They were thorough with their estimate. They explained about their technique and the process very well, which prompted me to choose them to do the work. They were very responsive. I am currently using them to do the work.

Scott is actually a good guy and knows a lot about what he's selling and misc topics, was fun to talk to. The speech on the products and options was very detailed... very, very, detailed! The work itself was quick, I think it only took two days for the whole process (maybe only one). They did not disturb my wife at all which was a big plus. The end results were very nice, it's been a couple of years and so far no new leaks or other major issues, with the roof or skylights. Now for the minor issues: There was a lot of debris in the family room that fell in during the skylight process. I complained about it and Scott offered to send someone out to clean it up. We took care of it ourselves, but just thought that should have been handled by his staff. Again, over all that was minor and he offered to fix it right away which was good. They didn't secure the satellite dish cable properly after finishing the roof, so it popped loose again and is just hanging halfway down the side of the house. He offered to send someone out to fix that. Again more of an aesthetic issue than an actual problem since I don't use the satellite dish. The only real issue we have is that several of the gutter cap pieces have popped up. I haven't called about that yet. The major problem with the gutter cap system is the product itself, not Scott's installation. Water tends to run over the top of the product too fast, so now in summer we get water pouring all over the back deck versus getting channeled to the downspouts. In winter we get huge icicles because of the gutter caps. So while there is a problem, it doesn't appear to be the company's issue, but the product itself. The dings in quality and price were mainly from the gutter cap system. I think I would be better without them, and there is the issue with the popped up caps. Overall I'm very pleased with how the work was done and the quality so far. I don't see a problem with hiring them again. There were minor issues and he offered to get them resolved (and his staff DID show up to resolve them).

Our new home needed a tear-off roof, according to the inspector and two estimates given to us right before purchasing the home. We waited a year before requesting a large handful of estimates from roofers in the area. There were some impressive companies but we with Scott Owen's company for several reasons: he calculated that a ridge vent was enough to ventilate our large T-shaped ranch roof, that he used the more impressive ridge vent design, that he did not use subcontractors, that his men they would hand-nail (assuring nails would not be driven in too deep and compromise the shingles' effectiveness), and that they could get it done in one day. Seventeen roofers swarmed my roof at 7:00am one morning and took all of six hours to complete the roof in a well-organized manner, when the majority of the other proposals insisted on a two-day job. Scott was extremely impressive during the presentation; he comes off as an intensely knowledgeable man. It can be intimidating, as his manner of speech is similar to someone to someone who's hosting an intervention! But the more you talk to him, the more you like him. At this point, the roof's holding up nicely, with the exception of some chipping in one small section of roof. I have yet to call him on it but will shortly. The leak into our patio has stopped, as Scott said it would. The foreman and his son were very approachable on the day of the roofing. I found a dozen or so nails in the gutters but none on the ground. They used a dumpster instead of a truck, but the dumpster was gone by 5:00pm that day. My biggest complaint was that I had to wait a long time. During the estimate presentations, other places said that they could do it in 2-4 weeks, but Owen said that they were booked for the next ten weeks! If you need a rush job, this might not be the roofer for you. But our roof wasn't leaking yet and we decided that a roofer in high demand is worth waiting for. So far, I'd say it was well worth the wait.

Their estimate was way too high. The estimate was for $10,000. They were very professional. They made a great presentation, even though it was too long. They did a good job. However, it was too much money and they didn?t have the type of product that I had used. I will use them again in the future for a quote.

As planned - Start to finish in 1 day! Clean-up was fantastic - I was pleasantly surprised... The gutters were installed at the completion of the roof - this only took 4 - 6 hours and again the clean-up was thorough. The entire group is professional, are pleasant to work with and take pride in their product and craftsmanship!

I called Owens to get an estimate on skylight replacement and was told by the receptionist "they are too busy right now and someone would call me". That was a month ago and no one has ever called. In this economy I wouldn't think anyone was "too busy" to earn some money

I spoke with Scott Owen for estimate on my chimney flashing which I thought needed repair. It took about a week for him to come out to the house; I was not home when he inspected the chimney - he telephoned later and in great detail explained that I didn't need flashing repair but I did need masonary. He recommended a local shop. OVerall I was pleased with his professionalism.

They were professional. They did a great job and the work was done exactly how they said they would do. They said that the work would be done on a certain date and they got it done in one day itself. It?s been good so far.

They were very good and they explained the service prior to doing it. They told me exactly how they would work and they did exactly what they said. They did a better job than most roofing companies would do. Their price was a bit high but the work was worth it.

After I received a mailing from them, I contacted them to request an estimate. They mentioned they provided service to my area. They said they would call back to set up a time to meet. They never called back.

Owen repeatedly rescheduled appointments for an estimate over the past 2.5 weeks - never showed up. His failure to show caused us to reschedule other appointments. Needless to say, we will not call him again and cannot recommend him.

The awards really had nothing to do with the roof per se, but the new look the roof gave to the house (we went with "Architectural" textured shingles giving the illusion of cedar shake, but in prettier colors) laid a solid foundation for the work done afterwards to support those awards! I believe that the work done by Owen Enterprises had much to do with those awards.

Scott Owen offered quality materials and installation in his estimate. I am happy to report that he and his team delivered on every level. The resulting cedar shingle siding looks fantastic and already received many compliments from the neighbors. As Owen Enterprises only uses mill certified cedar, the 20+ year warranty protection also gives us peace of mind that the installation is built to last. While Owen Enterprises was several grand higher than the other estimates we received, I believe the additional cost was justified for quality materials and the craftsmanship of the installation. The work was performed when promised and the end result is a product that lived up to the company's promise.

Scott Owen came out and did the estimate quickly and gave us an almost too in depth sales pitch. He had been recommended by a friend and was persistent in attempting to get our business. He was honest about the anticipated start date (somewhat unpredictable because of the weather and recent storms causing increase in calls for him and his crew.) Once a date was set for the work his employees were on time and courteous. They cleaned up the areas they worked on well. They discovered our chimney needed masonry work and this required them to do some temporary flashing. Once the masonry work was completed I did have to wait 2 weeks for them to return, mostly I think because Scott had forgotten that I had called. After the second call he had a employee out within 24 hrs to do the work. He was also able to do some additional caulking that needed to be done around the chimney to help keep the house water tight.

Overall it went well. The crew was originally scheduled to come on a Thursday, but they called Wednesday to say they were a day behind. We actually rescheduled for Monday. They showed up on time with a large crew (no subcontractors, reportedly, only salaried workers) and stayed the full day. They did not finish, though they had said it was a one-day job, but they returned early the next morning and finished according to the revised estimate. They did a pretty good job picking up debris -- the amount was tremendous -- and the cost was as expected. They are a little more expensive than some others, but this is the second house within a year for which we've used them (we just moved) and they appear to do good work (I am not an expert so it is hard to say with certainty).

THEY SAID THEY WOULD BE OUT TO LOOK AT THE ROOF AND WOULD CALL ME TO LET ME KNOW HOW MUCH IT WOULD BE FOR REPAIRS, BUT THEY NEVER CALLED BACK.

SCOTT OWEN, THE OWNER, WILL GIVE YOU THE MOST DETAILED PRESENTATION ABOUT YOUR ROOF. HE WILL SPEND AT LEAST AN HOUR ON YOUR ROOF BEFORE EVEN PREPARING A QUOTE. MY PARENTS USED THEM AND HALF OUR NEIGHBORHOOD.
