After trying to replace our old couch with a new one we were very unhappy with, we decided to reupholster our beloved family room sectional. Dave quickly stopped by to look over the job and give a quote. He brought fabric selections to us and even brought a second batch when we were having a difficult time making a choice. We also asked if the cushions could be replaced and if the area that gets the most use could get added support. All requests were no problem. The quote on price and delivery time were met and Dave delivered our couch to us looking shiny and new. Extra buttons for the tufting and extra material ( in case we were to experience any future damage) were supplied, which was a greatly appreciated extra! The entire process was smooth and pleasant. Dave is a really nice guy who knows his business. We are very happy that Upholstery World gave our favorite old couch a new life.

Beautiful job. My chairs are like new. I then had them restuff existing cushions on my sofa. I feel like my 25-30 year old furniture is brand new.

What an absolutely AMAZING final product ... From the fabric, to the tufting, to the wood, stain, springs, and cushions! The reupholstery of our 30-year old living room set could not be more beautiful. And Dave was just wonderful to work with! He is an extremely talented, kind man who just loves what he does. The pleasure and pride he takes in his work shows. He was smiling from ear to ear when he saw how happy and satisfied we were with his work. You can tell that his most important goal is his customer’s happiness and satisfaction. We won’t go anywhere else for our restoration jobs!

The results were amazing, restored the cushions which really made the furniture so comfortable. We have used Upholstery World several times and will continue to do so in the future. We highly recommend.

This chair has been in the family for over one hundred years. My grandmother had redone the chair with oil cloth during the depression. The chair was in need of TLC. The wood was restored and the cushions were redone in a tapestry fabric. The chair is beautiful now. I am very happy with the work that was done.

Based on the initial phone "conversation," I wouldn't even consider them for the work. The man who answered the phone had terrible phone etiquette (answered by just saying "upholstery" -- no 'hello', no name, no 'how may I help you'), and when I asked if he was open the following day (a Saturday) he said he wasn't sure. I also asked where he was located because his website didn't list an address, and he just said "Lombard." I asked him if I could send him some photos of the chair so he could possibly estimate (just ballpark), and he said "why? All that will tell me is the color." I explained that another vendor was more than willing to do that and had provided me a rough estimate via text within about 20 minutes, and this person replied, "well he must be a lot smarter than me because I've only been doing this for 40 years." Based on his condescending, smart-aleck demeanor, I decided not to go any further with it.

He came on time with lots of sample fabrics to choose from. The work was done on time. The chair looks beautiful. The workmanship was great. The only negative is that the cushion is so hard. I didn't know or think to ask about filling. So I definitely recommend them but ask about different fillings. He said I have medium and it is rock hard.

After getting the wood refinished and the chairs reupholstered, I finally can appreciate just how beautiful they are. I didn't even realize the detail with the wood carving until after they were refinished. The work exceeded my expectations. I had planned to place one in a bedroom, but now I want all three in my living room so that I can enjoy them daily. Really amazing work! They picked up the chairs and delivered them when they were done, very convenient.

I was in the process of moving and was having some furniture that was being stored in the garage and the basement recovered for our new home. Dave came to our house, bringing many fabric samples with him, and looked over the pieces I wanted done. He told me that some of the furniture was not worth repairing (saved me some money right there) but that some of my chairs were very good quality and were well worth the time, effort and expense to restore. I selected the fabrics I wanted and he took everything back to his work place. One of the fabrics that I had selected was no longer available so I stopped by the Lombard showroom and looked at fabric books for a looong time and got a lot a good advice and help from Dave's wife, Victoria. I even took a few books home to make sure I was happy with my choices. My furniture was not only recovered, it was basically rebuilt. Joints were tightened, padding was replaced, cushions were totally rebuilt and the finished product was fabulous. Since I am temporarily in a small apartment I was not able to receive all the re-done furniture. I explained the situation to Dave and he agreed to drive the two large arm chairs out to West Chicago to my son's house (fortunately he did not have to make that extra trip after all). My furniture was handled very carefully at all times. It was well wrapped in blankets to keep it from getting scratched in transport and it looks beautiful. I initially thought the cost was a little steep but after seeing the finished product I realize it was well worth the price. I feel like I have brand new furniture to put in my new home. I liked the fact that Dave said some of the pieces were not worth redoing. He also told me that the furniture I did have done was very good quality and that I should tell my children not to throw it out when I am old and gone but to hang on to it because you just don't see furniture that well made anymore. Who knew? Dave apparently. Dave and Victoria were very easy to work with. Very friendly, super helpful and patient. I would not hesitate to use them again myself and would highly recommend them to any looking for quality furniture restoration.

It went very well. They were prompt & brought many samples to choose from. Couch & loveseat came out very nice. Answered all my questions. They picked up the couches & delivered them when I asked for them. I never had to leave my house.

This was our 3rd experience at reupholstering a piece of furniture. I can not overstate how pleased we are with the result in terms of quality and professionalism. Dave worked with us to insure the end result was befitting for the piece involved, including working with us to select the correct fabric. He provide detailed explanations of the work to be done and upon completion provided details and photos of the work completed. The result is beyond what we had envisioned. The work was of the highest quality and was completed earlier than promised. If we have found this company earlier, we would have had our previous projects completed there, as well. If you have any quality item that requires reupholstering, you must consider Upholstery World.

The service and quality of work were outstanding from start to finish. I thought the cost of the work was high but I am satisfied with the outcome. Took the chair into the store and owner quickly assessed the work required and how much it would cost. The chair was completed in the amount of time estimated. While i certainly would recommend the store I think the cost was higher than expected.

Beautiful work and done prior to scheduled completion date. Couldn't be happier with the result, the work, the knowledge and the friendliness of the people that we dealt with at this company. I was referred to Victoria from Fred's Furniture Restoration. The work done was done very well and we are very pleased with both the chairs and the runner. As far as the cost goes, I am guessing at what I paid because I had this done a while ago and don't remember the exact amount. I have a couple of minor concerns: (1) was the cost (but that being said) I've never had anything reupholstered before so I don't know if the price was too expensive or not and, to be perfectly honest, she did work with me on the price; (2) I was told that she would contact me and after waiting for a couple of weeks, I ended up calling her. Her hours are not very convenient to someone who works and I had to take a day off to go to the shop. She is open for a very short time on Saturday's but I was unable to get there on a Saturday.

The completed couch was delivered on time as promise. The upholsterer is very professional, friendly and the shop owner was also very helpful even to the point of accompanying delivery of the couch and checking to see that we were fully satisfied. All the work done is outstanding. It looks and "seats" like the high-end furniture it is, well worth the price (not cheap but very fair considering the value given). With care, our family will be able to enjoy the couch as an heirloom piece for another century at least.

Vicki provided prompt, useful information via email to help me decide whether or not to reupholster this office chair. Based on that I won't be doing anything to that chair, but she'll be first on my list when I have another item to reupholster.

THE SELECTION OF FABRIC IS EXTENSIVE. THE UPHOLSTERERS THERE ARE VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE AND THEY WORK DIRECTLY WITH THE CUSTOMER. THEY ARE ALSO FRIENDLY. THE PRICE WAS FAIR. I FELT THE WORKMANSHIP WAS EXCELLENT.
