This deck project started with a picture I had from a deck magazine and through the expertise and guidance of this contractor turned into an outdoor paradise far removed and many times more functional and appealing than the original deck we thought we wanted to have. Mike Turrell has many years of experience and it showed in his confidence and determination throughtout this project to make this the perfect deck for us. Mike spent many hours discussing and planning this deck with us, going so far as to bring us to other projects he had done in the neighborhood to give us an idea about workmanship, materials, etc. I had doubts about his idea of the patio cover, originally wanting pergolas built on each end of the deck. I am very discriminating (my husband will say picky to a fault!) and had very definite ideas about what I wanted for this space. Mike will build whatever you want him to build, but in the end I took a leap of faith and trusted his experience and vision for this deck and it was the best decision I ever made! Mike gave us an estimate and time table for the work which was revised a few times due to our changing the scope of the work; namely changing the building material from treated lumber to composite decking and installing new siding on the house. After these changes were made the work proceeded on time and on budget. The work ethic of Mike and Bill is outstanding and they had to deal with some blistering hot days and also several days of rain. The construction area was picked up daily and immaculate at the end of each day. These people are honest and trustworthy and do what they say they will do, and then much more. My retired neighbors gave me unsolicited glowing reports at the end of each day and Mike kept in constant communication with us throughtout the project. The finished product is structurally sound and absolutely beautiful, greatly adding to the value of our home. We love our little outside oasis and can't highly enough recommend Turrell Home Improvements.
