Michael was extremely knowledgable and efficient. He came to our house to give us a quote as well as stopped over to make sure we knew exactly what he was doing the night before he started. He took out ineffective and molding pieces of our front door molding/woodwork. The pieces that were not molding he left in place, which we appreciated. He replaces wood parts with PVC so we wouldn't have these problems in the future. He then painted the new area. When he couldn't find the right piece of molding he went to a few other places to get the best fit and it looks perfect. Michael kept us informed at every stage of the project. W would be happy to use Woodcut Remodeling in the future.
Description of Work: Michael re-created the external molding and framework around our front door.

Michael, from Woodcut Remodeling, designed and installed a wood banister and installed a baby gate . He had multiple design ideas to create a banister that would meet my needs and also ways to help lower the cost. I did not rate his pricing because I did not seek any other estimates for the job. Michael was willing to schedule the job in a reasonable time frame, and having a safe banister was of greater concern than getting multiple bids. He was professional, courteous and communicated with me in a timely manner. When an issue arose of attaching the baby gate to the banister, Michael designed a solution that was functional and did not distract from the design of the banister. Overall, I was very pleased with his professional and work.

Michael Infanti has done many projects for us, all done beautifully. He redesigned and remodeled our kitchen. He replaced flooring in the living room and dining room with hardwoods. He has redesigned ceiling and cornice window treatments in those rooms. He has repainted and papered walls in the foyer and family room. He has tiled and painted our laundry room. He has tiled and painted and done wall repairs in two half-baths. He has refinished furniture for us. He also designed and remodeled our office, complete with cabinetry and hardwood flooring installation. Most recently he has redesigned and remodeled the second floor (see above), and replaced all of the doors in the house with six-panel solid oak doors. We continue to hire Michael because of the excellent ideas and craftsmanship he brings to the job. He's very easy to work with, and pays attention to details. We will be hiring him again in the near future for other projects inside and outside our home. We highly recommend him for any remodeling project -- small detail work, or moving walls major work.
Description of Work: Michael Infanti, Woodcut Remodeling, does excellent work. He remodeled the entire second floor for us this time. His design knowledge gave us great ideas for changing the floor plan of the master bath and bedroom. He raised the ceiling in this bedroom and installed cove lighting. The redesign of the master bath included a walk-in closet, HUGE shower, double-sink vanity, make-up vanity, and beautiful tile work on floor and walls -- all of which we did not have before. All flooring in the bedrooms and hall were redone with hardwood. All walls were re-painted. All doors were replaced with six-panel solid oak doors. He designed double pocket doors for the master bedroom and bath (these, per his suggestion, were molded glass and oak). The second full bath was re-tiled and new sinks and counter tops installed. He re-insulated the attic. His cabinet, hardwood floors, tile work, and drywall installations are perfect.

OMG- Michael took a disgusting extremely cramped and totally horrible bathroom and made it a showcase. He expanded the bathroom by three feet into our bedroom so the bathroom was not cramped. He gutted the old and found out all the plumbing had to go-which I supected. He tiled the floor, walls and tub area. His suggestions made the bathroom amazing-He put in two shelves in the shower area and made a tile rug for the floor-all his ideas and they are so beautiful! He installed the cabinet which had to be cut down and painted the room. He installed the whirlpool tub making sure that it was level on the the very unlevel floor. He added insulation to the walls which had none. Michael also came up the brilliant idea of making the door a pocket door. We have the original doors throughout the house and this saved us from using a diffent door. It is gorgeous. He took a monstrosity and made it beautiful! Everything in the bathroom is top notch!
Description of Work: MIchael ripped out our old bathroom and expanded it. A total gut job.

Michael did an amazing job. The walls were in terrible shape. My home is 90 years old with water damage and severe cracking. The worst happed when the plaster fell away from the walls. By the time Michael was done, my rooms looked like they were brand new. He did all the extras-reattaching my molding and resurfacing the walls so they look great. My neighbors are so impressed and what impressed them even more was the fact that Michael cleaned up the room!!!! They are going to use him as well. I plan to use Michael again to redo my bathroom. He was very helpful with colors.
Description of Work: I had my wall skimcoated and painted,

Last summer we decided it was finally time to remodel the kitchen. This was going to be a complete tear out?floor to ceiling and wall-to-wall. Since I do not possess the requisite skills we embarked on the process to find a contractor that not only had the skills needed but someone we could work with and could transform our vision into wood and tile. Roger Tully of Tully Electric suggested we call Woodcut Remodeling for a bid. Since Roger had worked for us in the past and as we were very happy with his work?we had already decided to have him do the electrical work on the project?we gave Michael a call. Michael came to the house a day or so later and spent a couple of hours discussing the project with us. We were very impressed with his attitude towards the job. After comparing the written proposals and speaking with the principals with each company that we had called at least twice our first choice was Woodcut Remodeling and Michael Infanti. We liked all of the contractors who came out and submitted bids but it was clear to us that Michael was the man for the job. Mike was 100% professional from day one. We wanted a contractor who would show up, on time, every day and work on our project full time. We were not disappointed. Mike was here every day; on time, and worked all day?sometimes well past 5 or 6pm. On days when he was picking up material he would let us know in advance. He cleaned up the work area each day before leaving and was very considerate and respectful of our home by draping off the work area each day to minimize dust. He has excellent communication skills and answered our questions readily and completely. Mike is very easy to get along with and he?s very open to suggestions and mid-project changes?and we had several of those. He has a very good eye and a sense of how things should look. He has an old-fashioned work ethic, something you don't see all that often these days. His first concern is making sure that his clients are satisfied. Without question MIke stands behind his work. Bottom line?we will be hiring Mike again as we continue the remodeling of our home. Mike is a very talented and trustworthy man and we are completely satisfied with his work. You can?t do any better than Woodcut Remodeling and Michael Infanti.
Description of Work: Other than the plumbing and electrical work Mike did it all. This was a complete tear-out and replacement of the existing kitchen. The majority of the demolition was completed in several hours with help from Mike's son. Once the room was reduced to studs and drywall we found that the previous owner had done a miserable job on his own do-it-yourself kitchen remodel 40-years earlier. There were large unrepaired holes in walls where the previous owner had run conduit, large gaps where the floor met the walls and so on. I had anticipated this as we've spent some time repairing what the previous owner had "fixed" or added in other parts of the house. Mike fixed all of those issues, replaced drywall, installed the hardwood flooring, painted and stained, installed the cabinets and ceiling beams and coordinated the plumbers, electricians and village inspectors. But more importantly he made this all work...it not only fit together from a construction point of view...he made it work from an aesthetic point of view. There's more than a bit of an artist in Mike and for a couple like us that was invaluable. He cleaned up the work area each day before leaving and was very considerate and respectful of our home by draping off the work area each day to minimize dust. In retrospect *I* should have done a better job of covering furniture and other belongings because you're gonna get dust...throughout the house. Keep doors closed and close registers to unused rooms to minimize the spread of dust throughout the house. The original time estimate for the project was 5-weeks but it ended up being around 8-9 weeks. The delays were 100% our fault as we ended up having to re-order cabinets...twice. We had to re-order the oven cabinet when we decided to buy a different oven and when the first wall cabinet went up we realized that we should have ordered 15" deep cabinets rather than the 12" cabinets. Mike was good with both of these changes and in fact encouraged us to 'speak up' if we had ideas or suggestions.
