Worst company ive had the displeasure of working with. Disorganized, rude, and they produce the worst quality fences ive seen in the area. Keep in mind i have worked with them for years. I have seen hundreds of fences installed by them. If i were you, id literally go anywhere else.
Description of Work: Im a utility locator. So i work with them very often. Theyre one of my least favorite contractors in the area. Ive had multiple fences called in 5 or more times about a month in between each other. They are contantly putting off jobs, wasting my time, and the homeowners. And a special call out to Melanie Bengtson who abuses the julie system only because she can, and is contstantly rude with me when calling about jobs.

In early August of 2013 I decided to have a fence installed around my back yard. I called three local companies to give me bids for the job. Jason was the representative from Rock Valley Fence who came out to bid the job. Of the three company representatives who gave me quotes, Jason was the only one who took the time to explain the entire process to me. His presentation included placement of the fence in relation to the underground utility lines, explanation as to how he would find the pins that determine my lot lines, placement of gates, type of material that could be used, etc. Jason's professionalism and the thoroughness of his presentation convinced me to go with the bid from Rock Valley Fence. I also stopped by their office and spoke with Gary who showed me the differences between the material they offered (I wanted to look at it to see what I would be getting before I decided to go with them). Gary was very friendly and helpful. I also had contact with Brittany in their office on a couple of occasions and she couldn't have been nicer! Installing a fence was a last minute decision for me and I was on a tight time crunch to get it done as I had company coming in with their dog for an extended stay. Jason was able to get the quote done, the material ordered, the utility company out to mark the lines, and the fence installed all in about 2 weeks. Needless to say, I was impressed. The crew who installed the fence were very nice and didn't mind my asking questions about what they were doing. They were very friendly and worked very quickly. When the install was done, they informed me they had accidentally cut through my sprinkler line. They then offered to have if repaired for me. RVF even contacted the company who originally installed my sprinkler system and had them do the repair since they were familiar with the system. After the repair they contacted me to make sure I was satisfied with it. That's really great customer service. After the fence was installed, I noticed a couple of minor things that I wanted corrected. I called Jason and he came out and did a walk around with me and noted my concerns. He arranged for the tweaks to be done and I am very happy with the end result. All in all, I am very impressed with the staff at Rock Valley Fence and I would, and have, recommend them to my friends and neighbors.

Don't go with Rock Valley Fence & Rock Valley Deck Company PERIOD end of story!
Description of Work: Composite decking and fencing-Start date was supposed to be 6/22/12 and to be completed 7/4/12. Start was ok but due to the hot conditions construction was delayed (understandably). Work construction was sporadic with no contact as to why. When I contacted the contractor no response or reply from the office. No contact for 3 weeks and then when I finally got ahold of the contractor I was told they had fired the deck installer and they had to re-order the extra material to fix what he had screwed up...and that those materials were on back-order. I had to threaten to call the Better Business Bureau in order to get them back out here to finish as they were trying to "fit me in" with their other jobs. I felt as though I wasn't a priority as I know there were other jobs to complete, however I was given a date as to when it would be completed and we were weeks past that. However due to the backorder the project was put on hold for a couple weeks without my knowledge as they would not reply back to my emails, texts or phone calls. The lack of communication was the most frustrating part of this experience. Project was completed on 8/31/12 (almost 2 months past the promised date (in writing)). The invoice was received on 8/23/12 and I was e-mailed on 8/28/12 wanting to know where the payment was and job was still not completed. I had contacted the contractor the date I received the invoice and no reply. Then I got an email from the office manager aka the owners wife wanting to know when to expect payment in full? I even have in writing from her that she wants to be "done with us" to get her payment. Funny, how when they want payment right away they contact me but when I want my project completed they don't get my e-mails, text, or phone calls?? The experience I had as a new home-owner wanting to get my new home in an inviting and livable space I felt disregarded, disrespected, and unimportant. I felt as though this was just "another Job" to get the revenue. In ANY economy I feel that an A+ effort should be put forth regardless of the price. Our project I feel was very expensive to us and should not have been put off as though unimportant. I want to share my awful experience with other consumers so they know what they are getting into with Rock Valley Fence & Rock Valley Deck Company. Regardless of the cost or the magnitude of the job it should be done with integrity, trust and full compliance of project requested. As an unsatisfied and disregarded customer I would not recommend Rock Valley Fence & Rock Valley Deck Company to anyone who wants complete satisfaction of their dream backyard (ie addition of their living space).

They put in a fence for me about 3 months ago and it looked good for the first few weeks I had it but it is already starting to fall apart. They will not honor the 20 year warranty that is on the fence. The guy that did it was really nice at first, but after you get the job completed by them they become very rude. A few days after the fence was put in my stepson came and looked at it and said the bottom of the boards where coming up, it wasn't even nailed in correctly. My stepson called them out and they were rude with him, and he told them they had 24 hours to come out and fix it. They did, but the boards are still not the way they should be; we have also had a problem with the gate, things are just not the way they should be with the fence!
