We started early in spring, interviewing the highest rated local roofers (I have never needed to replace a roof). 3 roofing firms came with roofers recommending their preferred brand of asphalt shingles. I was pressured into picking soon, since asphalt shingle firms have consistently increased their prices 2-3 times a year. I was tempted (pressured) to go along since my initial impression was to pick the most durable and aesthetically pleasing shingle option and that the workmanship was similar across the board. Scott Owen, with our fourth appointment, impressed me with his depth of knowledge of roofing, and his desire to educate the customer. There was no pressure to commit. After the "Scott Owen counseling session" I came to realize that workmanship is critical and materials are incidental. From an aesthetic viewpoint and mid point pricing, we opted to use the DaVinci Bellaforte shingles. Scott was kind enough to introduce us to Mr Aaron Adams, now the regional sales manager of DaVinci. Mr Adams' involvement in the product education and aiding my wife to pick out the color mix clinched the deal. We tried out three different color options, all for free before we picked the final one. Simultaneously we got 4 quotes from DaVinci certified roofers. Scott was not the cheapest but when he agreed to beat the best quote, I was convinced that with Owen enterprises, I had the best company, the best materials and the best prices. The roofing process took about 2 1/2 weeks due to bad weather. I love the look of the final product and the clean up after. Positives: Impressed with the education (I guess the OCD process is what clinched the deal); the workmanship and overall professionalism. 'Could do better' on pricing and communication. Negatives: 'I would have to ding Owen enterprises on their communications. It appears that Scott controls the show but does not always reveal his thought process to his office staff. He is not always prompt in responding to his phone calls except when negotiating. He was completely unaware that the skylight hardware had not been removed from inside the window and that it was non-operable. We had a couple of other issues with blown appointments with his lead foreman (a no-show during roofing without calling us and showing up too early for another visit).

I called Owen Enterprises for a gutter estimate on May 24, 2013, and left a message. They never called me back. I followed up with a call on June 4, 2013, and spoke with a person. The person on the phone took my information and said someone would get back to me. I never heard from them.

Very well. I was impressed with Mr. Owens knowledge of roofing and how detailed him and his team were. I interviewed about 12 roofers and for the price/knowledge/warranty of the services performed, I was very happy with the results.

The initialization of the project (approximately the beginning of September) was quite rocky and discouraging. I had to make many phone calls and wait for replies to even discuss the project. It seemed as if it took the whole month of September to go from initial call to having Mr. Owen give us his estimate. If there were circumstances (vacation, family tragedy, high work volume, etc.) that prevented timely call-backs, I wish that the office staff had been forthcoming about them early on. It would have settled my impatience. We issued our deposit the day (9/29/2012) we received the quote. The work was done and completed in late October. To be fair, this was the second time in about 15 years that we had done business with Owen Enterprises (they re-roofed our house in about 1997), so we were not "frequent" repeat customers.

Everything was great. We were happy with the end result. The only problem was waiting...it took at least a month before the job started and we didn't think that was a problem at the signing of the contract. However, we hired another company to install gutters (which were needed badly) and couldn't get those done until the roof was completed. So a month turned out to be a long wait with those faulty gutters bringing water straight to the basement. Also, it was quite expensive but we were impressed with the ventilation system that was presented to us so we decided to pay the extra money. Was it worth it? I think so. Aesthetically, the roof looks nice without all of the stacks and we really like that there is no maintanance of an attic fan.

Scott Owen was very professional and helpful in getting our new roof installed. There was (minor) issue with direct communication but easily resolved and overall we were very pleased with the quality of the work. They did damage some plantings but I suppose that is not unusual with this type of job.

Fantastic! Scott Owen is extremely knowledgeable and takes the time to explain what he is going to do and why he does it the way he does it. For example, the gutters needed to be installed on a very specific angle in order to work which is why they often fail for others. He uses screws instead of nails so the gutters will not pull apart later on. His team pays attention to the details. He is always on time, his team is friendly and professional, and everything went very well. I recommend him all the time - I have no doubt he will do a great job! His pricing is a little higher than others but it is well worth it!! He fixed the work done by others for me so it is worth paying a few extra dollars to get a job done right the first time.

