They redirected 2 downspouts to redirect rain into front yard and street sewer. 1 spout was Installed correctly, the 2nd spout is a mess, every join leaks down my brick exterior into basement. Water Ruined my exterior electrical outlet. They have been out twice and each time it leaks even worse!! This needs to be corrected with new materials, or they need to refund 1/2 of payment. So I can hire a professional to fix this mess.

DO NOT go with this company!! They will cause damage to your home, talk down to you and not want to fix their mess up! They put a hole in my roof/gutter area which caused water to get in my roof. Then deny doing anything wrong which is BS! Then fix/adjust the gutters which made it worse!! Now my interrier walls are showing water damage and they are giving me the run around! They take advantage of people!! Especially single moms!! STAY AWAY FROM THEM!!!!!!!

I came to Angie trying to find someone to fix rotten boards behind my gutters. Once Angie asked for a credit card, I left the site. I'm not paying until I see so.e work done. Anyway, I got a call from Leaffilter a few minutes later. I figured they got my info from Angie. I told them about my project, and they scheduled a time for someone to come and do a quote. The guy showed up exactly on time, but didn't have a ladder. He didn't even have a truck. He wasn't even interested in what I wanted done. He spent the next hour measuring, and trying to convince me that I needed new gutters, and their patented gutter guard system. I'm not even kidding, the man told me it would cost $25,000. And that was after some substantial discounts. It would have otherwise been $36,000. For gutters. After doing my best not to laugh at him, he said he could do it for $8,000 if I agreed to it today. This company is predatory. They wasted two weeks of my time waiting for an appointment, only to offer a sales pitch and tell me they couldn't do the project they offered to quote.
Description of Work: I needed two rotten boards replaced, not a sales pitch for new gutters. Their sales tactics are misleading and predatory, and their products are laughably overpriced.

I contacted them for a quote for repair and replace gutters and to install gutter guards. The salesman was very pushy. He quoted a price at the beginning another price at the end. A few days after our meeting, his manager called me with a much lower price. I reviewed their reviews on Angie and at the BBB. They are very mixed. They have issues with installation and customer service. They are very pushy and remind me of used car salesmen. I decided not to use them, but their final price was very attractive. I did not want to take the risk. Be very careful and read their reviews.

RUN do not walk away from this company. They botched the job then go MIA- except for their finance company wanting money. Especially beware of their smarmy salesman JOE. I have photos of my "ocean wave" gutter guards holding nails in the air proudly. They also damaged my roof.

