The first visit was OK but after that it went downhill. I suspected they were either not on the ball or not honest when they said the repair would not be covered by my home warranty company. I actually had it looked at by an independent plumber who agreed that the line stayed inside our foundation, so I have no idea how Welsch came up with the idea that it didn't. I now have a broken garbage disposal and the home warranty company tried to send me Welsch. I called them right back and got them to assign it to a different plumber.
Description of Work: The line from our garbage disposal was backing up in a downstairs laundry tub. We called our home warranty company and they sent Welsch. Welsch rodded out the line and it worked. However, soon after water began bubbling up from the floor near the tub. Welsch returned and said the line was broken, it wasn't their fault and furthermore would not be covered by the warranty company because "the line ran outside our foundation." Provided an estimate of $2,500 to fix. We called for a 2nd opinion and another company said the line did not run outside foundation, was covered, and they fixed it. According to the invoice, the other company only charged the insurance company $495 for the same job for which Welsch was going to charge us $2,500.

The repair person was rude, late, knocked over a makeup cart without picking it up or bother to mention it or apologize. I had offered him some towels and rags, he said no but then while working decided to help himself to our good towels out of the bathroom linen closet and use them to clean up and step on while walking in our shower. The plumber told us the problem was not the plumbing but the tiles in the shower stall. At considerable expense, we hired someone to re-caulk our shower - this did not solve the problem - another plumber came and noticed a small decorative ring that is supposed to go around the valve was missing. After replacing this a sealing it, no more leak. Welsh had done some previous repair to the valve - it was probably them that caused the problem in the first place. I called twice asking for a manager to discuss the repair person's behavior and my calls were never returned. This company only seems to exist as a parasite to warranty companies.
Description of Work: Leaky shower - Welsch was called by home warranty company to fix a leaky shower. They did not fix the problem. In fact they diagnosed the issue incorrectly which caused us to spend money to correct something else that probably did not need correcting.

Once they provided the estimate, I stopped all work. We had used this company once before because our home warranty service contract required that we use them (and that's why we had to deal with them a 2nd time this time). The first time we dealt with Welsch, it was for a hot water heater problem. They first tried to get us to act complicity with them while they stuck the warranty company for a larger hot water heater than the house required.
Description of Work: The company did not perform work, but provided an estimate of $800 to replace an ejector pump.

When the company arrived at my home and I showed them where the rod out location was, I was told that was not a rod out and that they would have to remove my toilet to do the work. I was told it would be $195 just to move the toilet. They then asked if I had any tarp as they did not bring any. When moving the toilet, they spilled toilet water on my carpet. They asked if I had any rags or towels to clean up the mess, and when I went to get some, they used a hand towel from my bathroom to clean with. My shower backed up again a week later and I called a plumber that I had used in the past. He told me that the location that I showed the first plumber was indeed a rod out and that my toilet did not need to be moved in the first place. The home Warranty Co. called Welsch Plumbing 2-3 times about returning my check. It was another 2 weeks before they did.
Description of Work: On dec 4th my shower in my bathroom was backing up. I called my home warranty company and they sent out this company.
