North Shore Chimney Restoration

I have used North Shore Chimney previously for some repair work on my chimney. I was informed then that yearly sweeps and inspections are recommended. The technician, Chris H., that performed my sweep this year was very prompt, polite, and professional. I like the fact that he is CSIA certified. He provided me with a written condition report and went over the specific details with me, this gave me a thorough understanding of how a fireplace works. I recieved a discount for being an Angies List member and from the research I did their prices are very competitive. Overall I was extremely happy with the services North Shore Chimney provided from start to finish. I would recommend North Shore Chimney to anyone in need of a fireplace sweep.

I called North Shore Chimney to get a second opinion on some work that was recommended by another chimney company. The technician who came out was very polite and knowledgeable. He informed me that some of the work being quoted by the other company was not necessary, and the prices north shore chimney quoted were much better. The work was completed in a timely manner and without mess. Overall I was very satisfied with my experience.

The company came out to do the work and ended up charging over $2,000 more than they quoted because they needed to dispose of the large original chimney covers rather than leaving it on the roof. After the job was completed, when asked how the labor cost for the removal totaled $2,000, the workers became irritated and hostile. We've recently found that the problem that had us requiring their services in the first place, smoke from one condo's fireplace creeping into the next unit's fireplace, isn't fixed in some of the units. Other fireplace repair companies have come out and said that the re-sizing of the stacks that Northshore did wasn't done correctly and that we were grossly over-charged for the work. To compound matters, in an attempt get them out to rectify the problem and re-space the stacks, Northshore's website is now down and Dominic has refused to return multiple (5+) messages left on his voicemail.

DOMINICK WAS GREAT TO WORK WITH. AFTER THE INITIAL ESTIMATE, HE CALLED US TO FOLLOW-UP AND ASKED IF WE HAD ANY QUESTIONS! SOME OF THE ITEMS IN THE ESTIMATE WERE BETTER PRICED THAN COMPETITORS. FOR OTHER ITEMS, HE MET COMPETITORS' PRICES. OVERALL, HE REALLY WORKED A LOT WITH US ON THE PRICE. AS FAR AS EXPERTISE AND QUALITY, NORTH SHORE PRESENTED THE MOST THOROUGH EVALUATION OF WHAT NEEDED TO BE FIXED WITHOUT ANY PRESSURE TO DO MORE THAN WE WANTED. OTHER COMPANIES MISSED SOME MAJOR ISSUES. WORK DONE WAS TIMELY, NEAT, AND PROFESSIONAL.