The contractors informed that they were sub-contracted out and was trained for one day and thrown out without proper training that dosent exist at leaf Filter! And they said they and other contractors get talked about behind their backs from top management and never got paid for there work training or gas Reimbursement. So I now what type of environment is governing in there company, I also know this personally because I worked there Lombard, IL leaf Filter and never compensated for my crew time, gas and work. I read in several posts here what I experienced this past week. We received the first “healthy” rain since the LeafFilter system was installed, so I was excited to see how everything would perform. Well, sadly it was pretty much like when I did not have the product as apparently a couple of the gutters are still clogged. My guess is they were not thoroughly cleaned out at time of installation, a “promise” I received in writing on my quote. My lower level gutter was overflowing into the soffit underneath and down two windows – Actually worse than I ever experienced when I did not have the product and the gutters were clogged. I also found an elbow from the second level pouring water out down the side of the house, again it appears the cleaning was not done. In fact, I asked the installers to make certain the second level gutters and downspouts were clear as it has been a couple of years since they were thoroughly cleaned. So, now to calling LeafFilter. I left a couple of messages with no return call. I then called again and stayed on hold for a considerable amount of time. Once a live person answered, I explained my plight. They have nobody available until mid-month to come out and inspect the issues, but man when I had a check in my hand, they were here in days to install. I explained my concern of water damage if we get another rain, no dice on a sooner appointment. I did get a maybe if the schedule clears, I know what I would bet against that happening. I also asked about the money back guarantee if the system clogs – Again which is in writing on my quote, and in my fancy guarantee I got after installation. Apparently, that only applies if debris gets in after the filter is installed, but that is not all that clear. My argument was the cleaning was not done properly at time of installation, so it clogged. After some back and forth it was obvious I was not getting anywhere (and BTW I did apologize to the gal on the phone as I know it is beyond her control and she is only doing her job), I asked to speak to a manager. She advised someone would call me back later that day, or by the next morning at the latest. Well guess what, just like what I would wager on getting an earlier appointment, I should have doubled down on no call back. So, I sat on my hands to see if in fact a manager would call and try to come to a quicker resolution, but seeing that didn’t happen it is now time to put this out to anyone considering a purchase. Beware! There are also some great reviews here, so it appears they can do a good job. But folks, it is all about customer service. Customers are your ultimate sales force as they talk with friends, neighbors, and family. As of right now I would not recommend LeafFilter to anyone based on my experience thus far. I will certainly post any replies if this gets resolved… As promised, posting additional regarding resolution... So, after waiting a few weeks for someone to come out and inspect, guess what? The elbow where the water was pouring from was jam packed. The installers DID NOT live up to the contract of cleaning all gutters. The lower level had a shield attached near the base of the downspout to help with the rush from the second floor, but the technician believes it was probably because the one downspout was doing all the work due to the shoddy installation and jammed elbow. We had some smaller debris on the top of the filters, like small seedlings and some of the roofing granules. According to the salesman, nothing would catch or stick to the filter - You know, after all it is above surgical grade... Absolute BS, it will accumulate, and for like the first floor I can use a leaf blower with an elbow devise to clear the debris. Guess what folks, after all this expense I still have to clean my gutters! Here's the real kicker - In the first year they will come out and clear this debris, after that they will come out, but it's about $100 to service the filters that are not supposed to clog - "GUARANTEED" folks! Another kicker, through the grapevine I am hearing about 1 in 3 installations experience issues... Scary, isn't it? For the money you spend these folks are like thieves in the night. Only good news, the technician was very polite, explained everything he found, and could not apologize enough. Unfortunately this deep into this fiasco, no apologies suffice for the aggravation. As for reviewer being contacted - BS folks... They posted to call the customer service number to help resolve, the same number I had trouble getting a response from if you read earlier in my post. What are they going to rectify? I am still waiting for the technician, I still have the problems. Then a separate email for further contact information so a representative can call. I gave that information, still waiting by the phone! Maybe an attorney is the next step...

Waaay too costly for work. I should have waited at least 3 days to mull contract. Multi-level marketing scheme raises price. Gutter has leaked in places. Requests made to come check on it, but no one has come; no calls to me to see what my issues are, but I have called Leaf Filter.

Agent never arrived for the appointment. I called and was told he was stuck in traffic and someone would get back to me shortly. I stuck around for 2 hours waiting but never heard from anyone and agent didn't arrive. I gave them a bad review on Facebook so I received a call asking if someone could call to reschedule. I felt that my gutters needed attention so I agreed but of course I never heard back from them again. In summary - unreliable, unprofessional and clearly are too busy to provide good service.

The install was wonderful. However I called and scheduled an appointment for someone to come examine one part of the system. It appears from the ground that the gutter protection has separated from the gutter. An appointment was scheduled but no one came out nor did anyone call. I've called two additional times since the first request and no response. I originally highly recommended this company. Since their customer service is horrible I would not recommend this company. I rate them an F because once they have your money its difficult for them to provide quality customer service. They should be ashamed of their disregard for the customer.

Work in contract was not completed. It took four days of calling to have one of three incomplete projects completed; the others were left unfinished. Also, the installer left debris on the ground around our house as well as a box with downspout materials on our roof. Follow up service for 2nd follow up did not show up as promised today. Sales person is completely unresponsive, and service managers cannot be dorectly reached. Do NOT use Leaf Filter. They are a horrible and completely unresponsive. If sales person Tim Danielson shows up at your home, slam the door and do not let him in.

