WARNING?.DO NOT DO BUSINESS with EJK or Eric Korngoot!! I was completely ripped off. After giving them an opportunity to make things right I have filed a suit in small claims court. Above and beyond the horrendous and indefensible results (photos attached), and the aggressive and abusive attitude of Eric Korngoot, owner, there was also damaged property and a myriad of unfinished details. I had to beg Eric to come see the finished work. It was ?finished? on the July 14th, he bullied me for the check on the July 15th even though I still had issues . He was playing on my humanity and said he needed to make payroll and would be sure to take care of all the pending issues we had, and then?. stereotypically?. got the check and ignored, blew smoke, lied, and hid from me. I persisted until I FINALLY got him to come see the ?finished? work on August 5th. He said he was there to "resolve the issue" but once again went mute after his visit. In order of egregiousness: 1) Basement bathroom tiles. The tiles are not aligned and there is a white film covering the perimeter of the room. The tiles are misaligned as a result of their work team not communicating well. Initially the owner tried to blow smoke in my face saying it was due to the pitch of the floor but I was there when the 2 guys that were working on the bathroom exploded at each other. Apparently the plumbing guy took a bucket and stood on the unset floor misaligning big portions of the tiles. The guy that had laid the tiles was furious and swearing at the guy who had stood on the bucket on an unset floor. I asked that they align the tiles manually at first hoping that would be enough to solve the problem. They adjusted some of them but ultimately they lost appetite for moving any more tiles and it was nowhere near acceptable. When I pressed for Eric Korngoot and EJK Services to come resolve the problem he said there was nothing more they could do. He said ?you knew what kind of job we were going to do, I told you, you shouldn?t be surprised? and he told me to stop ?nitpicking? them to death. In addition you will note the white film over the tiles which I was told was ?normal? and would ?wear off with time? as we walk on it. Forget that it is all along the wall so unless someone walks around the perimeter of the room with their back to the wall several thousand times, we are stuck with it. As it turns out this is something that commonly happens if you grout a floor before you grout a wall. The white grout from the wall spilled onto the black grout from the floor and has left a permanent film. 2) Upstairs bathroom floor. You will note that the whole floor has ridges. Eric claims to not see them. He is the only sentient being who has seen the floors that cannot see the ridges, all other seeing people have immediately identified them as ridges. In addition to that, there are dark cloudy spots throughout the bathroom and grout and even cement is thick on many tiles. They were very curious and suspicious about who might be walking on my floors. Again the workman himself said he mixed 2 different grouts together and that that might be the source of the problem?but then later they have selective memory like we never had that conversation. 3) This contractor was so over the top with attitude and aggression as to be intentionally intimidating. Instead of showing any concern or taking an interest in resolving problems or delivering a quality or even average product, he would become very agitated and raise his voice at me. At one point he left me five rapid fire VERY aggressive and abusive voicemails because he thought I was holding his check. He also sent me a threatening email. He was rude and over the top with the people who worked for him swearing and yelling at them. 4) ?The little things? that add up - Eric was so aggressive when I told him about this list. a. They replaced a piece of piping on my sink. The part they put in was PVC and the rest of the existing piping was of course metal. They tried to tell me that they don?t make metal any more so I would have to deal with the unsightly PVC (photo attached ) b. They simply took a wet saw to the edges of the tiles in my basement bathroom instead of putting in bullnose tile(photo attached) c. They installed defective tile (in a highly lit visible spot to boot) (photo attached) d. As they did one of the floors they backed up towards a hall wall. The scuffs and dirt filled the wall and could not be washed out. I had to repaint it (photo attached) e. They painted so sloppily on the ceiling repair I had to redo it completely. f. They dumped copious amounts of grout on my flowers and killed them. I had to dig the muck and dead flowers out (photo attached) g. They dumped so much grout in my basement sink that it clogged on both sides and I spent over an hour trying to solve that problem. Eric the owner mused out loud that maybe they could have done something different but he doesn?t know what. h. They chipped the faucet insert so that water in our upstairs bathroom sink now sprays off in one direction. Removing the insert may result in a broken faucet?which is vintage and therefore harder to find i. They capped off some electricity in the bathroom and one of the electrical caps fell down the faucet and they left it there j. They ?installed? doorknobs without screws k. They grabbed 2 of my best bath towels and used them as rags ? now soiled beyond use l. There was more than a fist full of tire puncturing screws left in the driveway

They were recommended to me by a friend. They also did weather stripping, some gutter work, and put in some lights. They followed up to check if they had done a good job. The prices were very reasonable, and they were negotiable. I was very happy with them, and they did a very good job.
Description of Work: I used EJK Handyman Services to put up a new fence last year.
