Excellent. Romen showed up to give an estimate--and he was 30 minutes early. He was totally knowledgeable--knew exactly what needed to be done. He promised an estimate the next day by email--and we had it the next day as promised. He gave us a variety of options and costs--and we could pick what we wanted. The men started within 7 days as promised--. All excellent. They protected our home with dust shields. Three men began the job and two men completed it. They mixed 4 different mortar colors--and we selected the perfect match to the vintage mortar color. These men are craftsman originally from central Europe--and their professionalism is evident. The job took all day--and when they left-- the work was better than expected. They cleaned up every bit of mess and vacuumed. The following day--the supervisor came back tot he house to inspect the job. They turned a nightmare botched job into a beautiful fireplace.

The guys doing the work were nice and explained the work they did thoroughly. I can't speak to their timeliness or communication process as my neighbor (fellow association member) managed the process. Last night we had the first substantial rain since the work was done. One of the windows around which flashing was installed is leaking again. The flashing on the sliding door has held up but the water has come through the third floor porch, with water being redirected to the soffit between floors. The water on the soffit was something the guy doing the work suggested may happen, but that he didn't expect any significant volume of water. There was a lot of water weighing down the soffit and dripping from it. So, the flashing didn't work 100%, but the good news is that Coast to Coast responded immediately to our call for follow up, and said any updated repairs will be done at no additional cost. They have been very responsive and helpful. I'm updating my review, now that the work is complete. Coast to Coast did quite a bit of extra work that would outside the proposal, as the leaking was partially based on the original diagnosis and partially based on the poor flashing on the roof. They came back and fixed the flashing on the roof, which we very much appreciated. The water on the soffit is still an issue, but Coast to Coast was very responsive and asked us to call as soon as we find a time for him to come out and evaluate the leaking, so that we can fix it. From a customer service perspective, I couldn't ask for more. Many thanks, Coast to Coast!

Romen came out and spent a good amount of time assessing the building and educating me about the condition of the masonry and suggested work to be done. We received several quotes for this work (5 total) and Coast to Coast turned out to be the best comprehensive package for the money. His crew came out on time, were very professional and did an excellent job. The job was completed as negotiated along with some extra small work that the crew did for free. I would definitely reccomend Coast to Coast to anyone having masonry work performed!!!

They came out the week before the job to do the estimate, we proceeded to book them for the work. They showed up on time, did the work in a day, and cleaned up their equipement, etc upon leaving. Their work is also guaranteed for one year. With the winter upon us, we wanted to make sure we proceeded with this project before large amounts of snow melted on these caulked areas.

Coast to Coast promptly responded to my call, coming out to inspect the work needed and quickly providing a detailed quote. They also noticed some additional work that I might need and provided recommendations and a separate quote for that. Once I decided on what I wanted done, they quickly scheduled and performed the work. I appreciated that they did not pressure me on the work I could not afford at this time. I was also very happy with the quality of the work, except for the color of the bricks they first used on the wing walls. When I pointed out that the bricks did not match the wing walls, there was no argument at all, Romen immediately assured me they would fix it. First they tried to stain the bricks to match, and Romen personally came out to see how it looked. We both agreed it was still not quite right, and the next thing I knew a crew arrived that same day and installed brand new bricks of just the right color. Overall, I was extremely pleased with Coast to Coast and I would not hesitate to recommend them!

They were by far the most cost effective estimate. They were on time for the estimate appointment and the service. They gave a clear estimate and the workers did exactly as directed without any surprise costs. The workers were professional and friendly. I would use them again if the needed.

It was obvious how knowledgeable Romen was when it comes to bricks, mortar, and chimneys. He supplied a competitive quote and stuck to his schedule. His people did a great job and the price was as quoted. Highly recommend him.

It was one of the smoothest experiences I have had with a contractor. They were punctual, professional. explained everything, cleaned up well and finished when they said that they would.

Apart from our deteriorating chimney, we have always had the issue that when a fire is burning in the 1st floor fireplace, a strong smell of smoke is evident in the basement. Other companies tried to sell us a stainless steel liner for the 1st floor fireplace flue (at a cost of >$2,000) based upon the assumption that the smoke was transferring between flues within the chimney due to cracks between the flue tiles. This didn't make sense to me, as only minor cracks were evident between a couple of flue tiles upon video inspection. Besides, behind the flue tiles and between the two flues is a layer of masonry which should prevent smoke transfer between flues. Romen suggested another approach, which was to seal off the top of the basement flue, based upon the assumption that the smoke was being pulled back down the basement flue due to negative pressure created in the house as the fire burned in the 1st floor fireplace. This made sense to me. We did a test using a plastic bag over the top of the basement flue while a fire burned in the 1st floor fireplace. No smoke smell in the basement! The permanent solution was the installation of the energy top damper on the top of the basement flue, which was completed in October. The scheduling was no problem, and the two workers that came out were professional and tidy. I will update my review when we have the remainder of the work done in the spring, but for now we are pleased and highly recommend Romen and his Coast to Coast team for their punctuality, knowledge, competitive pricing, and professionalism.