I've selected an overall rating of C with the intent of providing an honest overview of my experience with LeafFilter. First, I strongly believe LeafFilter is an excellent product when properly installed. LeafFilter technology as demonstrated in the online videos is spot-on. However, I do not believe it is the right product for Northern climates that experience winter snowfall as melting snow on the roof can result in icicles overhanging the gutters with LeafFilter installed. This can create a potentially dangerous situation with falling ice over entrances. Other reviewers have noted this issue and is the main reason we decide to not have the product installed. Now to share my experience with LeafFilter: The sales person arrives and spent 1.5 hours going over LeafFilter's presentation. It was the standard high-pressure, hard-sales tactics. I was sold on the product before they arrived then started to question my intent due to the 'hard-sale' approach. 'Why is he pressuring if the product is so good?' The first quote presented was ~$8500 but due to the time of the year coupled with multiple discounts the 'offer-of-the-day' was ~$5800. I stated that was about twice what I expected. Then the BS started with additional incentives if we signed that day, like them on Facebook and write a positive review on Angies' List. At this point I said 'okay' just to get the sales person out of the house and signed at the third reduced price of ~$4500. One comment on LeafFilter's presentation, it's stated they have an A-rating on Angie's List. Next, the install coordinator calls at which point I already decided to cancel the agreement and told him I want to postpone the installation until I can have a follow-up Q&A with the sales person. I wanted to provide a verbal cancellation to the sales person. They do require written notice within three business days which we sent the same day to the local office and copied their corporate headquarters. I was not taking any chances with being charged 25% the contract price if cancelling outside the 3-day window. The next morning I talked with the sales person regarding cancellation and it was professional discussion at which point thought we were done with LeafFilter. Less than an hour later the regional operations representative obtained my wife's cell phone number and called her with a fourth price at ~$3400 (only valid today) including additional hard-sale points as to why we should have the product installed. She said no thank-you, the representative became very contentious, some yelling occurred at which point she hung up. Let's review: the initial quote of $8500 ended at $3400 or a $5100 difference. Based on this pricing scheme, the hard-sales tactics and the attitude of the operations representative we felt very uncomfortable with the entire situation.

Installation went well. 2 person install team were very good. Explained what they were going to do, cleaned up after installation and made sure everything looked good before leaving. Now that winter has set in, my house is over run by icicles when the snow melts and re-freezes. During the re-freeze cycle. the Leaf Filters are clogged with snow & ice. As the snow melts it runs off the roof (because the gutter filter screens are blocked with ice) (see attached pictures) Therefore a lot of icicles form, they drip onto the ground where is freezes again at night causing icing on all paves surfaces around the house. Currently my front stoop has about 1/2" of ice on it. Very dangerous condition. Did not have these issues in our previous 19 years we've been in this house until the Leaf Filters were installed.

Leaf Filter Gutter System(referred to as LF here on in) installed on January 14th 2018 at my home. 27 DAYS after the Leaf Filter System was installed, I began getting water into my house thorough the walls. Prior to the installation of your product, my home has never had any issues with water coming in from the gutters and surrounding areas. After your product was installed my interior walls immediately started showing signed of water damage after the first snow fall on February 10th 2018.To resolve this problem I asked LF to remove the product entirely and refund me the purchase price of $2100.00. When the water started coming through the walls, I immediately contacted David, the gentleman that sold me the LF System @ 847-224-9831. David never came out to respond to my distress. He only responded via text message back to me with the 800 number to call for service. After that, I have been desperately trying to get LF to correct the problem. I quickly learned that thier employees are trained to defect consumer complaints with nonsense excuses. I had another gentleman from LF, George Harker come out a few days later and just looked and left. After that,LF sent James Probyn, your Regional installation manager Mr. Probyn stated that he recognized some areas of the installation that need to be corrected. To which I stated that I did not want any further damage or obligation with Leaf Filters and to remove gutters entirely and my money back. The LeafFilter Manufacturer's Warranty."100% No-Clog Guarantee. If at any time the LeafFilter™ Gutter Protection System allows your gutter to clog with debris, fill with water and overflow, the manufacturer will refund 100% of the material purchase price for all LeafFilter™ material installed on your home. Additionally, if your residence sustains any interior water damage from such an occurrence the manufacturer will pay your homeowner’s insurance deductible up to $2,OOO ,I had and have continued to attempt communications with Mike Peck from corporate and managers from the Lombard Illinois office. Mike Peck promised me to personally look into the problem. He never followed up or contacted me again to resolve the issue. Leaf Filters sent out service techs 5 different times to try to pursuade me that the issues could be repaired. Finally, I was told by one of the service techs that came out that The Leaf Filter System is not compatible with Midwest Winters. He continued by admitting that a lot of homeowners have been experiencing the same issues that my home has because the Filters cause ice to dam and water gets in through the shingles and rafters. After hearing this information from one of Leaf Filters own employees, I decided then and there to not proceed with servicing an already bogus product. Furthermore, with so much damage to my interior from having the system installed, my only viable option is to have it completely removed. Which I asked for during the 100% money back guarantee time period. If LeafFilters can not stand by their warranty then I can not continue to communicate . They are offering to refund me 500 dollars. The damage caused from water getting into my walls is far more than that. I want the gutters removed and my money back. Period.

