is still under manufacturer's warranty, I was not required to pay anything for the service/repair. If needed, I would use the company again.
Description of Work: I requested repair under warranty on my Kohler 20RESAL residential standby generator.

Description of Work: My Dad told us (his two sons) to buy backup generators for our houses. We did. I have a four-year old Briggs+Stratton ($5994.80) sitting behind my house that has no warranty, and MPower (Downers Grove) wants $2100 to fix it. They set it up incorrectly. It has less than 60 hours use on it. (That's equivalent to a drive around the block once a year, for three yeas.) Note: MPower (Paul) has earned it's (F,A,D,F) rating.

+ -1 moreSince the install, we receive a yearly phone call to schedule an oil change and maintenance. I appreciate this service since I have so many other things to remember. The maintenance people over the past 7 years have been professional, on-time, (because who wants to waste half a day waiting for repair person or contractor) and complete all the necessary work. They always take the time to help if I have questions. I have received excellent customer service each time I contacted their office. MPower is a proactive company. We were contacted after several intervals of power-outages in a row, in our area. They checked-in to make sure that the generator was operating properly after such heavy use. It's a pleasure referring friends to MPower because the feedback is always positive.
Description of Work: After a 17 hour power outage during a heavy rainstorm, we had exhausted two battery back-ups and were no longer able to keep the sub-pump working. We contacted MPower as well as three other companies. During the initial sales call Mr. Adank spent quite a bit of time educating us regarding the brands of generators available, prices and options that would be suitable for our purposes. At no time was there any pressure or sales pitch to purchase the most expensive products. We chose MPower because of their knowledge, pricing and ability to provide future service. The installer was always on time, completed the work as said and kept a very tidy job site. (This was important to me because the install required him moving throughout finished portions of our home) Within 3 phases the install was complete, as promised. Then we received some training from MPower regarding the new generator and some quick tips for troubleshooting. It is an engine so regular maintenance is required just like a vehicle. They installed a Kohler Generator and have continued to maintain and service our generator over the years. It has been a pleasant and professional experience.

+ -1 moreI requested a quote for a whole house generator installation. I have an idea what an installation will cost me, but I wanted another quote. I did receive an email with an "estimate" stating the cost is about $X,XXX. First, how can I receive a proper estimate when my power needs were never identified or quantified? Second, the price I was emailed was roughly double what I have received in two other quotes. It is a strange way to do business. Perhaps this company doesn't want business.

+ -1 moreThis company (actually a previous company owned by the owner of this company) installed my generator. Generators are expensive so you expect them to work in the event of a power outage. This generator has been nothing short of a constant repair job. One after another. My most recent experience with this company was that once again my generator didn't work so the repair man came out and did some repair and then said there is something here that needs to be repaired but don't worry it's covered by warranty. Well when they came to repair the part I discovered the part was covered by warranty but the labor was not. I called to complain because I felt that should have been divulged before I ordered the part, not that I wouldn't have ordered it. When I called to complain I was told that I should know the warranty and I should know all the appliance warranties in my house. i felt that when I am told something is covered by warranty that it should be 100% covered! Seriously--who knows all the warranties on their house?? Maybe I caught the guy on a bad day but I thought he was very rude!
Description of Work: On site service because generator wasn't working. Turns out it needed oil so he fixed that and then found another issue. Some automatic button wasn't working.
