These guys are great to work with. From getting the estimate to the end, it was a real pleasure having them around. They made sure not to come too early and never stayed longer than 3 pm, which gave our family down time from the noise and such. They always took the time to clean up after themselves and keep me posted what was going to happen next so I could plan accordingly. They also gave me many great suggestions in the planning process and never got upset when I changed my mind causing something to be redone. Where they ruined their perfect score was when they got busy with another job and tried to finished my job quickly causing the final touches to be done unprofessionally. An example is my splash guard which is tile. It was done with no spacers causing it to be uneven and crooked. The grout that was used is an excellent color but air holes are appearing and ugly gaps. The subcontractors that they hired is where the problems occurred. The plumber especially did not hook up my sink correctly which, first time, caused a flooding onto my new floor and new cabinets. He did come back and added a turn off valve under the sink, fixed the leak, and apologized profusely. However, then it was discovered that a part to the sink was pitched and therefore had to order that part again, the hook up was not to code, no air way was installed, so the drain gurgled and drained slowly. The plumber also hooked up to an old galvanized pipe which hasn't been used for decades causing my new faucet to clog up so bad that it had to be replaced. Then there was the refrigerator, my new refrigerator. The water line was hooked put again to the old galvanized pipe which clogged up my water line. I was told that I just need to change the filter frequently. The water was coming out very slowly and black. This all was corrected by me hiring another plumber. The copper line was there and easily hooked up. The sink and dishwasher and garbage disposal was redone and all is well. The plumber also scratched my new hardwood floor by moving the refrigerator and dishwasher. Nothing was said about this or no one offered to repair it. Quality Builders were informed about all this except my hiring a new plumber. Another subcontractor was the electrician. He installed outlets above my cabinets for lights that were never discussed. Also, they stand out and look terrible, so I had them painted to blend into the walls and put objects to hid them. He also said he had to order a part for the outside lights and an outlet inside and has never returned. Another subcontractor was the cement company. They came with a huge cement truck and crushed the entrance of our driveway. This was discussed and they agreed to come back and repair it. Quality Builders have been reminded many times and I was told that they would repair it next time they were in town. As I mentioned, overall, the kitchen looks great but could have done without these disappointments. When you pay $73,000 for a new kitchen, I guess it is asking too much to have everything perfect.