This is the 2nd time I have used Leaf Filter. I used them about 7 years ago on my former home. Good product and workmanship. Both times they initially came in with a high quote and after some negotiation they dropped the price significantly to one that was more in line with the competition.

The worst service I have ever received! The sales guy showed me the entire book, talked up the company, set expectations that were not met and then over quoted us. After the papers were signed the service that was expected was pretty basic show up within their 3 hour window, done right the first time, clean up their mess and all nails, work down in 24 hours (1day) in order to not miss work... Time is money and this company does not respect that and wasted a bunch of my time. The two workers showed up two hours after their 3 hour window with no call to notify the person waiting. After they showed up they had to leave again because they weren't prepared and their latter wasn't long enough to reach all parts of my roof. There was a worker left there to start cleaning up who I caught out in my garage staring at our motorcycles. Decided to start a conversation with this man and come to find out he is not insured by the company or a worker of the company he was a friend of the guy and just filling in for someone who was on vacation. THAT IS A HUGE LIABILITY!!! after a few hours and the suns starting to go down the guy comes to our door to tell us he couldn't finish the job because the manufacturing company gave him the wrong size down spouts. He will be back the next day if it didn't rain but because it was in the forecast to rain all weekend he most likely wouldn't be back until Monday. Needless to say our gutters leaked all over and started to flood in certain areas. After Monday came the men showed up completed the job and then left without collecting their payment or letting me inspect the work. Tuesday comes along and someone shows up pounding on the door to collect payment because they completely forgot. At this point I wanted to speak to a manager about all this before providing payment that was almost $3,000.00, they didn't meet their own service expectations for themselves or for me why would I pay for that type of service especially because they have men that aren't insured on your roof and random people off the street?? I have now called to discuses this twice with Leaf filter and was promised a man from the area would call me back since their corporate number is located out in Ohio. I waited all day to hear from this man and someone else called and at this point and was being disrespectful, threatening us he was going to show up fix the problem and demanding we were going to pay them in full their money for this horrible service. Called corporate back and asked why the man they told me was going to call has still not yet called and I am receiving threats from someone else that works there? The service is just getting worse and is still not resolved because the proper people are not calling me back as promised yet again they didn't deliver on. This has wasted 3 days of my time dealing with them going on 4 and I am not satisfied whatsoever with their Professionalism. If you like to be treated like a incompetent piece of Sh*t who doesn't deserve respect when you pay for their service go with this company they know exactly how to mess up your week and drag stuff out.

Not good at all. Salesman insisted on showing his entire sales book to me. After that he gave me a price in excess of $3,000. Told him it was way too much. Then knocked off $400 when I told him a competitor was offering that in their advertising. Told him that still too much. He asked what do I want to pay. I told him $2,000. He said "I have to call my manager." After the call, he told me $2,000 if I sign "right now". I told him no, that I would have to call references first. He was extremely reluctant to provide any references. In addition, they mislead the customer into thinking the installers are employees when actually they are independent contractors. After I didn't sign, he left disappointed, but called twice the next day. I didn't answer either call.

Very interesting. Called to set up a bid. They were almost insistent to have both me and my wife present (generally leads to a hard sell!!!). Got the very distinct impression that with out both present they were not interested......Intuitively, this felt very bad!
