Better Heating & Air

On 10/9/13 Jeff replaced the furnace valve and (per my tenant) blew out the humidifier tubes. The next day my tenant called to say that the humidifier was leaking on the furnace & the new valve. I called Jeff several times & left messages. I received a text from him on the 12th saying that he was working in Rochelle and would be home on Monday the 14th. When I didn't hear from him on Monday I tried to contact him again and still have not received a response. By the way, on Saturday (when he was working in Rochelle) I stopped at his house where his truck and a car were parked in the driveway. I rang the bell & a couple of dogs were barking but no one answered the door. Today (Tuesday) I again drove by & his truck is in the driveway but has been moved & the car is gone. I have been patient (thinking extenuating circumstances) because of our past relationship (see my Angie's List review of 9/28/11). I don't understand why he will not call and have now I have given up and will never use him again.

I had him out to my home to install a aprilaire. It's a one owner business. He is very easy to get a hold of, very personable and he works with your budget and schedule. The service he does is wonderful. I would use him again in the future.

This was my first experience with Better Heating & Air. I hired Jeff to clean 4 furnaces in 3 houses. 2 were in my own home and he went the extra mile modifying both furnaces for better filter performance. We then went to a rental house where the furnace was not working. He determined the cause which was a warranty issue and recommended contacting the original installer. His honesty showed because he could have fixed it and charged me. The next stop was another rental house where the furnace was installed with minimal access - so minimal that he could not clean the furnace let alone replace parts in the future. He recommended measures to rectify the situation. I was impressed with his knowledge, professionalism and honesty.
