XS Kevins Landscaping

We used this service for 7 years and when we began it was outstanding. However, as their client list has grown the workers are not as careful as they used to be and are in too much of a hurry. They use large lawn mowers and the speed and careless attitude causes problems when they need to move around tree circles or curved landscaping.

Kevin's does the regular lawn service at my parents home in Westchester and does an excellent job. Asked for a spring clean up and they did it on 4/5 and the place looks fantastic. Everything is cleared up and plants cut back. Really looks good! Thank you for the excellent service over the years!

XS Kevin's Landscaping has been cutting my lawn for around 5 years. They show up every week and it looks great. I have also hired them to do some landscaping work like removing bushing, planting new shrubs, mulch, clean gutters. Everything I have hired them for was done with great satisfaction.

Called twice and emailed twice over a 10 day period. NO return calls or emails. If they can't even respond, I can only imagine the quality of their work. Guess Kevin doesn't need the business or he's too busy shining up that yellow Hummer of his.

It is very disappointing and a tremendous waste of time and effort when you deal with a non-responsive company. I don't understand how places like this stay in business. I called them more than 6 times, from March 2013 until July, all with no response.

Most of the story is above. One thing I discovered only after about three months with them in 2012 was that Kevin just subcontracts all the lawn work. He provides no supervision for his largely Hispanic crews, who do not speak English well. They mowed the grass too short, did nothing about weeds--didn't even offer to apply weed control or fertilizer for extra cost. I was very surprised, since a neighbor has used them for years and seems to have no problem with them. Perhaps it was all a communications problem, but if so Kevin could have assisted me a little last year when I asked for the crew to take care of the weeds in the back yard.

They were great. Work was done very professionally.

They are on time do a great job and are very fast.

We had bought a house that had a pond in the backyard. The previous owners of this house NEVER took care of the pond! The pond was nasty and smelly and a mosquito breeding ground. There was also way too many plants growing around the pond. We had estimates from 4 different companies that were way way way more expensive than the estimate we got from XS Kevin's Landscaping. XS Kevin's Landscaping had 3 guys come over and remove the pond, put in fill dirt and topsoil and remove the overgowth. They did an excellent job that was within our budget. We are going to contact them again to do a small job in the backyard and a small job in the front yard. We were very satisfied!

I've used Kevin's for years for regular lawn maintenance and other larger projects such as spring clean-up, removing a hedge row, filling topsoil, seeding grass, and trimming back trees. Their service is reliable and their prices are competitive.

I've been using this service for three years and have been delighted with their work. They are efficient, inexpensive, and whenever I've had a larger job they've been quick to give me a quote and dependable for the work getting done. I don't have to wonder if the lawn work is going to get done on any given week and when I've needed them to come on a different day (to accommodate a party in our yard), there has been no problem. They have been completely respectful of our preference to have a chemical-free lawn. In the past three years, we've had them tear out a hedge row, load topsoil and grass seed after a concrete pad demolition, remove two trees, and tend to our huge crab apple tree--and we've never had a bill over $450.

We were avid gardners, but we had our first child a year ago. Since then we couldn't find time to sleep, much less weed and trim. Our yard was an absolute mess. We probably have 2500 sq ft of gardens. All of those were inhabited by tall and short weeds. Our hedges were out of control, and...well...it was a mess. These guys came out and quoted us a very reasonable price to get our weed patch under control. They came in a very reasonable time, were very polite, had no problems doing a few extra things that weren't on the estimate, and left our yard looking great. As a side note, we've had other people come out to do hedge trimming...and they were just real hacks. The people that trimmed our hedges here did them very well...they knew what they were doing.... Lastly, I had tried to get other companies to do this, and they wouldn't touch it this time of year as they were busy mowing or whatever, but these guys came out and did a great job. It was and is such a relief to not feel horrible walking around the yard. I plan on having them back much earlier next year!

These guys did an amazing job. They did what we wanted and much more and did it all in one long day. I would highly recommend them.
