Special Effex

Floor is now cracking and chipping ...have called 3 times so far and only get voice mail . Will not respond to my calls ....I have left messages asking him to call me as he needs to come back and make this right .BBB has similar complaints

We called Special Effex/Craig Adamson after the first winter and after 3 phone calls and 3 months, he answered our call and came out to look at the situation. 8 months later we began calling again. After 4 calls and 2 months, he finally came out to put down another coat. Our final correspondence was August, 2012 when we asked him to fix the floor level as we are still getting water flow into the walkway, and to remedy the slippery floor that exists with the presence of the tiniest bit of water. He refused unless we agreed to pay an additional $500. The Better Business Bureau has accepted our grievance, his response, our counter response, his counter response and has now informed us "Your case has been closed as administratively resolved, and your case will remain on file for 36 months." In a conflict of our word against his, it appears that we have been deemed the losers. We would have liked knowing ahead of time of Craig Adamson's inability to understand what was being asked of him in our original request to rid our garage floor of standing water in the walkway from service door to house door. He made a promise, along with the written words "5 year guarantee" that he is unable and unwilling to uphold. When confronted with the guarantee, his response was that it was only guaranteed against chipping and flaking. That is stated nowhere in our documentation. He claims to have done what we asked and basically calls us liars when we remind him why we requested his services in the first place. We still have water that flows into the walk areas rather than draining to the end of the garage and out. But most importantly, we now have a floor that is so slippery when wet that there have been several slips and one fall. To this he responds that he will add a coating to prevent falling, but we must pay an additional $500. Be forewarned: Get EVERY item requested, in writing. We are baffled as to how we could have been so grossly misunderstood. Because the flow of water was not tested prior to sealing our garage floor with epoxy, we are left with a coating that cannot be removed, that has not remedied our situation and is now a safety hazard. Although he has never seen it in winter, he still claims that the problem has been corrected.