Coast to Coast gave an honest appraisal of what needed to be done in repairing our fireplace chimney and to make it safe for use. The work consisted of tuckpointing the exterior brick fireplace, building a new chimney cap and tuckpointing the interior firebox. The workers were on time and kept the job site neat and clean. It took approximately 11/2 days to complete the job. I am very satisified with the work and look forward to using our fireplace on cold winter days. I would use Coast to Coast again.

Coast to Cost were the best to work with. We had them come out during the summer to look at the scope and limitation of the work to be done and were presented with an estimate. We received estimates from two additional companies that made an assessment of the problem areas and work required to eliminate the problem. In the autumn we had Coast to Coast and one of the other companies come out to reassess the problem and ultimately chose Coast to Coast because of their flexibility in scheduling the work to be done. Both companies we looked at seriously were highly rated on Angie's List and were comparable in price. The work was to take slightly longer than a week. The workmen arrived on time each day and worked all day until dusk. Each of the lintels were removed and replaced and waterproofed. Damaged masonry was replaced as needed, and the final lintels were painted to match the rest of the building. The work crew cleaned the entire work area when finished and were very accommodating to our needs.

The owner, Romen, was on time, personable, and really knew his business. He is a true gentleman and did exactly what they said they were going to do. They did a fantastic job. I had an emergency arise unrelated to the chimney, but to the brick on my home, and they completey fixed the problem, insulating the hole that was found and re-bricked the area. They came on very short notice for this issue. They really helped me out, and did a great job. They did a favor for me by understanding what the problem was and being willing to come that day to help us out.

I was very impressed with the quality of their work. They did not overcharge. They even patched up some extra repair spots in other parts of the house that were not in the original contract. I would not hesitate to use this company again.

The work was done fairly quickly and they set up and cleaned every day. It was as the weren't even there. You can see that they took their time making sure the work was done correctly. I had some bad flashing and they repaired it. The brick matched exactly, even though the house is about forty years old.

The crew that performed the work was great to work with. The were highly professional, polite, spoke English, and were punctual daily. Everything in the quote was performed without exception. I received an estimate on three different things - chimney rebuild, tuck pointing, and foundation cracks. We chose to use Romen and his crew for the masonry jobs - chimney and tuck pointing. I was on the schedule for about 3 weeks later. There was a 2 man crew out the first day to do the chimney and prep for the tuck pointing. They cleaned up after the first day. The second day 4 guys were out working for half a day and the original 2 for the second half of the day. All work was completed in 2 days which was what I was given in the original estimate. They removed the shutters to check the brick underneath. They removed old nails and other objects protruding from the brick. It looks amazing. You can't tell where holes were and it matches so well to the old mortar. My husband keeps checking spots he knew were in bad shape and he keeps saying, "Wow, these guys are good." We highly recommend Romen and Coast to Coast for anything involving masonry.

Coast-to-Coast provided a quote promptly in response to my request. Romen explained what needed to be done and why, using photos taken on the roof to demonstrate the problems. They started the work promptly and finished on time. The workers were polite and professional. The work site was cleaned at the end of each day.

The work went great. The workmen were efficient, worked quietly and neatly, and did a great job. While we opted for the lowest of their three estimates, you would never guess it from the quality of the work. I was especially impressed when the company called me to reschedule our appointment because of a rain forecast for the day we had booked, explaining that there could be issues with the mortar if it rained after the work was done. It is such a relief to work with such an honest company. We were impressed with the work, overall, but especially with how well they colour-matched the tuckpointing to the original masonry. You can't tell we had work done - all you see are clean lines between the bricks. It is a 100% improvement.

I have to say I was very nervous before the project because this 2 flat is my home and my biggest investment. It was really hard for me to come up with the money but I had to do it to protect the building from futher damage. I found great reviews on Coast to Coast Masonary and had a good feeling that I was going to pick them, I decided to get another 2 estimates just to be sure. Their price beat both of them and after talking to Stanley and Roman they assured me that they would do a great job and make me happy. The project completed yesterday and they did a incredible job on the building! I was walking around the property multiple times with a smile on my face and I was feeling really relieved that I chose Coast to Coast. My neighbor accross the street from me has a building just like mine, I mean twins same brick and style. He tuckpointed his building a few months ago and it really looks terrible, this proves to me how important it is to use Angies list to find a good company like Coast to Coast. As a matter of fact I signed up for Angies list for that very reason. Is it possible to find a lower price, I am sure you could but I think your better off spending a little more money and getting quality work done that will look good and protect your property for years to come.
