The remote control on the ceiling fan was causing it to malfunction. It would take 4-5 clicks before it would turn on or off. The rep removed the remote control and turned the fan into a manual operation mode, which was fine with me. Now you have pull the cord - but it works consistently each time.

I called him on a Wednesday and said he would come Sunday morning and hang the light. My ceiling in the entry is 15 feet tall. He brought the correct equipment to do the job and was done in about 1 hour. On the phone he said it would cost about $100.00 but after he was done with the job without any problems he said I just had to pay $75.00. If I need any more electrical done I will use Shelby Electric and ask for Bill Leisner.

He was professional, and even offered a bit of decorating advice and help accomplishing it. He replaced a faulty dimmer switch and then he hung a new ceiling fixture in my dining area. I hated the white wire that supported my ceiling fixture, and John suggested covering it. I had the perfect thing for that, and he attached my beaded vines to the ugly white wire and completely changed the look of the fixture. Now I have a unique, artistic ceiling light, and a trusted electrician who "thinks outside the box" and whom I'd call any time.

We kept making appointments, and he wouldn't show up. I called him about a month ago and he never called back. So Angie's List contacted him, and he said he'd reach out to me, and I have not heard from him.

We had purchased a big deal for the service, and it turned out fine. This was the first time that I used them. I would recommend them. They were very professional. I haven't had any issues with the lighting since the installation.The pricing was good because it was a special deal, but I don't know what I would say about their normal cost.

I purchased the big deal coupon for this service and it was great. He was very nice and I would recommend him. He was on time as well and I have no complaints. The big deal was for $99 but I ended up spending more than that.

The electrician was great. He could have installed the surge protector, but it wouldn't have done anything to help our house. Instead, he was honest and forthright and showed me exactly why it wouldn't make sense for us to add.

It was a deal $99.00 for 2 hours of electrical work. The job was sub-contracted due to the busy schedule from the deal offered. I had several electrical jobs needing attention around the home. However, due to the limited time we were able to get 4 on the list completed. A ceiling lamp replaced, a ceiling fan/lamp replaced, an outdoor outlet repaired and a bathroom switch replaced. I was very happy with all but one. The fan made a noise when it was turned on and increased in noise with more speed. He did not feel the weights in the kit were needed since the fan appeared level. I was left with a noisy fan. I was given 2 choices, return the fan since it was defective or don't use the 2 higher speeds. I am not the electrician but after a couple of days of not using the fan I added the weights...It rectified the issue. The job was completed but...not thoroughly.

John Rawlings was the electrician who actually did the work. He was courteous, cleaned up after the work, helpful in making decisions. I will use him again in the future.

This was my second Big Deal. Given how well the first one turned out, I was hopeful that this Big Deal would be equally good. Am pleased to report that it was. Provider's professionalism was spot on. An attentive listener, he knew exactly what to do once the problems were described and dispatched each of them with remarkable efficiency. I've done more than a few DIY electrical projects in my time and have been successful with most of them. Two of those that weren't are what this report is about. It was refreshing to watch a real electrician get the job done right the first time.

Everything was perfect. What materials he did not have, he went to the local hardware store and picked them right away. The price above also includes all the fixtures and switches and bulbs. It was an exceptional deal for us. We will call him again.

Bill and Mike were absolutely great! They ran into serious issues with the family room due to obstacles in the walls and ceiling, but they kept us informed of options and did the work with minimal patching needed. The bedroom work was done quickly with no patching needed. I absolutely recommend Shelby Electric, and will hire them for any electrical work that I don't tackle myself. Thanks!

It turned out well. He had to go up in the attic, a tight spot and it was hot. I think he did a pretty good job. Then had to come back second time not because any of his fault, he had to come back the second time because when the original people built the house, they ran some venting PVC in between the joints and so we were having him replace a bath fan as part of his thing and in there was not enough room to put a new bath fan and really any new bath fan. Now days I guess they make them bigger and so there was not enough room so he put the old one and after he took it out he put the old one back. And I had to get somebody else in here to move the vent pipes up in the attic and then he came back after that to put the finish to the job. He did a good job; he was there when he was supposed to be, and he was a nice guy and seemed to know what he was doing. I think he could have been better with clean up but it wasn't all his fault there was a huge dry, he had to cut dry wall everywhere and so there was dust all over the place.

The work took approximately two hours. Electrician, John, did a great job. Very courteous and professional. He cleaned all mess before leaving. We asked him to quote for more work on the spot since we were so pleased with the service. He was running slightly late, but did give us a call to notify us of the delay. All in all we were very satisfied and would use again.

No complaints against the merchant but we did not arrive at a agreeable price for the project. I have also got the project done from a separate electric service company.

It went well. The subcontractor that was hired by Shelby Electric to fulfill these Angie's List deals came to my home and installed some bathroom fans that I purchased from Menards. He did a good job and I just paid him cash. Like I mentioned, I could not wait for the other bath fans to come in.

We have since had him back to complete additional work. We are very pleased with the quality of his work.

John called a day before the scheduled appointment to go over what needs to be done. It was great for them to do that in order to know what type of tools, equipments, parts, or skills that are required for the job. They got the job done, everything met expectation. Will use them again for sure.

I initially contacted John on a Sunday, and he got back to me early Monday morning. He told me he would be out on the day I needed at around 1. He called me a bit before 1 to tell me he was running late with the previous job and updated his eta to 2, which is when he arrived. When John arrived, I told him that my younger son was taking a nap, and he obligingly used hand tools rather than a power screwdriver to access everything with no complaints. He tracked the wiring to a closet light a previous owner had installed (poorly, as it turns out) and rewired the fixture so that the power was restored and it would not happen again in the future. Although he usually has a 2-hour minimum for a job, he quite nicely only charged me for the time he spent on the job since I was an Angie's List member. All in all, I was very pleased with John's work. He was courteous, efficient and professional, and I would gladly use his services again!