We called Scott over to give us an estimate for siding on our house after seeing the beautiful job he did on my sisters house. Very professional display of the products he uses and colors and textures. He showed us what we could do with our house. Scott is very thorough, as is his company, and the 2 workers that did our house, Andy and his workmate (sorry I forgot your name). Besides having siding put up in January, they were very nice and asked me many times how I wanted something finished. All in all, they were very considerate, and our finished product is wonderful! We will definitely call Scott again for future projects.

Owen Enterprises did a good job. There were a couple of hiccups with the roof. Overall it was pretty good. I would consider using them again.

I thought they did a very good job and they were very thorough. They gave me a twenty five year guarantee on the entire roof. It's a twenty five year warranty on the roof as well as the labor non-prorated warranty and if the shingle was bad, then it's a fifty year non-prorated warranty on the labor and on the shingles so that is pretty much why I went with them. The warranty is transferable.

I checked them out on Angie's List and they have good reviews. Quite honestly in their case, I probably went more on just recommendations of other people on our block that also used them. Essentially, now they have worked on about 4 to 5 houses on our block. Their pricing was on the higher side compared to others but what I liked was that they came with a crew that worked hard and they were done in a day and half. The quality of their work and watching them work, I got the impression that they worked well and fast and got the job done promptly.

They seemed to have done a great job. The guy came out right away to give us an estimate when we called. The only real complaint we had was that, when we finally contracted with them, they told us that it would take three weeks to do the roof and it was more like eight weeks they took to complete the job. So that was really late. They did the job in a day and they did a good job. They were the lowest estimate that we got and it was $10000. We had a couple of good rains and we haven’t had any leaks. We emailed about six different roofers for an estimate, and they were the only ones that responded and they responded immediately. They responded the next day. From the time we found the contractor until the time they came, it was longer than they had estimated it to be. In the roofing business, the weather can be a hindrance and so that can be kind of tough. We will use their services again in the future.

Scott is a true professional. He runs his business with a focus on quality & integrity. He educates his customers regarding the otherwise foreign world of roofing, and clarifies how to identify quality and workmanship.

The owner (Scott Owen) was extremely thorough in his proposal which specified the work that had to be done (base cost estimate), what might have to be done depending on what they found when they began the work (possible increases to the estimate) and options for upgrading various materials (E.g. shingles). Their proposal was by far the most detailed and explicit compared of the 4 bids I received. While it was exhausting to go through the detailed proposal (as Scott goes through it with you), it was very worth my time and I understood clearly what they would do and how much it would cost. They completed the replacement as planned in 1 1/2 days and were very diligent in keeping the area around my house and yard clean during the process. They came in right on their original estimate and actually saved me $7,000 over another roofer's proposal that assumed all the decking would have to be replaced (which it did not). Owen's project manager and workers were very professional and communicated quickly when they needed a decision on something they encountered during the work. I was pleased and would highly recommend them to anyone who wants a high quality job on roof repair or replacement. They won't take short cuts and won't underbid the work. You can trust their bids and the work they do. My only comment about where they could improve is that they are completely focused on what THEY do (and rightly so as they do a great job) but not as clear about the unintended impact of their work on the customer. For example, although they replaced my TV satellite where it had been, it took 2 visits from the TV company to get my TV working again. The only thing I could suggest to them is to be a little more "customer centric" in addition to their obsession with doing a great job on the roof.

We met with company owner, Scott Owen, who went over all options and details of the work to be done. He is extremely knowledgeable, presents the information in a clear manner, and answers all questions honestly and completely. The start date of the project was dependent on weather conditions but we were notified in advance when work would begin so were able to plan for it. The team of workers were courteous, efficient, and thorough. The job was completed on schedule and, other than the repairs, you would never know they had been there as everything was left as it had been found or cleaner. Mr. Owens followed up immediately to learn if we were pleased and if there were any questions or concerns. I was highly impress with the professionalism and the quality of the work done. I will have them back the next time I need another home repair.

They were great. They were really good company. They did what they said they would. It’s hard to get hold of them initially. I would use them in the future.

Scott was very professional and explained everything to us from the beginning. We were being refunded by our insurance company and he was willing to wait on payment until our insurance company paid us. The work was fabulous! We changed the 30 year old blue siding to a nice crisp white siding and we recieved so many compliments. Later we noticed a small damage in the siding (no fault of his) and his team came out and fixed it free of charge. I would use Owen Enterprises again and highly recommend his siding professionals to any of my friends.

