The Tile Shop was recommended by our shower remodeler, Best Tiling. They sent us to see Jim Lapisa. Jim was very helpful in showing us alternatives and installation styles. Their showroom is amazing with lots of looks to consider in addition to a wide variety of tile materials and prices to choose from. Jim ordered what we wanted, quickly corrected a quality issue with some accent tile and accepted the return of excess material with no hassles. A pleasure start to finish!
Description of Work: Recommended and provided marble tile and accessories for shower remodel.

I stopped in The Tile Shop after visiting many tile stores in the area. I was able to find a mosaic tile that I loved that I wasn't able to find elsewhere. I thought the sales associate was very helpful and returns of extras was very easy. The bathroom tile looks beautiful and I'm happy with the results.

Overall completely irritating. My contractor also rejected one of the tiles they had recommended for the shower floor because he said it was too thin. This was before I discovered that it was made in China. I ended up using a local tile store (Dallia Floor and Tile) that checked the exact location of manufacturing for each tile I selected. Everything was made in the US and I ended up saving about $1000 compared with similar tiles made in China.
Description of Work: I did not end up purchasing any tile from them. Almost everything they sell is made in China or elsewhere in the far east and is, in many cases more expensive than the same products made in the U.S. The boxes are marked made in China, but when I asked the salesperson about it she said that the boxes are made in China but all of the tiles were from Italy. I unwisely believed her, but later called the main number's customer service number with the product numbers I was planning to use and that person told me the truth- they were all made in China.

We had two bathrooms that needed tile and did lots of research on the Art Deco style. I walked into The Tile Shop with my friend who suggested going to the store. Right away we were greeted by a fellow Sunny Bhawnani, assistant manager, and in my mind I pictured a car salesman coming in for the kill. He asked what I was looking for and my friend backed off and made me speak up for myself! At age 47 perhaps I earned that right, but I was scared. I told him about my 1926 home and desire to go retro. Instantly he showed us the way to a vignette of the bathroom tile I had in mind. Done. Then there was the second (master bath) that seemed to take forever. I couldn't make up my mind but Sunny only helped more and more. He never got impatient even after three hours of laying out sample tiles to see what I liked the best. Sunny made suggestions that would help me spend less, but not compromise the look I wanted. That was refreshing. He matched the price of Home Depots subway tiles. And he said "ours are whiter". Yeah, right. Well, we bought a sample tile from home depot and it looks ivory compared to The Tile Shops white tile! No kidding. We were able to tile two bathrooms for under $3000.00. That was with a lot of marble too. Now, a month later, my husband and I decided to replace the ugly eight inch green ceramic tile in the foyer. We knew all we had to do was walk in and have Sunny help us again. But he wasn't in sight. Martin Ellens asked if he could help us and boy oh boy, he sure did. I literally said I wanted "something not too shiney but not too flat, something not splotchy but not too plain, something not too light but not too dark." He said "okay". and led us down the isle and pointed to what was perfect for us. By the way, we had our seven year old son with us both times. They had a dvd player and let him watch "Nemo". He doesn't like going to Home Depot but doesn't mind The Tile Shop! And we are living happily ever after.
Description of Work: The Tile Shop helped pick out the tiles and designs for our two bathrooms. We had our own installer.

Our salesperson, Stephanie, was very helpful in designing a plan/layout, which we did in March (construction began in May). In all those months, however, we never received a cost estimate. We only got the cost estimate on the actual day when the contractor was supposed to place the order. We weren't expecting it to cost over $5000 just for the marble alone. Our major complaint tho is the quality of the marble. It's just downright ugly. We're not marble experts but it seems to have been "cut" at the wrong angle, making us wonder if we were getting the quality of stone we paid for. The subway tiles were not black/grey and white as carrera is supposed to be (they were brown and white). The large floor and shower wall tiles were packed in standard brown cardboard boxes. However, they were completely soaked wet at their warehouse and the brown from the cardboard soaked into the tiles, ruining them. Our contractor made one trip to replace some of these, but we still ended up having to use several discolored tiles. Even the tiles that aren't discolored are really ugly and many had cracks. Some arrived with poor patch jobs where the manufacturer tried to patch cracks. We ended up paying tons of money and I'm not happy with the whole new bathroom because of the lousy marble. ALSO, one other major issue with The Tile Shop is that their salesperson (and other people there) recommended using "sanded" grout on our marble floor. Spreading the sanded grout on the tile cause very noticeable scratches and hazing. Our contractor had to pay $500 to a professional marble service to re-finish the marble. Two different marble restorers told us that no one should ever use sanded grout on marble. And that is what The Tile Shop is recommending. Caused a big delay in finishing our project and some serious heartburn.
Description of Work: The Tile Shop is a retail business selling all types of tile (ceramic, marble, granite, etc). Our contractor directed us to them to purchase tile for our bathroom remodel. We chose carrera marble. They advised us on layout and types of grout, etc.
