One of the greatest challenges that I had on this project was the fact that it was being constructed over a septic tank and an aeration unit. When I moved into my house it had a deck but unfortunately my septic system failed and I had to have it all tore up to replace, leaving me with an ugly aeration tank cover and a septic tank cover to stare at where my deck once was. Every company I had over to quote on the project told me how much difficulty I was going to have with permitting, and no doubt I agree given the fact that I had to work with not only ONE department but TWO departments (Health Department). Anyways, what set Rock Solid Builders apart from anyone else is they handled the permitting process from beginning to end, only coming to me wen I needed to fill in the blanks. It was a battle (as expected) but they saw it through and got everything approved. If I had done it myself I most likely would have thrown in the towel halfway through the process. The deck was built with the highest quality and is strong and sturdy....it is Rock Solid you could say. Any issues that I have had, and there was one minor cosmetic issue, they immediately came out and fixed the problem. I would highly recommend Rock Solid Builders for any projects you may have. They are courteous, helpful, knowledgeable and responsive.

We are absolutely delighted with our beautiful deck. Butch was very responsive to our needs and planned and executed a perfect deck for us. He even constructed a great planter box for us that really adds to the function of the deck. Our project was delayed because of weather, but it was certainly worth the wait. Butch and his crew are very professional, they take time and care with their projects. We would highly recommend Rock Solid Builders.

I was very satisfied with the work performed. The balcony looks great. I had to wait 8 weeks before the service was performed, but I was told about that up front when scheduling the estimate. Anna was very responsive with any questions I had.

We had a big party planned for July and were worried the work might not be done in time. Rock Solid Builders was able to arrange their schedule to complete our job in plenty of time for us to hold our party. We are very pleased with our new deck and were happy they could save our gazebo. The crew was friendly and easy to work with. Butch and Anna kept us informed as the work progressed and promptly addressed all concerns and modifications.

It was a pleasure working with Rock Solid Builders, Inc.. We were updated throughout the process and they were always available for any questions. Any issue, no matter how minor, was resolved quickly and everyone was professional and friendly. We are very pleased with the final product. The deck is gorgeous and the workmanship exceptional.

I received three bids all from companies I found on Angie’s List and I chose Rock Solid to complete the work. I worked closely with Anna and Butch and they were both phenomenal.They were on time and came under budget. They were honest, very well organized, kept their word and continued to keep me informed at every step of way. They were just fabulous! I would hire them again without hesitation.

My experience with Rock Solid Builders, Inc. was good, he was great, he showed us some issues about the deck that we didn't know were there. He was friendly, courteous and professional, his price was pretty high but he was nice about it. He came out first to look at the deck and that is how I knew about it.

It was a rough time to have a deck installed, and RSB battled the elements to get the job done. They were professional, courteous, and on time! The office manager was a wonderful communicator. After the bad weather moved on, RSB came back upon our request to repair a board at no charge. I would definitely use them again and refer them to a friend!

Butch worked with us on the design, and we went through three designs before deciding on the one that best fit our needs. Butch was very patient and offered many creative ideas to this process. The final design included an octagon seating area, a split staircase to the yard, stair lighting, and aluminum spindles to give the deck a more professional look. As a comparison, another highly ranked deck company on Angie's List provided an estimate that had a cost that was 60% higher, and the design was not as original. Rock Solid Builders took care of the building permit. They started and completely the work during the time period they estimated. Upon completion, the yard was cleaned up very well. Most importantly, the final product exceeded our expectations. We have had several neighbors stop to say they love the deck, and a couple have asked for the company information to get an estimate for their deck needs.

Fantastic! Butch and Anna worked through multiple iterations of quotes and options, ultimately presenting us with a plan that was within our budget and needs. I very much appreciated their flexibility in this regard.

Butch and team provided a very reasonable quote compared to other quotes I had received. They were very prompt on the day of the job and completed the work in the expected amount of time. Extra repairs were found to be needed and the repairs were made without charging extra. The Quality of work is excellent. Commucation from start ot finish with Anna and Butch was excellent. Would HIGHLY recommend!!!

I could not have asked for better service. Anna, in the office, e-mails back immediately and was very kind and responsive. Butch, who provided the estimate and participated in the work, is kind, fair, efficient, and is great at his craft. The finished product was perfection... and there was absolutely no debris! They even mailed me a hand written thank you note following the project. Very happy indeed.

Applied for all necessary permits as well as handling inspections. All work completed within 5 days.

Rock Solid Builders are the BEST!! Anna was organized and very prompt in responding to our questions and concerns. Butch was hands on in designing and building our deck from start to finish. We are beyond happy with our deck and will recommend RSB to all of our friends, family, and neighbors.

I initially called Rock Solid Builders, Inc. as they had great credentials. They told me that they did not do deck refinishing and staining as I needed, but highly recommended a company that does that type of work for them. I then called the company recommended which I had great luck with. The company is J. P. Interiors, 1716 Tall Tree Lane, Johnsburg, IL 60051. Phone No. 815-385-9354. Owner: Steve Poczkalski. I called and left a message with his secretary. He called back the same day and came out within a few days to give me an estimate. He is a very clean cut type of guy who I felt would be very trustworthy. He submitted a proposal the following day, which I accepted. He started work when the weather was permitting. He was extremely good at communicating when he would be working. He and his crew completed the work in two full days. I was extremely happy with the results and will contact him again when I need other work done. He does commercial, residential painting and remodeling.

Anna & Butch are a dream to work with!!! I contacted them via email and got a response the following day. Butch drove over an hour in a snowstorm to check out the jobsite. We got an estimate within the next couple days. The deck construction started within two weeks of the paperwork being signed. The whole process took about 2-3 weeks. Can't beat the price and the deck is better than I could of ever imagined. I would recommend them to anyone needing work done.

My husband and I had been actively interviewing contractors. We were nearly ready to sign with one, went on vacation then decided to interview at least one more contractor to be sure. In steps Butch. I can't emphasize this enough, his knowledge and expertise were above all other! He took our beginner layout and adjusted it to best fit our house. He made sure the deck & stairs were structured around the windows without blocking the view of our backyard. He brought up structural knowledge and planning around the screened in porch that no others had brought up. It only took half way through our first meeting to know we certainly wanted to award the project to Rock Solid Builders. His wife, Anna, runs the office. Through the planning/building process she was very prompted to answer all e-mails. Their organization and professionalism topped other contractors as well - not to mention their price! On top of it they stand by their work and make sure we are 100% happy. Butch, Anna & team truly cared about our project as if it was their own. We now have a fantastic & beautiful TREX deck and screened in porch. Unknown neighbors have stopped by to compliment the work and ask for their contact information. We couldn't be happier with how it turned out.

In general, my experience with them was good. I think they understand construction and craftsmanship well. There were a few communication issues. For example, the office would tell me the owner would be by my home in the morning, but he would actually arrive in the afternoon. That being said, I think they did try very hard to make me happy. I would give them a B+ for my overall experience if I could.

They were amazing on each occasion! The nice thing about them is their reliability. They’ll show up on time, and the final cost will match their estimate. I absolutely plan on working with them again.