From the very first meeting with Scott we were impressed with his knowledge about his industry. Scott communicated with us during the entire process, we were never left wondering about time schedules and workers. Prior to starting the outside work, a leakage problem occurred on our roof and skylight. I called Scott and he responded immediately and a new skylight was installed. The roof leak also was taken care of in a timely manner which was greatly appreciated. Our project included, removal of old siding, soffit and gutters from the garage and house. Installation of Hardie Board siding, trim and all new aluminum soffits, gutters on both garage and home. Also new exterior doors on both the home and garage were installed. Scott helped us in the color selection, size (of Hardie board) and product combinations. We are so pleased with the curb appeal due to the right color and product selections. This has taken 20 years off the look of our home and even our neighbors have remarked about the difference. The team that Scott has working for him were very professional and dedicated even in the cold temps of December! The attention to detail was reflective of their outstanding craftmanship. They always cleaned up after themselves and let us know when we could expect them to return. The project was started late December and they finished right after New Years Day, taking only Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and New Years Eve and New Years Day off. They provided daily work updates of work that was accomplished and expected time schedules. Scott has a motto of 'get it done right the first time' and it describes Owen Enterprises and what you as a customer can expect!! We are very pleased with this company and would highly recommend them to anyone.

We had met the owner last year, and he was extremely knowledgeable, straight-forward, pleasant, and we decided to pursue them for our project this year. They came out and did our roof last week. My husband was pleased when he spoke to the crew when they arrived before he left for work. They kept everything perfectly clean while they worked, and finished in a very timely manner. None of our landscaping was damaged, and I haven't found as much as a nail lying around. They were efficient, extremely nice, the supervisor was great, and they had worked us into their schedule for our convenience. The whole experience was professional, including each member of the crew. My husband and I went up to see the work after it was done and they did a wonderful job. This has been the best experience with a company I have ever had, and that includes many stellar experiences.

Scott Owen, the owner, meet with me and my wife one evening. He was very accommodating of our schedule, and took about two hours to explain what we needed to replace. He was very thorough in his explanations of the work that his company would performed. After getting a few other quotes from other companies, we chose Owen Enterprises based on the scope of work he provided and a personal recommendation from someone I greatly trust. THe pricing was slightly higher than some of the other quotes we received, but I feel it was worth it. There was a slight communication about scheduling, but Scott worked with us to get the job started when we needed it to start. We were very appreciative of this. I only had two issues with Owen Enterprises, and they are not major. The first issue occurred when a crew came over to replace the windows and remove the gutters in preparation for the roof crew. When the employee removed the old gutters, he dumped out any material that was in the gutter onto the grass and did not clean this up afterward. However, all of the other processes (window, roof, gutters, soffits) went smoothly and the cleanup was fantastic. The second issue I had (which I did not notice until over a month later) was the roof shingles and flashing at the roof line above the garage was not looking that great, and one of the hips had a few nails sticking out at the bottom. I e-mailed Scott about it, and his office manager called back within a few days. She told me that I would be put on the repair list and that someone would be out soon. I was fine with this, and the next week someone came out and repaired what needed to be done. I have been in the construction industry now for 17 years. I am very impressed with the quality of work that was done, and the high level of service we received. We will definitely be talking to Owen Enterprises when the time comes to replace the rest of our windows and siding.

Scott gave us a solid quote. He was very thorough with his explanation, but we decided to wait to do the project because it was so close to winter. We are ready to go forth with the project.

Scott Owen is extremely thorough in the estimating process, providing a wealth of information and answering all my questions. For the job itself, the crew leader called a few days in advance to schedule the work. The crew showed up on time and got right to work. The bring a large crew and were able complete the entire job in 2-1/2 days. Cedar shake tear off generates a large volume of waste and the crew handled it well. Clean up around the house was thorough. The crew leader communicated well during the job, bringing issues and choices to me and explaining the options.

I spent $7000 and that included the skylights. He was just real professional, clean and I could trust him. He came out and did the whole tear off and replacement in one day. He has also done work for my neighbor and my uncle and I have referred him to a couple of people because he did a nice job. They also had a good experience with him. If there was something that went wrong, he came back and fixed it. If I paid him and if something was a little off and he came and fixed it and that was all I cared about. He also did the gutter guards and a year or two later he came back and sealed off an opening through which a bird kept going in there. He made it so that the opening wasn’t there and he did not charge me a thing. He was good. I called him and he came out right away.
